Kirk was a provocateur with divisive opinions. He was not someone looking for common ground. That is like saying Michael Moore is unbiased and just trying to find the truth
I'm not versed in everything Charlie Kirk has said
But I've seen a few videos and more often then not he's conversions start with the students list of things they've heard off the internet and Charlie says "no I think this, So we have have a understanding"
Which they do.
And there probably one or two things they have an agreement on.
Obviously there's stuff that young liberals aren't going to agree with Charlie on, like Pro Life & Free Palestine etc, but that how it unfolds.
The only time there's a complete disagreement is obvious the moment the student opens their mouths because they wasn't there to debate, they was there to give Charlie a piece of their mind and got embarrassed in the process because they wasn't prepared.
Something they should be if the school was doing their job regardless of the context.
You debate a lot at university and their inability to do so is shocking.
Anyone's opinion can be controversial,
And as there's a lot of topics Charlie spoke on, let's pick one
"Kids with fathers will likely have a better upbringing"
Here's a quote from Denzel Washington
"If the father is not in the home, the boy will find a father in the streets. I saw it in my generation and every generation before me and every one since. If the streets raise you, then the judge becomes your mother and prison becomes your home."
is that still controversial coming from him?
Abortion.
I generally disagree that it should be banned but I understand Pro Lifers point of view.
To me the way it's always been is fine, but in today's society Abortion is being abused.
To advocate a stop to that is not controversial, but I understand on both sides for their reasons for and against.
I don't think Haley who was raped should be denied it at the clinic just because Jenna has been in 7 times this year as birth control method.
Either way, the guy just talked and debated and and most importantly let them speak, whether they could or couldn't change his mind doesn't matter because there were students just as stubborn as him, but it didn't matter.
What matter is they had the conversation.
And that's not something someone should murdered for.
