Jaffe wants to tap that
I'm late seeing this, but shit yeah bro, well fuckin said. It's crazy, but I truly think the right to comedy's the same thing as the right to free speech and freedom of expression. We don't have to like the joke, and if they keep making crass jokes after someone asks them not to then yeah, discipline them I suppose, but firing for having a giggle just seems absurd to me.All other shit aside, a bad joke alone rarely will get you fired. A harrassment campaign from potential customers has a much better chance.
As someone who likes to be able to make a joke about just about anything, this growing trend of rallying people to contact employers and getting people fired for a bad joke seems pretty fucked to me.
I want to live in a world where you can make a bad joke and not have it cost you your job. If you disagree with someone's joke, you can get called out for it, but firing is a bit much.
This stuff always cuts both ways.
You might dislike what they said in this instance, but people are going to dislike what you say too.
If you cheer this shit on, I hope you're ready to lose your job for an unpopular opinion someday.
Freedom of speech shouldn't be equated with the right to say whatever you want at work. No one is fighting for the expulsion of professionalism and decorum.I'm late seeing this, but shit yeah bro, well fuckin said. Saying this as someone who has been fired for speaking the word fuck within a sentence at a job that I had for over a year, and I was good at and I liked. A woman heard me say the word fuck in a sentence that didn't even concern her, and got me fired over it. It kinda sucks to have to constantly think about speaking perfectly all the time. Speaking as a veteran here too, it's pretty hard not to curse for me, and it's pretty hard not to make a joke on occasion, and I hate the idea of always worrying that my income might go if I don't stay perfectly within these narrow lines of verbal expression. People should feel free to express themselves to a reasonable extent without fear.

If standing up against fascism is what cost me my dream job I held for 10 years, I would do it again 100x stronger
I'm not here to defend anyone, but Harrison's only 'weapon' were her words too.Charlie Kirk's only weapon was his words
And people here are elated that Harrison and others are being fired because they don't like the words they said.Drew Harrison was elated that Charlie Kirk was murdered because she didn't like the words he said.
A single old man streamer, an ex cam girl...Is David Jaffe retarded? Did he hit his head or something?
He always was.Damn. Jaffe has become such a beta it is pathetic.
Ppl that fired themselves on social media are refusing accountability pretty wholesale, agnostic of their genders or anything else.Women and accountability don't mix.
No, he is a super woke idiot, this is completely on par for him.Is David Jaffe retarded? Did he hit his head or something?
The dev tasted their own medicine.I'm not here to defend anyone, but Harrison's only 'weapon' were her words too.

I'm not equating being murdered to being fired, but if someone just said some words you don't like, maybe we shouldn't try to have them murdered or fired.
We can just disagree with their words and move the fuck on.

Edited: Employers don't fire valuable people for saying a curse word in casual conversation or because they are "a man". They aren't sharing the whole story. What you "did" is not even in the same realm as what this woman from SP did. You were fired for no other reason than being a man. Don't fool yourself thinking about free speech and whatnot.
Freedom of speech shouldn't be equated with the right to say whatever you want at work. No one is fighting for the expulsion of professionalism and decorum.
And yet only one was murdered over theirs, and the other lives to be a cunt another day.I'm not here to defend anyone, but Harrison's only 'weapon' were her words too.
Bingo x 2People being elated because someone is getting non-lethal consequences for their non-lethal actions is completely different from people being elated by, and celebrating, the murder of innocents.
You ever work with "Karens?" It can be like walking on eggshells and all it take is theirEdited: Employers don't fire valuable people for saying a curse word in casual conversation or because they are "a man". They aren't sharing the whole story.
I've worked in a department where I was the only male out of 7 employees, but that is besides the point. If you are unlikable, you better not give them a reason to let you go. If you do, that's on you.![]()

Your correlation lacks nuance.
Bingo x 2
You ever work with "Karens?" It can be like walking on eggshells and all it take is their"strong independent women"feelings to be hurt "offended" and pity party tears for someone to be sacked in a corporate world that is held hostage by the culture war.
I know many women who refuse to work on teams of all women due to their backstabbing, gossipy and catty nature.

Look, is it possible that the poster was really fired solely for being overheard saying the word fuck, sure it's possible. Now is it plausible, I don't think so. I suspect there is more to this story.
It only takes one if that one is the boss or has the bosses ear. This is true for any working environment whether they are dominated by men or women.Ok.
That's the crux, innit. It only takes one.
