They can even have it take place decades after the fall of earth with a new character. Either feature an older Isaac in the story or just find some other way to let us know what happened to him and Ellie. Maybe a novel or comic.

we don't need a remake. we got a solid remake of DS1 and it did not sell enough as is.

if any money is to be spent, at least move the story forward to possibly appeal to those that have no desire to replay something they have already played.

but as it is.. this franchise is dead until such point that EA sells it to someone else.
