[Rumor] FromSoftware Spent More Time On The Duskbloods’ Gameplay Than Any Other Title, and It Will Be the Most Innovative

As FromSoftware continues working on Elden Ring Nightreign, the Japanese development studio is also hard at work on The Duskbloods, which reportedly is a game the developer has spent time on fine tuning gameplay the most.

As reported in a new video shared by Ziostorm, a Chinese journalist who provided accurate information on Elden Ring before the game's release, recently revealed some small, exciting tidbits about FromSoftware's upcoming Nintendo Switch 2 exclusive. The game was reportedly greenlit even before the marketing campaign for Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice started, and it is the game that FromSoftware has spent the most time on gameplay among all of their games.

All the time spent on prototyping The Duskbloods' gameplay is reportedly paying off, as the game, although PvEvP, features many innovative gameplay elements that the team is really proud of. So much so that the journalist speculates the game could influence games from other studios as much as the aforementioned Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice did, especially with the parry mechanics that are now prevalent in almost every action game.

Besides providing this small bit of information on The Duskbloods, the known Chinese journalist also revealed that we should see more of the Elden Ring Nightreign DLC, The Forsaken Hollow, soon. Apparently, three more trailers should be released before the game launches on December 4 to showcase the two new Nightfarers - the Scholar and the Undertaker - and the new content in a final launch trailer. As the expansion is nearing release, these trailers, if they are indeed coming, shouldn't be more than a few days away.

When it was revealed during the first Nintendo Switch 2 Nintendo Direct ever earlier this year, many, including myself, jumped at the screen at the first footage of The Duskbloods, as the game looked like a sequel to the beloved Bloodborne. However, the Switch 2 exclusive is going to be a much different game, having been built from the ground up as a multiplayer experience, which left a few disappointed, as FromSoftware is primarily known for its single-player experiences with multiplayer elements sprinkled on top.

I wish it wasn't MP focus game because really like the visual style of Duskbloods.

Elden Ring was an innovative game because theyve added open world to Dark Souls, this will be the most innovative game in history because theyre adding two open worlds to Bloodborne.

Mmm... will be interesting to see what the gameplay actually is. I'm usually not into MP games, but Splatoon won me over. Maybe this will as well.

It was more than in Elden Ring you better traversal and better character movement.

The amount of build you could make in Elden Ring is better than Demon, Dark Souls and Bloodborne.

I didn't care about this game until I got caught up in night reign which is super addicting. If it's anything like that then I am in.

Nah, I'll never stan for multiplayer games unless its SOCOM II. Fuck this goofy game.
Yeah, for me the biggest pull from From's games is the single player sense of solitude and exploration.

I am sure Duskblood will have good gameplay, but the sense of adventure will be lost due to multiplayer.

Nightreign was honestly pretty fun. Had a few dozen runs with some friends and it made for a good time.

I still wish this was a single player game, though.

Battling out in multiplayer is a large part why Demon Souls/Dark Souls got so big in the first place. The introduction of that mechanic made From what they are today.

I did not forget about the horse, nor the fingers. I was merely joking above, very serious this time

If this game ends up receiving great scores like Bayonetta 2, i expect some meltdowns here by just reading some comments… This is a new IP, i don't get the negativity 🤣.

I really liked Elden Ring even despite performance issues. But MP focused game and on weaker S2 hardware… yeah, that's not it for me. (And lack of S2 on top).

If you read this article you may think that there were NO parry mechanic before and Sekiro was the first game in history with a parry mechanic.. what a bunch of bullshit!

If it's pve bloodborne with some mp pvp sprinkled around, I'm in,
If it's pvp mp with some pve bloodborne sprinkled around, I'm out.
At the veryyyyyy least, will wait for pc release if its pvp for like $15

People who suck at games always complain about multiplayer. Just let mad haters be mad 🤷‍♂️.
Or some people just don't like MP games and don't pay online subscriptions.

I'm not saying I'm "great" games but managed beat and platinum game like Sekiro so I would say I'm least decent at games but I just don't enjoy multiplayer.

Multiplayer and it being a Switch 2 exclusive killed all the excitement for this project. You already know the game will run 15fps average on that shitty console.

Hopefully Geoff will have a trailer ready for FromSoftware new project because this shit just ain't it.

I think that Nintendo is paying for the development but the IP is owned by Fromsoft. If true, if the game is successful probably Duskbloods 2 can come to PC. But we don't know the agreement.

Ah yes, the classic 'just play a different game' defense

Bold strategy; ignore the reaction and prove the criticism is valid in the same sentence
The game was designed as a MP, and looks like they showed the game to others companies, if this game is going to exist is thanks to Nintendo and i am glad that we are going to receive a new IP for Fromsoft, some of you are negative with everything these days… A least wait until you see some gameplay.
