What is it that you want?

I want

Refined standalone game of Spies Versus Mercenaries from Splinter Cell : Chaos Theory. I'd pay full price!
Be able to play the OG Xbox version of Splinter Cell Double Agent on PC
New Splinter Cell after the Remake's release
Sequel to Chrono Trigger
Final Fantasy XVII to go back to turn based. Either tactical like X or Active Time Battle like IV through IX
Be able play 3D Dot Game Heroes on PC
New Day of the Tentacle
New Gabriel Knight
New Phantasmagoria
New Leisure Suit Larry
Elden Ring 2 / Dark Souls 4
Sekiro 2
New 3D Mario
New Banjo
New 3D Zelda
Axiom Verge 3
Long and puzzle-heavy Resident Evil with fixed camera angles like RE 1-2-3 on PS1

More single player focused fps games Ala half-life, fear, nolf, undying, deus ex. Return of splinter cell and thief.
(and remaster those games for switch2 please)

Release megaman legend games on modern systems. Make sotn2 and fftactics2. New Vagrant story, parasite eve, vandal hearts, etc..

A real freelancer sequel that lives up to the OG. A modern take on the Descent franchise. A new undying or Alice game or something similar.

Return of Sim city (in it'd classic form), black and white, dungeon keeper...

More wrpgs in the style of might and magic, ultima, morrowind, Gothic etc... Where the world was mysterious and massive. Where you either built a party or played as a lone hero. Either way is fine but please do it that respects the aethetic. (No woke shit injected Ala outer worlds).

For the multiplayer side of things.... Bring back unreal tournament and fing Quake.

For retro... Release old games to own on new systems. I have 4 mini consoles (gene, snes, ps1, tg16) all loaded with roms. I shouldn't need this. I should be able to buy them as a package like the Genesis collection does it, or a $1 a pop.

End the gaas and p2win push and show gen z and a what good games really are.

I can go on and on

I mean, what exactly do you wish from gaming industry to be happy?
From consoles not much, I've beaten %20 of what I want and that is fair enough to keep me playing. From PCs a lot, the value system for what you paid for, from DIY or prebuild components down to the net code and game development is completely destroyed.

* The Elder Scrolls VI.

* Elden Ring 2.

* AAA Super Metroid remake with Lizardcube handdrawn art.

* Multiple Steam Machine devices with different specs.

* SteamOS installable on regular PCs and with great software support on Nvidia gear.

* Valve partnering with Epic, Microsoft, Ubisoft etc for full screen versions of all stores on PC on the SteamOS UI.

* Sony releasing everything day 1 on PC. If they do it through a launcher then the above is important for Sony's store too.

* Demos on all games. Discount when purchasing at the end of the demo.

* All achievements and screen shots from all launchers on the same place on the SteamOS UI.

* Standardized save syncing between launchers.

* AAA VR games from the main teams of big AAA devs.

* Cheaper PC parts.

* Cheaper subscription services.

That's it for now.

GTA 6 everything else is irrelevant.
Replicate PS2 and early 360 days basically. More frequent game releases, more experimentation in the AAA space, no woke writing. At no point in my life there have been this few interesting game releases for me to look forward to. For 2026 it's so far only 3 games: RE Requiem, 007 (maybe) and GTA VI.
I bet u play life is strange, and watch the Wedding singer most weekends.

The end of 500 year development cycles for some of my favorite game series - such as Elder Scrolls. Less focus on live service, microtransaction, "platform" games, "roadmaps", etc.. Product in box, completeish, etc.
