It's supposed to be a SIM, unlike Gran Turismo that at very best only tries to be.Damn that's a shame.
Really want a good racer that I can use controller on - I miss Gran Turismo not being on PC

They really aren't though. Their tarmac physics suck but apart from that they were very realisticDirt rally as cool as the games are, are more on the arcade side of things.

Nah that's just elitism. Dirt rally games are simulators, just because the physics aren't on the level of RBR doesn't make it arcade in any stretch of the imaginationWhen the top times can be made with a controller, its arcadey mate. Fake difficulty by having brutal collisions for a 2 inch polygon sticking out is not "very realistic".

That's not what you originally said though, you said they were more on the arcade side of things. That's where the Dirt games lie. But yea I definitely have faith that this game will scratch the RBR itchIts not elitism, its widely accepted that Dirt rally games are not upper tier sims.
Sim ----- SimCade -----Arcade
------------------------------![]()
They're simcades
There's a world of simulation above that and HOPEFULLY with Kunos' physic engines that Assetto Corsa Rally goes above and beyond simcade and leaves Dirt rally in the dust for years to come.
+ Great RWD handling, felt really well.
+ Best asphalt handling in any rally game?
+ If not the best tracks ever made in a rally game...
= Graphics are solid
= FFB is solid
- AWD felt characteristic of FWD
- braking on asphalt was strange
Is it Unreal Engine 5?
Anyways sounds good.
"Dynamic weather...." More like... "Check out my rig and barely seeing the washed out screen"
Playable on Deck?
Also:
This is tempting.
Little Deck, lol. sounds cute somehow XDI pulled the trigger. I'll let everyone know if the little Deck that could can run it or not.
Yeah. I'll try to fiddle with the sencetivity sliders in the game to see if it's fixabl, but the game clearly meant to be played with the steering wheel.I'm playing with a gamepad and the steering wheel animations looks bugged in-game from the inside camera. Like they are displayed at 100x speed, it looks like the game is having a seizure.
This game is way way harder than Dirt rally on controller.
Or maybe JUST MAYBE it's because Rally doesn't have to simulate 15 (or what is the number) other cars physics and driving model during the race? This just goes to show when devs really know what they're doing
What I clearly meant was GPU performance, so can you please explain how does it all have anything to do with the insane VRAM requiremnt? VRAM can't process physics and driving model or simulate 15 other drivers on screen, it's main purpose is to store and load a shit ton of visual information, while CPU is doing processing work for driving model, physics etc. AC games was always hard on CPU so it's completely understandable, but VRAM requirement is insane while the game doesn't even look all that good and I would argue that RENNSPORT looks better.Or maybe JUST MAYBE it's because Rally doesn't have to simulate 15 (or what is the number) other cars physics and driving model during the race?
Speaking about performance btw...

Unbelievable difference given that AC Rally has a shit ton of foliage and overall more demanding visually especially during rainstorm with even 50% of wet surface intencity, whereas Evo looks flat most of the time. And look at the VRAM too, it's x2 times less (!!!!) than what Evo eats up. This just goes to show when devs really know what they're doing while working with UE5 on a much deeper level, just like Ninja Theory did with Hellblade II. I mean, yeah, EVO uses their own proprietary engine, but it doesn't look like they know how to optimize it properly at all, not to mention insane VRAM requirements for no good reason. I wonder which version of UE5 AC Rally uses, but it simply can't be x.0-x.3 for sure

I wonder if there's a compatibility list for the steering wheels cuz there's a lot of them out there and it's kinda tempting to buy one now.
The release 0.1 of Assetto Corsa Rally Early Access Program is OUT NOW on Steam!
This is more than just a rally game — it's a true rally simulation experience, crafted by rally enthusiasts for rally enthusiasts.
Take on the challenge across:
4 laser-scanned rally stages
10 ultra-detailed, iconic cars
Breath-taking visuals powered by Assetto Corsa's renowned physics engine
Developed by Supernova Games Studios in technical partnership with Kunos Simulazioni, and published by 505 Games.
This game is way way harder than Dirt rally on controller. Holy shit. This is the one I've been waiting for. I need to splurge on a sim rig setup sometime in the future as the game progress and adds a ton of content.
This is THE rally game of the next 10+ years I can feel it. WRC license apparently left codemaster and had another project, likely Kylotonn as the developer, if I was them today I would be sweating bullets.
