Battlefield 6 Open Beta Starts with 330k concurrent players

I've been playing for a bit and honestly, I'm not impressed. It feels like a shitty version of cod while trying to implement aspects of battlefield.

Problems:
  • Movement is not smoot and feels weird.
  • It's easy to get stuck on world geometry
  • TTK is way too fast for battlefield
  • Maps are way too small
  • Vehicle gameplay is not like old battlefield(BF3, BF4)
  • Destruction doesn't feel meaningful. There's lots of it but it feels rather cosmetic that purposeful.
  • Graphics should be theoretically good but the art style is not doing it for me.
  • Not worth $70 for sure.
Good:
  • TBD
So far, I'm becoming more convinced that I should not buy this game. There was some chatter about BF6 dethroning COD? With this current gameplay, it's impossible.

Who knew? Turns out if you don't fuck up and you make your homework, YOU GET FUCKING RESULTS.

People showed up. That's not the same as them sticking around

Plus it's fucking free

Early hype is easy. Let's talk after launch week when the dust settles

Not impressed at all.
I'am a bf veteran since 1942 and this feels more like COD MW2019 with some battlefield elements. EA is trying to win over some COD people with this game but it's just not for me.
No day 1 buy for me

After spending about 5 hours with the beta, I am okay with saying Battlefield is all the way back, and this thing has a legitimate shot at winning GOTY if it releases without major issues.

C'mon that's petty bro.

After this early access marketing bullshit the beta will be open.
Thats not petty at all.

I'm so tired of open beta being misused so much that it lost its meaning.

Closed beta = gets chosen from a signup or with a pre order etc.

Open beta = open for everyone.

I'm so tired of seeing "pre order now and get access to open beta".

It's not a fucking open beta if you need to pay for it.

No one paid to be in this early access, it was extremely simple to be in it

Just someone showing any interest in it at all and signed up for BF labs prior to July 31st got in and watch the reveal which I get was not possible for everyone

Still not hard to just not call it open beta when it ain't.

Yeah I can say that I will be buying this for sure. Looking forward to launch. There are some things they need to fix but for the most part this is a great experience overall.

Cool, you don't have to pay anything to play it

If it tends towards the map sizes I've seen so far its a negative from me. I know there are more to see, but so far it feels too kinetic and not tactical enough. ie: leans towards COD gameplay rather than early BF.

They legit included the 3 smallest maps in the game…seemingly on purpose, since it gives them a whole lot more data faster, since that's the whole purpose of a beta.

I played 3 matches like 12 hours ago. I don't have ps plus but now it's required. I hope they drop the requirement for the real open beta this weekend.

So far, the little time I played I really liked it. I don't feel the new movement is more cod, it's like a iteration of the bf4 and bfv movement. Smoother traversal. Nothing crazy. I would love a higher ttk though. I sometimes get beamed with absolutely no chance of counterplay. Like I peak, check surroundings, then run and boom, dead. Its way more tactical than cod.

This game has the worst level design out of all modern Battlefield games, and the minimap doesn't do it any favors. In regards to the gunfeel and character movement, it feels like Warzone, unfortunately.

Even the visuals and the technology that powers them feel completely uninspired compared to DICE games from the previous generation -- Star Wars: Battlefront, Battlefield 1 and Battlefield V blow this game out of the water in that regard; hell, I'd even say Battlefield 4 does so as well.

To be fair so many Battlefield veteran devs have left DICE over recent years that no wonder the developer is listed as 'Battlefield Studios' instead of DICE with this one.

Having said that i played the beta for a couple of hours and thought it looked great, and was very fun to play.

In fact my only real worry is that the game only has 8 maps at launch, and the maps (at least for the beta) seemed small by Battlefield standards. Also i'm kinf of over the middle east style setting. I wish this was more like Battlefield 4 with islands and tropical looking setting, with neon futuristic city looking maps, instead of this middle east sand and slums look.

I don't agree with anything you said but that is your opinion. as far as control goes, do whatever the guy did in the video, it worked for me. Now it's like Call of Duty movement for me.

Also, I am loving the TTK on this. It's pretty much the same as Call of Duty. And I am loving the fact that the maps are not huge. I do not want to run for a few minutes before I get sniped. It's not fun. Small to mid-size maps are the best ( especially for team deathmatch and domination type of gameplay )

I am also loving the destruction of the buildings, this way I will rocket the fuck out of the campers that stay in the same spot and just snipe their way all the god damn game.

rofl but can you in other games? The pc nerds i watch are all saying that the game is very keyboard/mouse friendly compared to a controller, even though many of them abuse the aim assist in CoD, and only use a controller.
I don't play online shooters against other people since Destiny 1 and dedicated some hours since Halo 3. But yeah in those games I did hit better. Did it help that I was young(er) and my brain didn't rot with the despair of living? Probably. But I saw one streamer 30 minutes to get the beta. That streamer was in PC and I was like: yeah… I'm disabling cross play for sure. Yes, you can put a m + kb on console as well but I'm not gonna use those on my couch. Plus, all hail console gaming:

You say that, but this is an closedish beta you had to jump through hoops to get into. The open beta doesn't even start until tomorrow. That's when we'll see the "People showed up" numbers.

Sure, 'closedish' beta for the hardcore crowd. And jumping through hoops usually means serious fans

But if the open beta can't at least match those numbers, the hype's gonna fizzle out fast

10 hours into the beta so far, have mostly played Closed Conquest and Breakthrough but I've been having a blast.

It's really nice just how useful every class is and depending on where I'm at on the map and what point I'm capturing/defending plays a lot into what class to use.

Dying to a tank, respawning as recon and sticking some C5 and blowing it to hell is so cathartic.
