Ghost of Tsushima vs Ghost of Yōtei | Final Gameplay Graphics Comparison

7:25 - the way the foliage and plants (and everything) get cut by the swords in Yotei which it didn't hapen in Tsushima, the lighting section starting at around 18:40, the dynamic weather that starts around 3:30, the huge texture quality jump at 4:18, the snow physics that start at 5:20 makes Ghost of Tshushima look bad in comparison, Ghost of Tsushima had basically no fire interaction (6:35).

Well...so much for "looking like a DLC".

Major upgrades over Tsushima came from physics and animations; sadly, graphical upgrades are underwhelming, especially when comparing to other PS5 titles in this gen.

I think it's disingenuous to post screen shots from this video. This is a game that needs to be seen in motion to be appreciated, and the video does a far better job showing off the differences..

I literally posted the video...and you decided to post still pictures from said video to do what? It's a videogame. You are supposed to see and play it in motion lmao. Pretending you did something here makes no sense.

The graphical updates are their it's just not extreme. It speaks to how great the art direction is for both of these games that they look as good as they do. Art direction= S tier.

The hatred for this game makes 0 sense and I continue to be baffled by the ridiculous takes people are making when it comes to this game.

It's GAF, dude.

GAF is the equivalent of your politically extreme friend who votes the same way you do. "Like, brother, we're all on the same side, but sometimes you're talking about how birth control in the water makes gay frogs and Obama is a vampire and we have to pull it back sometimes."

I had 0 plans to pick it up cuz of the directors remarks. Then the director got fired.

I'm good. People celebrating murder of any kind aren't people I want to support, so with the directors departure I'm fine supporting the studio.

Most folks took that director comment and didn't care what happened after. Wrote the game off.

Prior to then I was really not hyped for this game and that is all marketing's fault. Terrible showing of much older builds perhaps without the reflections etc in it.

Saros so far for its two showings is also going down the same hole of Sony has no clue how to market good games anymore…

Wokists or not, I thought the firing of that artist (not director, don't think) was a good diplomatic move. I went from grudgingly supportive to quite enthused.

Why does everyone keep saying she was a director?

I hope it's more interesting than the first game. I will say, though, my favorite quest in the first game was the one where you needed to kill the Mongols. That was way better than any other quests where you had to… kill the Mongols or dispatch the Mongols or ensure the demise of Mongols.

Like a stated above, I just highlighted that the graphical jump over Tsushima isn't a generational difference based on the graphical details such as assets, geometries, foliages, water, fire, character models, and etc.

How is it still possible in 2025 to compare graphics using compressed images in SDR, which basically lowers to minimun common denominator any pixel information?

If the director is fired, I'd be willing to give this a try on PC. After I've checked out-some story elements(the writing) more gameplay and opinions from end users about the game.

Some decent upgrades here. The foggy forests, the day time run through the fields, good leaf physics etc but the overall look is very similar. Crazy to think they had a much bigger leap going from infamous 1 to infamous 2 in the same generation.

Difference look smaller than different Assasins Creed games.

Looking at different AC games, I can tell which game they are from.

Here its difficult to tell from footage which game it is from. Situation seems similar to TOTK and BOTW.

The water looks terrible on both.
I've seen better water on Dreams creations on the ps4.
Why is it so hard for devs to make water?

It has great improvement over GOT and it makes me wonder why their Marketing team has done such an awful job selling the game. They didn't mention Raytracing at all, that's just stupid

Why does everyone keep saying she was a director?

Because anything below that when there just a rando of a team of 200 which is then fired in less than 24 hours after making the remark means they cant be unproportionally angry about it enough to justify not buying the game on that alone.

Which means you start asking questions about what other reasons... which comes down to "woman protagonist" and they dont like that.

As someone whos buying and playing the game on Thursday, I dont like it either, but im willing to see what they have in store, and what they do with the character.

Remember the whole "cycle of revenge, I must end it" TLOU2 ending got shit for? This is an entire game where the protagonist is actually doing the action the player wanted at the end of that game, you cant win.

Watched it last night.
It was mindblowing. Yotei looks like a movie compared to tsushima.
Fire sucker punch marketing team asap and just hire the analistadezgeg

It wasn't the director who made the comment. The directors of Ghost of Yotei are Jason Connell and Nate Fox, the latter who was also at the helm of Sly Cooper 1-3, Infamous 1-3 and Ghost of Tsushima.

Imagine having all this faux principled thought process regarding a game buy.
