Double Fine's Keeper - Review Thread

You always pop up in Xbox related threads with nothing good to say, I'm thinking why bother?

He used to be a massive Xbox fan

I think they be reading your posts in the Ally X thread, lol.

I'm getting not one, but two tiles, on the dash.

Which posts in the Ally thread are you referring to?

ah......Keeper just popped up on a title for me as well. Seems they are just slow getting all the updates out.

I even made the OT for the Xbox general. Both in 2013 and in 2015 after Halo 5 release, I had hated them for a while but came back to the green lands after listening to Phil Spincer. I still kinda believed they would improve and make better games. Halo in Unreal Engine was the final straw. Never again.

Slipspace was never going anywhere, at least with Unreal 5, they can greenlight multiple projects.

After the rainbow shit they snuck into Psychonauts 2 out of nowhere, i'm done with these guys.
i didn't think psychonauts 2 was so much 'woke' as it was 'inoffensive', which i actually think is even worse. particularly coming from the developer that made the original psychonauts. &, yes, this game looks to be equally 'inoffensive'...

Honestly, hard to play right now with the performance like it is. 20-30fps at 4k. RTX 5080. Played half an hour and the visuals are great. The gameplay hasn't really emerged yet other than movement and using the lighthouse light. Going to play some more tonight.

Sucks about the performance because this isn't a very long game from what I understand. I'll probably finish the game before it is fixed.

4K native? Are there DLSS options and/or frame gen?

Just played it for a little while, PC via GP.

It's alright? Very quirky, that's for sure. I'm kinda interested to see where it's all going, and given it's a short game, I'll play through it, provided it doesn't get too frustrating.

+ Art is very cool
+ Music is fantastic

- No ultrawide support with art this good is a crime against humanity
- No controller controls work, at all, despite the game showing them (and only them) in the menus for remapping purposes, etc. Having to play with kb+m.

My controller is working fine. Weird

Ya haven't played it yet, ya knuckleberry
I was doing the 67 meme.

I've failed you pop pop.

I have no idea what this should be rated but the words used by destructoid seems in line with my perception of it from everything I've seen.

Odds are I'll mess with this on gamepass this weekend if given time to see if it resonates with me or if it may be appropriate for my son.
