You removed it? Best I've done was turn it off.
That way the Xbox button on the controller can bring up Steam Big Picture mode.
I removed Riva Tuner Statistics and Afterburner I like the new Steam Stats better.
But I have to use Gamebar to show FPS in PC Gamepass.
Yep, removed everything, from the Xbox app to Game Bar and everything in between also all the Intel and Asus stuff thanks to Revo Uninstaller. I don't play on Steam Big Picture mode, just regular Steam and my TV shows FPS so my computer is as clean as it can get

Yes and no. Capture tools eats performance? Well, no shit, Sherlock. But doing this by default without warning is shit. Luck those like me that turn off game bar.

The feature is awesome I was playing oblivion on my xbox ally x and you hold the library button and I asked it what to do next or where I should go and it pointed me in the right direction all without leaving the game.
I know people hate AI and stuff but it was genuinely useful and I ended up doing like an hour session in it.

Those still on win10 I would check the the installed programs. Windows installed copilot without my consent. I just randomly saw it on my taksbar a few days ago and was like wtf is dis shit. Instantly deleted.

Yeah, Nvidia drivers just arent as good on Linux. They work, but just not as well.
The way to go is to get an Enterprise license For Windows and strip out all the crap.

Well they've definitely made a lot of headway with the Linux nvidia drivers in the last 1-2 years, and last fall you started to see them implement the DLSS features one by one until nearly all of them are working pretty well. It's really just general DX12 performance, especially in ray-tracing that's still weaker. If Nvidia had open-sourced the drivers, they'd likely already be caught up to AMD in outperforming Windows by now. Proton compatibility is also significantly better as well over the last 1-2 years.
Still, if Nvidia could get to within 5%, and keep the trend of better frame-times with reduced stuttering vs Windows, I'd say it's would cross the threshold into offering better overall performance...but it's not quite there yet.

I'm pretty sure that much of the impetus for all the improvements made in the last few years regarding Nvidia Linux drivers...are primarily because of AI models being so prevalent on Linux to go into those data centers for companies like OpenAI. The gains they make around all things Cuda have crossover benefit for gaming.

It uses less resources (=much less gpu fans noise) on my machine than Steam's version.
Slightly off topic and a PSA to anyone who pays for Office 365 annually at home or for work. Microsoft increased the renewal price and you have to choose not to pay for the COPILOT bullshit. It's caught a few people off guard. Even if you have auto-renew on it adds co-pilot from what I can tell.

Open Powershell with Admin rights.
To remove Copilot: dism /online /remove-package /package-name:Microsoft.Windows.Copilot
And to remove Recal: dism /online /disable-feature /FeatureName:Recall
You can check which packages are installed with this command: DISM.exe > C:\packages.txt /online /get-packages
Then go to C:\ and there is a txt file called packages.txt, that list what is installed.

Checking for Recall say its "disabled" AND "removed".
Checking for Copilot do not even find it (not installed at all)
Wish I could move from Windows. I use Mac OS for regular use, so it's just gaming that is for Windows. I also use my Steam Deck for most indies and older games.
Devs really need to figure out anti-cheat on Linux and driver makers (mainly the N) need to push and optimize every feature to Linux.
Maybe if us customers push hard enough, it'll become a reality. Because Windows is getting bloated like a fat hog.
There's some shoehorned stuff in Mac OS too, but man, it's nothing like Windows constant nagging features in your face. Turn Siri off? It stays off, never reminding you ever again.
