Emiru assaulted at TwitchCon

I saw this this morning and it is messed up.

This incident highlights a critical need for Twitch to seriously re-evaluate and enhance their safety measures. Attendees should be able to enjoy these events without fear for their personal safety.
This situation sadly reinforces the concerns raised by many, including Asmongold, about the safety vulnerabilities that exist, particularly for women, at such large gatherings

Assaulted??

Only one person pushed in between to hug her. The object he was holding was apparently a regular pen, not an HIV-infected AIDS syringe. What a fuss again.

These parasites, sorry I meant streamers, present themselves like total whores to get as much drooling weirdos into their fold, but then they are shocked when something like this is happened

They fired the guard?

I'm surprised the nut got that close in the first place but the guy did his job and stopped it immediately. That was one hell of a shove.

Dude no. Don't go there. This is fucked.
Yeah, this is fucked and there are words to convey that. Questioning if we may be using the wrong one isn't detracting from the severity of it. If anything it's vital to keeping facts straight. Generalizing words can make them lose weight or spread misinformation which muddies the waters.

Molest, violate, or abuse all accurately describe what happened here.

Looks like the guy pulled out a knife after he got pushed away. Emiru shouldn't attend another one of these conventions if security detail is so low and if it's infested with people that lack self-control.

'assault' seems a bit over used here. Not that I'm defending the creep but the word infers something way worse than what we saw here.
Bro, he was literally grabbing her by force and assuming trying to kiss her or something. That's textbook assault and sexual at that. Sure it wasn't a violent beat down but it's still classed as an assault.

Twitch can't even enforce their own TOS, let alone run an event safely.

The fact that every single TwitchCon has been a disaster makes me question why any streamer is willing to participate anymore.

Twitchcon attendees have a reputation with security for just being the absolute worst. Also the streamers themselves do not have a good reputation with women from some of the things that have happened.

Yeah, that's pretty bad. Just because she's not getting slugged in the face doesn't make it not assault.

She's not even a thot or anything based on the clips I've seen to feed into any narrative that she baits this kind of parasocial relationship.

It's just a creep being a creep, and the guy getting to just walk off is the perfect encapsulation of Twitch's shit moderation in all avenues.

Hmm, frankly I don't know who this person is…

That being said, I'm completely unsurprised by this development. The setup of twitch and these streamers is to prey and manipulate others to extract money. Unearned money for offering 0 value to society. Its then not surprising that they would attract the most unstable individuals.

This is probably one of her "fans" that has developed a deluded connection thinking that they have some sort of bond. A case of reaping what you sow. I really find it hard to care.

Every time Twitch is in a situation where they should show professionalism and competence they seems to show everyone how amateurish they actually are. I can't think of a single instance where they have made themselves look good. Preventing an unstable stranger from getting his hands on the streamers should not be a difficult task.

I agree with this. The standard response ITT seems to be using the legal definition, but if that's the case we should also be saying "allegedly assaulted" as we're going by the rule of legal procedure.

We don't use legal terms for everything in the real world for good reason. For most people an assault is a violent attack, and less ambiguous terms exist for things that aren't violent attacks.
Slight tangent, but people do the same with "fight" by using it to describe something entirely verbal. Unless people try to physically hurt each other it's not a fight, it's an argument. Being hyperbolic doesn't help convey facts.

I don't recall ever seeing it happen before the internet. Maybe it's just because it's the dramatic people writing the headlines.

Mental, proper weirdo, they wouldnt let her have her personal security.
Crazy that fucking weirdos on the internet think they have some sort of parasocial relationship with these people, you are a username that makes number go up you arent entitled to any sort of physical interaction with these people and it may be a shock but you probably dont want one either.

This prick will be sued to high heaven, it does look like he has something akin to a shank in his pocket.

She looks visibly freaked out shane none of the other hulking masses of lard didnt step in to stop him.

Considering the top streamer on Twitch is Hasan Piker, I'm not surprised by the quality of clientele Twitchcon would attract nor am I surprised they weren't planning on doing anything about it
Yeah pretty much this ... being a pretty woman is sufficient alteady to attract weirdos, being a "famous" online streamer "celebrity" will multiply that chance by a lot, so you have to take precautions by yourself and demand precautions also by the venue you are attending.

The so called "assault" was some rando(likely subscriber/follower/donator, aka simp) trying to hug her, still thats what ur avg simp does, remember my fellow leftists whiteknights/simps- women find u the more disgusting the more u simp on them, hell they even have actual terms for men who donate/give them money- paypigs/tricks, and they will never ever let u hit anyways which is understandable- they find u disgusting after all coz of ur simping =D

All in all security guy did his job so no1 got hurt, altho not gonna lie, it was bit slow, good thing the simp didnt think of doing something trully awful/more than just a hug otherwise security wouldnt be fast enough to react/prevent it.
Bro I usually agree with you but he was clearly trying and did something more there than just a hug during a meet with another fan... even a hug can be an assault depending of size, strength and placement of hands. Another thing you just dont walk and hug an unknown person, in this case being a fan you wait your turn, meet her and ask for a hug.

Check the video once more you are mostly level headed you will come to the same conclusion Im sure.

So if a woman walks down the street showing cleavage it's her fault if she gets sexually assaulted? Are you from a MENA country?
Streamers who constantly appear half-naked or in very provocative outfits are obviously more likely to be harassed or attacked. Their content is deliberately designed to attract attention and draw in viewers to make money from it. Unlike on the street, where one might pass someone by randomly, regular viewing creates a sense of intense familiarity in the viewer's imagination. Some individuals begin to perceive the streamer as close or available, which in extreme cases can lead to inappropriate approaches or attacks. Sadly.
