Personally, if Sucker Punch makes an statement apologizing and separating themselves from that psycho, I will buy the game then. Maybe not at launch but down the line. Its the only way they can win me back

Knowing that this is the mindset of someone involved with making the game is a monumental turn-off. I don't care that a game developer has an opinion that I might not agree with. The world is full of people who will disagree with you on everything from politics to pizza toppings.
I have a tremendous issue with celebrating and normalizing violence. Maybe I'll revisit my stance on this game at some point, but it certainly won't be within a timeframe that will make any difference to Sony. Most games what matters is the upfront sales and engagement. If I play it 5 years from now on PS+, as far as Sony will be concerned I never really played it at all, and I'm fine with that.

Pendulum swung back hard and fast. Companies doing 180s fast and furious. And the new Sony CEO isnt afraid to gas studios for poor performance. So no surprise when someone gets out of line, managers get the jist of the CEO's low tolerance for stupidity. So any trouble makers will get the boot too. No need for any possibility to feel the wrath of the CEO. Just solve the issue asap before he gets involved.I'm surprised they fired her so fast lol.

Like the Cracker Barrel debacle. Not only did they do a u-turn all within a week, but they even went the extra mile. I dont think anyone even knew about it, but their site had a link to LBQT support. They decided in their reversals to even scrap that entire page.
According to the first Bluesky tweets, other people from Sucker Punch, Bungie and some other studios all Liked her post. So it wasnt an isolated incident though it was technically her message. Other people saw and liked it. And also, someone posted somewhere a Bungie guy had a post in poor taste too.

Also if you watch Asmongolds video, some other devs from elsewhere posted horrid tweets, and a few of them funnily enough were former Sucker Punch devs.
It seems it may run deep in that company.

I don't see any reason to do that. My selling my PS5 isn't going to make any impact to either Sucker Punch or Sony. They have already received their revenue for the hardware and software. It's not like selling my PS5 somehow takes it out of their hands.
I'll just be a lot more judicious in what I buy, and at what price point.

You'll have conflicting opinions and ideologies from one person to the next and some are extreme like this bint who got sacked, but I feel something that requires hundreds sometimes thousands of people to create should not be put to the side because of a vocal minority.
I'm sure most who work there are level headed compassionate people who wouldn't dream of celebrating a murder of any fundamentally good person, even if they don't agree with everything he said.

The SP girl seems to have gotten fired and adjusted her profile to exclude all GoY and employer data. BUT, in a blaze of glory still claimed she'd do it again 100x if she could.
So even though she doesnt even work at the company anymore, she doesnt seem like the type of person to chill, delete her accounts or if Bluesky has a private mode do that. She's the combative type. So the more she eggs it on, the more SP and GoY gets blowback as people following this issue will link up she's the anti-right hating SP employee who liked Kirk getting shot and killed.
And GoY doesnt even launch for 3 more weeks. So plenty of time for more pre-launch antics.

All in all I agree, I think people should keep work and life more separate not to trash your company's reputation if you say stupid shit, but I agree cancel culture is bad.
Which is why when people started resorting to mob justice and harassing employers and advertisers, etc… some of us were deeply against it. It normalises a behaviour and tactics. Boycotting first party studios is hard, and it seems to be multiple PlayStation Studios members who are "siding" with the Sucker Punch dev.....obviously cuz they are all kinda friends.
Even any backlash they(the dev) receives they will probably just be moved internally to another PlayStation Studio, simply getting rid of senior devs isnt a good idea unless you have a good replacement handy, so better just to move them to another studio.

They most likely will, this sort of thing must go through legal first and probably the higher ups at Sony, like I said to people yesterday when there was no sacking, be patient, Sony are not a small company and they have to make sure everything is legal and above board before sacking someone or making statements Although, sacking the individual is already a strong statement in itself.
I do think its a shame though that these actions have caused some to do the whole console war thing under the guise of justice.

ERA is now boycotting the game over the firing, and while I find that, in all honesty, stupid, it's somehow less head-scratching compared to what people are trying to do here (as it involves actions done by people at the top).
