Battlefield 6 Beta |OT| Open Beta/Closed Weapons.

Mine is preloaded now on my PS5. Got my usual group to play with.

Expecting to put at least 1000 hours into this, but then again, ARC Raiders will be getting many hours too.

do consoles get the gfx updates i.e. like AMD FSR updates? since standard gfx cards are getting their new FSR4?

wondering if thats how theyre able to get 120fps (sure some were shwing that in the beta already)

I've said it before but this is just such a non issue.

The main argument I've seen it is that everyone will use meta guns... this only happens in SBMM or ranked playlists. The average Battledad is not looking up meta weapon builds on Youtube.

There is also Portal, everyone is allowed to host one persistent server. If these people really need closed weapons I'm sure there will be dozens of servers to choose from.

Even though I look at a lot of info on what is good and what isn't in builds I always just use what feels best to me and funny enough its hardly ever whats meta

I think the Battlefield franchise as we know will be different once/if BF6 becomes a COD4 level phenomenon.

And im all for it.

Cheers Applause GIF

Been thinking about maybe selling a few pokemon cards to bankroll a whole new rig for this game and ready for Crimson Desert but still unsure if it's even worth bothering as I side lined my main rig for a Steam Deck 3 years ago LOL

I was all set to grab the Phantom edition but as I looked at the list of shit that it comes with, I realized I didn't know what all of it meant. Some Premium Token? Reddit 'tards say that it's probably equivalent of COD "Blackcell"... which I don't know anything about. And I'm not finding much on the Battle Pass cadence... like is it going to be one of the good Battle Passes where I get it once with the Phantom Edition and it poops out enough credits to chain premium battle passes in perpetuity if I really want?

I'm starting to lean towards trying to be less of a sucker and just going with the regular version.

I just looked everything up and I'm also leaning towards the standard edition.

From what I understand, the "Pro Token," included with the Phantom Edition, will get you the battle pass + 25 tier skips.

With the Standard Edition, we'll have to buy the battle pass separately which I'm assuming will be around $10 without tier skips. Battle passes + 25 tier skips generally cost ~$25 in most games.

The weapon packages seem to be skinned weapons with pre-configured attachments. We should be able to build the same exact weapon, minus the skin, once that stuff is unlocked.

The rest is skins. I don't think I've used launch skins in any game I've played for a significant amount of time. They'll be cool at first, then replaced.

So it comes down to how much you like the skins and whether you want to save time unlocking things.

damn, it really looks like they are serious with this game.
it seems like you can select hd textures and also single player. so everyone can just download what they want, nice!

also am i seeing this right? the MP is much smaller than any COD in the last 5 years?

I'm on the fence for this one. Played BF pretty extensively over the years from BF 1942 (and its expansions which were amazing), BFV, BF2, BFBC2, BFBC:V, BF3, BF4, BF1 and then skipped BF5 and 2042.
I did play a very small bit of the beta and thought the map was way too small and I was spawning right amongst enemies. I also had trouble spotting enemies and everything was brown. Oh and the character models looked quite bad.

Heard really bad things about BF 2042. What's the story with this one? Why are people so hyped for it? They don't have a server list now do they? Do they have those profile pages like they had with BF4 or is that just inside the actual game application?

2042 had a very rough launch and was clear they were originally going a different route with the game before pivoting back to the Conquest and Breakthrough mode focus. 2042 has "Specialist" instead of traditional classes. Each specialist had their own unique ability/gadget and fit into one of four classes. 2042 had 128 players modes which was a first for the series. Lackluster maps was one of the many issues the game had. Despite the launch, they've turned the game around in many ways and it's had the longest support of any Battlefield title to date.

People are hyped for BF6 because it's modern day, it has more focus on destruction, it has the classic class system back instead of specialists, and in general it's not 2042. Not to mention most people really enjoyed the beta. I myself enjoyed 2042, but I am also excited for a new entry in the series. Currently no server list in the same form of how it was in BF4 for example. The closest thing is using Portal. BF6 also introduces a new revive mechanic where you can drag your teammate to safety.

For the last bit I think you are referring to BattleLog, which they don't use anymore. 2042 and I believe V as well, have a stat/profile page on the main menu.

Wait for reviews and watch some gameplay on release. The game is astroturfed to hell and back for some reason. 2042 was the same song and dance and that shit was (still kinda is) borderline fraud.

Have a slightly better feeling about BF6 this time around but yeah, wait for non sponsored impressions on release.

Will be interesting to see if this COD pivot will bag them BF1 sales numbers. There has been a bit of a... departure since that game.

Oh man I wonder if this had anything to do with the fact there was a SINGLE ROTATING LIST for closed weapons while all other game modes had open, meaning if I wanted to play closed rush I was unable too apart from when daddy EA said I was allowed between 12AM-6PM Saturday, and now I'm not allowed closed conquest, Heaven forbid I play 3 hours of closed rush and want a change. They knew what they where doing here, first they pushed that closed weapons gave a huge class imbalance which is why it "had" to change. When that did not occur in their stats there all now "oh the single playlist we kept off screen past all the other game mode types got less players proving its what the player base wanted all along" fuck off EA just be honest. "we want open weapons so that players who play any class will want to buy our gun skins for all weapon types because where scum"

this why in beta 2 I said they should have had all the player lists closed and a single rotating open playlist, they didn't do that because they rigged the system to provide the outcome they wanted, and it was so fucking blatant.

I can't fucking wait to play this aghhhh

Edit: I do need to get new mice+kb for this.
Oh yess, I can feel the hype intensify!! Just really hoping they are well prepared and servers will hold on launch without a huge queue.
Though a bit worrying if not and you can't even play the campaign without waiting. Anyways based on the beta game should be rock solid without technical issues, so yeah, Friday can't come soon enough!

Kinda weird that COD are doing the opposite right now and the majority of the playlist are the ones they are testing are with no SBMM. like they are actually testing fairly the retention compared to what they normally go against.
