Assetto Corsa Rally

Now EA has dropped the ball with all its racing titles and probably no more 'Dirt/WRC' games, seems Kunos has picked up the mantle.

Early access from 13th November on Steam.

About This Game

Assetto Corsa Rally delivers an uncompromising rally simulation that captures the raw intensity and precision of the sport. Developed by Supernova in technical partnership with Kunos Simulazioni, AC Rally was developed on the base of Assetto Corsa's acclaimed physics engine, specifically refined for the needs of this motorsports discipline, and a customized build of Unreal Engine 5.

AC Rally introduces a rally-specific chapter to the Assetto Corsa franchise, designed to deliver a demanding and immersive experience where weather, road, and car setups all matter and dedicated driver training and skills are a key element to succeed in driving.
From the gravel stages of Wales to the tarmac stages of Alsace, AC Rally introduces 3D laser-scanned stages & meticulously modelled vehicles, professional co-driver support, and realistic dynamics for FWD, RWD, and AWD vehicles. Every second on the road is a high-stakes challenge, where surface grip, weather, and time of day constantly impact your every decision.

Launching into Early Access with an initial set of 10 licensed cars, 4 rally stages, from the real world of rallies, plus offline and online game modes, AC Rally invites players to master the precision of rally racing while shaping the future of the game with their feedback.

Official Licensed Cars:

• Alfa Romeo GTA 1300 Junior Gr.2 – 1972

• Citroen Xsara WRC – 2001

• Fiat 131 Abarth Gr.4 – 1976

• FIAT 124 Sport Abarth Rally 16V Gr.4 – 1973

• Hyundai i20N Rally2 – 2021

• Lancia Delta HF integrale EVO Gr.A – 1992

• Lancia Stratos Gr.4 – 1976

• Lancia Rally 037 EVO 2 Gr.B – 1984

• Mini Cooper S Gr.2 – 1964

• Peugeot 208 Rally4 – 2020

Real Stages:

• Rally Alsace - Munster

• Rally Alsace - Saverne

• Rally Wales - Hafren South

• Rally Wales - Hafren North

Game Modes:

• Assetto Corsa Rally Events with online leaderboards

• Free Practice

• Rally Weekend

• Single Rally Stage

• Time Attack with online leaderboards
With full support for triple screens, direct input racing wheels, and peripherals, AC Rally also includes a powerful physics-based damage system and multiple audio effects for authentic car feedback.

Post-launch, the game will evolve with 30+ cars, more rally stages in new locations, expanded game modes, full support for VR, and a dedicated rally school.

Assetto Corsa Rally is a focused evolution for those who Rally, not just play. This is where skill meets speed, and every moment behind the wheel is a high-stakes challenge. It's a simulation where control, courage, and calculation define success. Assetto Corsa Rally is the best rally simulation that Supernova and KUNOS Simulazioni can offer, a new chapter is started in the Assetto Corsa franchise.

While I FUCKING LOVE Delta Integrale HF, maybe Kunos will at least somewhat finish EVO first? Especially considering that the main selling point (openworld map) was delayed without any further release window.

Christ, management is all over the place with this italian team.

No way! A rally game with AC's physics should be awesome.

There's lots of info here

"Based on AC's physics engine and Unreal Engine 5, Assetto Corsa Rally is intended as a hardcore rally simulator, with a laser focus on driver and car versus conditions and stopwatch."

YES!! We need a good hardcore Rally sim. There hasn't been really anything since Richard Burns Rally.
Dirt rally bruv

It's great and all, but two early access titles at the same time? Maybe finish one game and then move on to the next.

While I really like RBR, actual rally drivers, at least some, think that both WRC and Dirt Rally2 do a better job at simulating the real thing.
The hardcoreness is a bit overdone in RBR, it basically went too far and shot over the goal of sim, sitting on the opposite to arcadesim.

Personally I like all, RBR, DR and also WRC from Kylotonn. None of them are perfect and do different things better and worse. All fused together would be interesting. Definitely interesting to get another team trying it. Even though I can't say that AC impressed me much on Ps4/5. Much of it felt half cooked.

Like a flashback to 10 years ago when Dirt Rally was released in Early Access.
It even had Wales tracks like this.

When Codemasters were shut down I thought it was game over for Rally sims.
But the Assetto Corsa team might do an even better job.

Looks like a dream come true and finally a reason to get a new PC (unless my GTX 1060 is still sufficient for stable 60 fps at medium settings).

I'm so fucking happy by this announcement. This is the game where I'll buy a full racing setup

It's ok. Rally isn't for everyone. Completely different developer btw, has been in development for 4 years.
Proper game support is though.

Evo is a huge red flag, and while Kunos here is more of a support team, I don't think they need to spread already thin resources even thinner.

Kunos is providing their tech and some help but the game is being developed by a different studio

That said yeah I am also disappointed by evo so far. VR performance in particular is just dismal

Is still draws some time and manpower from the main studio, it's not like Kunos provided the keys to their tech and that's it. Also in Steam both teams are labeled as equal dev partners with 505 publishing it.

We will see, as an Evo EA backer, I find the timing of this reveal a bit tone-deaf.

Looks very interesting, Wonder if this will be playable on a controller....

How is Evo on controller? I don't have space to use or store my wheel.

As an owner of AC Evo, I'm fine with taking their resources away and creating the best rally game ever made. Couldn't give a shit if they stopped development and went full time for Rally. Obviously speaking for myself.

They should help the lackkng team behind Evo. What a shit offering. We went with the early access because they have a good track record. But at this point they are just trying to get us to fund them their game.

Why does it look like a game from the late PS3/X360 (at best) in 2025 with flat ground and devoid of any kind of tessellation, dirt etc.? I don't get it. In 2025 we should be seeing next gen SEGA Rally stuff.
It looks way better than you're saying. But the reason is budget

Idk about this, man. It's 505 Games, they have games like A Plague Tale series which looks phenomenal and made buy a very small team. Both Assetto Corsa games look better even, especially the second one.

The thing that bothers me is the fact that they still have EVO in early access which launched at the beginning of this year (reviews are bad) and now 10 months later they launch another without finishing work on EVO first?

I smell something fishy here...

A single player linear adventure is your reference?

All the more "hardcore" sim racers go for detailed physics over pretty coats of paints. This ain't your Codemaster arcade rally.

Peoples to this day in the sim community use Richard Burns rally.

Again, maybe after repeating six times it will sink in, it's not the same team. Supernova is using Kunos' physic engine, voila.

Good to see that there's another Rally game coming. Not that I'm lacking in Rally games to play, while I've got the original DiRT Rally that I can reinstall (I don't have the 100 GB to spare for DiRT Rally 2.0, but I own it) and Art of Rally for a less simulation-focused Rally game.

I think I'll wait for Early Access to finish up, unless Assetto Corsa Rally is so well done at the start to justify getting it early. And I don't know if there will be controller support, but this looks like something that I'd want a racing wheel setup for. Waiting for the Logitech G29 to go on sale again, but I've got more important things to be saving up for.

Still can't believe this is even a thing.

Can't wait for mods. Big open world to cruise around in with great rally physics is a dream of mine.

You crazy. AC Rally looks solid graphically. Already better than Codies WRC which wasn't hard considering DR2.0 looked better than that. Poor Codemasters. Who woulda thought EA would dismantle them....

Epic drive!

The forest around the track is dense. The details in the openings looks realistic and I would be curious to compare with the real track, someone will inevitably do it. Seem stutter free? That's the most worrisome thing with UE but here it seems fine performance wise. Also hopefully they use lumen, especially for night stages.

Yes please.

Good mod support if they can make lots of unique stages would be amazing.

Recently got into Richard Burns Rally through rallysimfans.hu and the stage list is incredible. I've been doing some league events and going into stages completely blind constantly is such a breath of fresh air coming from dirt rally which had like 4 stages get cut up into smaller and smaller parts going backwards etc.

It's pretty clear from the description)))), but techical partnership is still a partnership, even if they're not working on the game directly and just providing their tools and tech support.

There's plenty more in different genres. Anyway, even small teams can do wonders sometimes.

I guess I expected too much in terms of visuals after Asseta Corsa series and a game which is using UE5.

But if the game will end up being great and on par with the best Rally games, good. Plus, since the game is using UE5 (hopefully based on the latest version), we can do .ini magic and make it look even better.

Honestly, i would rather have a hardcore F1 Simulation than a Rally game. I miss the days of F1 by Geoff Crammond and a new sim would be awesome.

If nanite is used for less lod popping and lumen for lighting consistency and night time, I would be really happy. The game will support mods in future so it would have a long lasting community like RBR and stages could be as detailed as the modders want it to be. RBR which is what, 20 ish years old? Received laser scanned rally stages not long ago, so I can't imagine what a stronger engine and the legacy of Kunos Assetto Corsa's legendary modding community will bring.

It's great news to know that another Rally game is in development. This early build of Assetto Corsa Rally looks promising. Really interested to see how this turns out.
