Seems like it. Cant quite crack 13k.Slightly lower tonight than last night it seems?
Without knowing how much revenue, it's useless to known rankings. Usually people wildly overestimate how much games sell on Steam. It means revenue.

Seems likely. I would have expected 2x Avowed.Lower than Avowed which is crazy.
Defo not cp2077, i love that game, it has nothing woke in it, lets not forget its setting, future distopian america, dark parody of it, to be exact, i wouldnt be able to play hundreds of hours in it if it was even lil bit of woke, simple as that, making parody of all kinds of woke dogmats/their deragment doesnt make game woke, it actually makes game more based.
Quick proof incase some1 didnt play it even early on, u can fk even that bossbitch meredith(or u can just leave w/o fucking her, which pisses her off ;P), hell u can even get iconic vibrator toy/weapon from right there, nuff said no woke game would allow for such stuff
> expensive af
> released when you have got BF6, Arc Raiders and even fucking Escape from Duckov. I can buy all of these 3 or Outer Worlds 2 Premium Edition
> sequel so you kinda get the feeling that you need to play the first which is quite the mid-ok game at best, the first game is also 75% off rn so I guess most are playing that first
> UE5, heavy requirements, apparently game runs better than other UE5 but still
I did like the first one, not love. I liked the shooting, it was punchy and fun. I haven't finished the DLCs so I think I'll go back and replay the whole game if I have time from BF6, Duckov and lately I have been addicted to Gunfire Reborn which is insanely cool.
TL, DR; horrible timing, very expensive vs gamepass, nothing revolutionary, sequels don't entice new players easily, heavy requirements
I reject anyone saying Steam charts don't provide insight into how a game does though. I ain't got no time for such buffoonery!
Unrelated but peep thisThat's exactly why I tagged you
You're big into steam numbers but here they're being thoroughly disregarded.![]()
They're an indication, but far from the full picture as they depend on how heavily PC-centric a game is. Sillent Hill 2 remake was a good recent reminder that they can be really off.I reject anyone saying Steam charts don't provide insight into how a game does though. You talking about the sales estimates from VGinsights, etc? Yeah, I don't bother with those. You might as well pull sales data from VGChartz. Nah I'm good. They're an indication, but far from the full picture as they depend on how heavily PC-centric a game is. Sillent Hill 2 remake was a good recent reminder that they can be really off.
No, I'm talking about the official announcement from Konami about over 2 million sales when steam ccus were a little over 20k, which painted a completely wrong picture about how well the game did.You talking about the sales estimates from VGinsights, etc? in Europe (excluding UK), Silent Hill 2 remake initial week sales had PS5 at 78% of the total sales and PC at 22%.No, I'm talking about the official announcement from Konami about over 2 million sales when steam ccus were a little over 20k, which painted a completely wrong picture about how well the game did.
This is crazy cuz retardera went nuclear against that gameWell, it has a lot of LGBTQ+ friendly messaging.l and themes. Your…ahem…female character can have a dick lol.
I guess I missed the conversation where people said it was a flop based on Steam CCUs alone. No, I'm talking about the official announcement from Konami about over 2 million sales when steam ccus were a little over 20k, which painted a completely wrong picture about how well the game did.
I never understood why they tried so hard to rip off fallout with the low tech 50s aesthetic.OK well, I tried it out but I wasn't feeling it. I just requested a refund before my 2 hours were up.
Reminded me too much of the first Outer Worlds. I don't care for the millennial writing. It feels like they're trying sooooooo hard to be funny and witty. It makes it really difficult to take anything seriously or to give a crap about whatever objective I'm trying to accomplish.
Maybe I'll give it another shot when it goes on sale but I'd rather have my 70 bucks back right now. It didn't grab me like I hoped it would.
Yeah I always thought it felt so try-hard, between the wannabe Fallout kitschy retro-futurism vibe + the wannabe Idiocracy humor where people mindlessly repeat corporate slogans. It's like if you let Reddit write a WRPG.I never understood why they tried so hard to rip off fallout with the low tech 50s aesthetic.
Just make your own game.
The first area of The outer worlds 1 pretty much summed up what the entire game would be. If you saw the first hour, you saw the entire game.
I'd argue Avowed helped this game do worse because of it's middling reception.Lower than Avowed which is crazy.
That's because one of the devs made some innocuous statement, I don't even recall what, and they decided it was -phobic of some sort - then they (CDPR) tried softly to make sure they did the DEI virtue signal shut. This is crazy cuz retardera went nuclear against that game
Bought the deluxe edition with the expansion pass last week. Not even downloaded it because Im finishing up Bloodlines 2.
I never understood why they tried so hard to rip off fallout with the low tech 50s aesthetic.
Obsidian has been dying since Chris Avellone left. Microsoft is destroying the studio that gave us Fallout New Vegas.
They really doubled down on that in OW2 as well (from the little bit I've seen). So many cranks, dials, levers, old timey typewriter keyboards, even computer terminals look like old fashioned cash registers or something. Everything looks like children's playground equipment.
Avowed had hype of being fantasy, but it turned out garbage quick enough.Lower than Avowed which is crazy.
Talent is like the 6th most important thing these companies look for when deciding if they should hire someone. You know I'm really starting to think there's not a lot of talented leads at these western companies
You know, I think a lot of people can't really tell anymore when something in a game comes from a real creative impulse versus when it's been dropped in to tick some ideological box. The line between genuine storytelling and message-pushing has gotten really blurry. It's easier to put a stamp on a game at this moment based on a checklist, even not knowing what that stamp means anymore. This is crazy cuz retardera went nuclear against that game
I just saw on the Xbox PC store that they literally have a category for LBGTQ+ games. I dont mind that these games exist...people can make what they want. But it is as strange as when I see categories for black people. Like why are you trying to single us out? I like all kinds of games and I've never once looked for a game specifically made for me like im somehow a different audience than the gaming community at large. Its pissing me off.
Back on topic, The outer worlds 2 is in that category and it almost makes me not want to support this game though I have some interest in playing it. I dont need to be catered to as a black person. Its just so disingenuous. Debuting at these numbers on Steam kinda points to the lack of hype. The trailers were not impressive. As a matter of fact...they were offensive. Who remembers "and no you can't sleep with them"? I do...and it also pissed me off. Not because I won't have the ability to sleep with some game character. But because they are advertising that like it's a feature. Wtf is wrong with these folks?

Someone mentioned few replies back the supposed "woke" stuff from game 10-15 years ago, which are now considered classics.
What can I say, its my mid November game along with cod.Wow, you're so cool!
As someone else pointed out, it probably didn't sell much on Steam. The majority of the sales likely came from PS5. Steam CCUs don't tell much about how well something is selling on PS5.No, I'm talking about the official announcement from Konami about over 2 million sales when steam ccus were a little over 20k, which painted a completely wrong picture about how well the game did.

Bro, woke game/movie is very peculiar thing, look at this movie cast:That's because one of the devs made some innocuous statement, I don't even recall what, and they decided it was -phobic of some sort - then they (CDPR) tried softly to make sure they did the DEI virtue signal shut.
Again, game is great; loved it! But it certainly wasn't espousing any value sets that aligned anywhere with the right, and nor was the dev team after that dev said whatever he said.
Tbf the steam score is also dropping pretty fast. It already has a lower score than the first game. So maybe people just don't like it.I want to point out that given that both threads on GAF have people coming in and moaning about LGTVBBQ+ stuff and looks etc, but this thread is much bigger and has a larger presence on NeoGAF (its an established studio after all)

I would like to say I think both these games where great, the difference though is in the price. Microsoft overreached with their 60-90 price tag. Im not saying they should of sold it for £25 but they sure as hell shouldn't have started at £60 and £90 for the deluxe is a joke.
We can't go back but I honestly believe that is the biggest issue, the game is great so Its not that, so it has to be the pricing. It puts the point across that if you overstep the perceived value of your product then you can make less money than something selling at half your price. Microsoft need to be flexible on their pricing on a product by product basis, their original attempt of selling this for £70-100 before dropping it by £10 showed they where aware, but they massively underestimated the value gamers saw, it needed a £20 price cut at least not £10 to be competitive, this also is why the first game sold more, it was a lower price.

yesSo is it a good game to play for the story if i never played the first one?
why is it woke? The game is ugly and a woke slop.
