Lucia and Jason....how do you see their story going down in GTA 6?

Jason's going to die or turn into the bad guy after being made to look like an idiot. You know it to be true...
I wish we lived in a time where this scenario was the least likely outcome :messenger_neutral:

I don't know though, you have to have some faith Rockstar won't go down this modern route tripe we've all been suffering under..

..Maybe.

Rockstar like money and the pendulum is swinging, they have enough time to correct the course.

They are not gonna care about spending another couple of millions to redo some scenes.

Counter argument, Sadie Adler.

But yea, it'd be nice to see them as a true 'ride or die' couple throughout.

It's not outside the realm of possibilities, for sure. It'd be nice if there were multiple story routes based on choices/mission results, but that's asking for a lot in a game as huge and ambitious as modern GTA.

I prefer a well told story without choice if i have to be honest.

Multiple ending\choices are rarely good.

they are in love and do the usual gta stuff then lucia finds out jason is an undercover cop. jason finds out lucia is biologically male. eventually they forgive each other and go out guns blazing. the end.

I don't disagree, but I just thought that having multiple routes makes it more likely that there's one that doesn't piss me off.

I can't help but think back to the mission in RDR2 where you're forced to beat the hell out of that family man, which ends up giving Arthur TB and how much I wish there was a story branch there to take it in a different direction. Especially on a 2nd playthrough.

I get what you say but i still prefer a forced story, arthur doing that and the conseguences were some of the saddest but best moments in the game.

It also felt extremely out of character for him at that point in the story, which is what I had a problem with. I think putting him in a more desperate situation would have made it more believable, but anyway I'm going outside the scope of this thread.

I don't think Rockstar would do branching story anyways, but then again they did do multiple story PoVs for GTA5, so who knows. It'd just be nice to see Jason as a capable anti-hero and Lucia's partner/equal instead of a feminist punching bag, so that's what I'd like to see.

But what if you could save Aerith from the O'Driscoll gang so she can cast Planet Protector on Arthur, making him immune to TB before he goes to his fatal debt collection run ??!

Jokes aside I agree with you of course. Multiples choices are always weaker than the choice of the writer (if the wirter is good).
FF7 would not be what it is without Aerith's death, the same as RDR 2 would not be what it is without Arthur's death (as much as these two event break my heart and balls).

edit : i swear i wrote the aerith saving Arthur joke before seeing Pejo Pejo post, only because it seems to me like the two most telling exemple of what makes a good story even tho us as player don't like it :messenger_tears_of_joy:

You are right tho it was very out of character as long as you did not play an evil Arthur. They could have found a much better way to have him get TB but his death was inevitable.

For modern audiences.

They both die within the first hour of the game. After that, you get to create your own character, who also dies shortly after, being shot by some random on the street. The game ends there.

will one betray the other, will they go out guns blazing? i honestly hope their is no betrayal. kind of bored of that Rockstar trope

will their be strip clubs? can't see it in this game because they are a couple or prostitutes. It's going to be a different kind of GTA
I am hoping for Bonnie and Clyde final showdown to go out in a blaze of glory.

One of them gets flipped by the feds/cops and betrays the other … or one of them dies and the other either goes out in a blaze of glory or ends up on a beach somewhere, after the chaos, alone and emotionally destroyed.

Sadie Adler.
I love that character, infact, I loved the whole damn lot. I was having a re run of Red Dead 2 a few weeks back and I really do have a suspicion we won't ever see this level of greatness again

It is of Lord of the Rings level of open world gaming. Nothing quite reached it before and anything after will be a pale imitation, even GTA 6.

It might look better, could play better, but it wont have the thing that makes it better, whether writing, characters or atmosphere..

It's certainly a one off.

And GTA6 online is just a new game + type mode where you play the ghost of your character wandering aimlessly the city without being to do with anything (like a noclip mode without any interaction)

Actually would be pretty ballsy for a 15 years of development, 666 trillions of $ game.
I'd buy it

GTA5 has already set the precedent of how this game will go.

Ending 1: Lucia dies
Ending 2: Jason dies
Ending 3: Super epic Hollywood B-Grade action ending where they kill all the baddies and live happily ever after.

Can't believe people think about GTA lore in 2025.

I'm almost certain Lucia is going to be the one with agency in this game and Jason is the simp just goes along. He will not out shine or, or ever make her do anything that she doesn't want to, it will always be the other way around, where she bends him to her will. Because that's the only type of story (the STRONG WOMAN) the modern AAA gaming and Hollywood knows.

the moment Thomas coughed blood on his face i was just "Yep, hes gone" ( i dont know how ppl didn't get that he was fucked at that moment ) and it was at the beginning of the game, the way he got worse and worse is just peak writing, if the game wasn't too bloated it would be on my top 3 games ever played.

Bruh yall are stupid af

I'ma use spoiler tags in case I am correct.

Jason is an undercover cop, Lucia develops real, genuine feelings for him, and he starts to slowly fall in love with her as well, then begins giving the VCPD false info to protect her, in the 3rd act, she finds out he is a pig, and feels betrayed, leading to a confrontation in the end, and when he tries to explain that he genuinely is in love with her, she doesn't believe him, player chooses who to control and the other person ends up dead.

No doubt it will be far more complex than that, but I think that is a bare basic cliff notes version of generally how it will go.

Because for one, all the wife said beforehand was that he wasn't well. She didn't specify any illness. And two, I'm going to go out on a limb and assume most people out there were unaware of ways tuberculosis could be spread.

Well they're probably going for some hybrid of Bonnie and Clyde with Natural Born Killers by using this type of pairing to commit crimes.

I am curious about the game, unsure whether I will do day 1 or not on this one.

back in the day yeah i agree, but i m talking about nowadays ppl, a lot of my friends ( maybe i just have dumb friend ) were lost on how he got sick, like, do ppl dont go to school and learn about TB nowadays ?

Also, yeah his wife doesn't give up too much , but you can see that Thomas is weak, have some difficult to breath and its coughing blood, you just need to add 1+1 to figure it out.
"ahh but he is coughing blood cause Arthur beat him", c'mon, it was not that hard of a shake for the guy to be on such short breath that caused him to cough soo hard.

Also 2: you can already see Thomas on a short breath and coughing at the Salon fight way before going the Strauss mission

anyway game is peak writing, one of the best out there.

They both realize crime is bad and people that idolize criminals are a problem, turn themselves in, and accept their sentences.
Majority of the game is them working in fast food in their 60s after being released from prison and accepting consequences of their actions

I'm sure Jason won't be a milquetoast, run of the mill attractive male character who defers in every way to his much more capable female partner.

(yes I'm aware that most games from the 00s and previous featured the same trope but with the genders flipped).

Yep. Game had fantastic writing.

Arthur Morgan does contract tuberculosis from Thomas Downes in Red Dead Redemption 2. This occurs during the 'Money Lending and Other Sins III' event. Arthur's diagnosis is confirmed when he suffers a severe coughing fit in Saint Denis and Dr. Barnes diagnoses him with tuberculosis. Arthur's journal entries further affirm that he believes he contracted the disease from Downes.
