I don't see it being lower than a PS5 Pro, but what do I know...
Now that we have "an Xbox handheld" for about 1K$ and that the new console is having one chip per waffle suddenly the usual suspects predict the end of the subsidised hardware and a 5 billion dollars PS6 (with a 160bit bus, of course).I hope you guys are aware 2027 falls under the current admin term.
And there's no saying the next admin will revoke them, the Biden admin retained some of Trump's china tariff's when he took office in '20.
Kepler did say what I said, and looking at things, it makes the most sense.Though you may be right, this is not known yet. The only insider who has commented on this is SneakersSO and he has suggested this to not be the case. He suggested there will be no Xbox console game SKU at all next gen i.e. they are all PC games.
If that is indeed the case, we may be getting a stripped down Windows machine that plays BC titles through another locked down VM (or some proprietary DRM layer if they are running natively) that is exclusive to the "console" SKU. And the OEM built PCs just don't have the BC part. And the holy grail would be to get play anywhere universally adopted so that distinction becomes less and less relevant.
The PS5 Pro is $750, I just can't see where there's a market where new hardware that's more powerful would launch under that. Now that we have "an Xbox handheld" for about 1K$ and that the new console is having one chip per waffle suddenly the usual suspects predict the end of the subsidised hardware and a 5 billion dollars PS6 (with a 160bit bus, of course).
Look, shit will be expensive if thinks keep escalating, but that doesn't mean that everything is going to have the same margins. Specially since PS has been subsidising its main console for 30 years now. Do you want to avatar bet on the PS6 price, adamsapple ?
I think that was Kepler's speculation on how this could go. And yes, that does make the most sense.Kepler did say what I said, and looking at things, it makes the most sense.
I don't really see them abandoning their dedicated Xbox development environment.

Your last two screenshots (basically the intro of the game) are CGI.Doesn't DS2 look like that first UE5 video?

"Five hundred and ninety-nine US dollars".700 is doable but anything above 1000 bucks is hard sell.
No, I don't do avatar bets.
"Game library" is not a strong argument, most people play a game once and then move on to the next one. Or they have 1-2 online games which they play forever and those are cheap to buy usually. So you are telling me $100 more would push a customer who doesn't already have a PC to go buy a PC and start building their game library from scratch?
If they are out to buy a console, they are going to buy a console, whichever fits their taste and budget. Changing gaming habits and ecosystems over a couple hundred bucks (one-time) is, frankly, bizarre. It might make them hold back till prices drop or discounts, or continue playing on the older generations till the games eventually dry up, but that's about it.
The PS5 Pro is $750

PlayStation 5 price changes in the U.S.
New prices effective starting on August 21.blog.playstation.com
Sure. Even if I accept your counter, I just don't think $200 more 2 years from now is sufficiently higher priced to change habits and brand loyalty. Phones cost as much or more."Game library" is not a strong argument, most people play a game once and then move on to the next one. Or they have 1-2 online games which they play forever and those are cheap to buy usually.
If consoles become sufficiently high-priced, people will absolutely consider alternative options, and there are more and more of those around, with handheld PCs and the Switch 2, whatever SteamOS box Valve is working on, gaming laptops etc.
I'd pay $1200 for a console (not an Xbox, mind you) if it meant I could get significantly better hardware than what's in the base model. That's far from a mainstream product at that point, but fuck... I wish Sony would have the balls to actually deliver something high-spec.
Not as bad asThis thread is hilarious.
Imagine being buttered up for a $1200 console but all you can worry about is whether or not the projected price for the ps6 is too low.

You can not go to crazy with the price, if you want to sell over 100mio units.$600 is too low for a next-gen console, the PS5 Pro is still $700.
Sony is free to charge anything now. There is no competition.699 for PS6. It will go down well especially after the Pro price. IMO Sony could do cheeper but will want the scalpers profits for themselves. Hopefully they keep selling the ps5 at a lower price. 399.
699 for PS6.
There's no way they can get away with that price for essential, it's the same PS+ since forever and nothing in its offering its that crazy unique and/or important that people would gladly pay $100 per year, they paywalled multiplayer behind PS+ but also made their games multiplatform, anyone could just build a PCMR and get free MP with Sony games on Steam
700 is doable but anything above 1000 bucks is hard sell.
You can see it if you contemplate that Sony takes the "hit" as they always do, while earning obscene amounts of cash. The PS5 Pro is $750, I just can't see where there's a market where new hardware that's more powerful would launch under that.
That's just the logic my brain is using.
But the PS4 Pro was obviously subsidised and the PS5 Pro is shamelessly priced to cover cost or give gains. Simple as.And I'm not saying anything controversial either. With PS4 Pro to PS5, we have one example where the next-gen console was priced the same as the last gen's Pro version.
Well…No, I don't do avatar bets.
Oooffff that's a good question. With or without disc?
I do think personally it will be $699 as a base, but that could be based on internal data on how the Pro does/did at that price point.
The Pro isn't the same console. We all know ps6 will cost closer to $1400 because sony knows there are suckers out there willing to buy the same console twice. (pro)

1.3xHow much more powerful can we expect Magnus to be? 1.5x or higher?
