At the end of the day, it is a character texture artist that you're disagreeing with/find disgusting though. Basically an ant in terms of their creative involvement with the game as a whole.
Boycotting the game over that would be as misdirected as not buying Nike shoes or clothing because a graphic designer at their marketing department also turned out to be a shameless degenerate celebrating a man getting shot over his views.
It would be different if it was one of the project leads that usually are granted ownership over the end product, as they called all the shots on Yotei.

We still preach free speech.
We do not want the government or some forces to silence these game developers. We don't want that.
However, we are STILL able to vote with our wallets. Asking for them to be fired or(and this is the crux) even us personally asking for them to be quiet is not at all the same thing as asking for their rights to free speech to be stripped away. We recognize the need for free speech we disagree with and we tolerate it. It may cause us to dislike a person and everything that comes with that, but we still believe in the right. There is no hypocrisy here.

Just this weekend, I was in a public free speech event, where literally anyone could setup a booth for themselves and talk to anyone. Israelis, Republicans, Democrats, Muslims, Christians, Hindus, Jews, Falun Dafa, Animal Rights Activists.... They were all there. Everyone openly debating with anyone who would hear them out, but with kindness, like fucking adults. It felt almost surreal to see all these people who typically don't get along co-exist and communicate. I was so proud to be American. Having seen other countries, where a lot of this is either not allowed or would immediately devolve into name-calling and violence, I was almost moved to tears by the civility.
So I'm sickened and ashamed by what happened to Charlie yesterday. This is not the direction I want this country to go. You respond to speech with more speech. Not bullets. Hope they find the psycho and bring him to justice.
The dev reactions are not surprising. They are all on resetera exhibiting the same behavior well before yesterday. They are far down the path of hate that even a vicious cycle of violence would only reinforce their way of thinking. Not sure what needs to happen in the world for them to wake up. So much for being "woke".

Normally, as I've stated before, I'd say: "separate the art from the artist" but this goes far beyond things like differing opinions and the like. All I can do now is simply not give them my support or money, and it's a damn shame too, because Sucker Punch was one of the few Sony devs I was a fan of their games.
