I just like watching romance anime lately.
My recommendation is The Angel Next Door Spoils Me Rotten (the animation is pretty mid, but I really enjoy the romance)
Please also try 100 Girlfriends Who Really, Really, Really, Really Love You. It's more of comedy than romance, but there's a lot of good romance scene.

been a while since i watched an actual romance series that isn't a romcom.
maybe A Sign of Affection was my last one. college aged romance show with girl that uses sign language

I plan to see the Chainsaw Man movie this weekend. I finished season 1 of the anime. The animation is high quality - there is a lot of computer animation which gives the anime a unique style, and a 3d-like quality.

Makima is an intriguing character. I am curious to find out what she is up to. Denji I found to be grating, but maybe he improves.

The movie does flesh out the characters a lot. And then has the longest greatest climax ever. Try to do imax if there's an option.

Aaaah I knew there was a new Nanoha anime coming, but why didn't anyone tell me about the manga?

I'm only three chapters into EXCEEDS and we already have Nanoha being badass (her becoming a plane otaku made me chuckle though) and some cal-backs to old Takamachi-family lore from Triangle Hearts (if you know, you know :messenger_smirking:). The art is pretty nice so far too, can't wait to see where the story goes.

Reminds me I still haven't watched Detonation and Reflection. I'll end up rewatching the entire series and movies at this rate...

a new trailer for Cat And Dragon is out. set to air in July 2026, I've been following the manga for a long time and it's a very well told fantasy story and very heartwarming. and the dragon being voice by Takehito Koyasu is just the icing on the cake.

Witch Hat Atelier new trailer dropped. another manga adaptation that I'm really looking forward too. and they seem to have done a great job recreating how beautiful the artwork of the manga is.

I'm all caught up on the manga Tawawa On Monday. I love it and all the WAIFUs are top tier in that manga. I saw the first season of the manga and plan on watching the second season sometime soon

Will Ferrell Lol GIF

It would be hilarious if MC says no to her next chapter

This is what I've been reading

Finished watching Another last night. Solid horror anime. I've been slacking this year with anime. That was only the fourth series that I've watched.

Anyone reading Tower Dungeon?

What an awesome manga from the legendary Tsutomu Nihei. Really enjoying it, probably the best manga I've discovered in 2025.

I don't remember which station it was at (somewhere near Kobe), but it made me smile:

It threw me that it wasn't in Japanese.

Positive note time. I managed to get my bocchi the rock and Lycoris Recoil collectibles from my sisters old land lady that's being a cunt. Still got my vinyl collection and my £2k speakers though. 😒

I've been enjoying "The Unwanted Undead Adventurer" anime series.

I'm not a fan of isekai, power-trip type anime. This is isekai-adjacent (it is set in a medieval world, but no one got hit by a truck and transported to it). The power progression is measured so far. Hopefully it remains good over the rest of the season. Apparently there will be a season 2.

Saw the JJK Executioner movie in theatre yesterday - it was a huge downer. It was 100% what they said it was going to be, but the execution [hue hue hue] was just off.

Edit: removed long rant because fuck it

6/10.

Post shibuya was an absolute dumpster fire in the manga..even if the arc started out interesting. Imho.

Finished Usogui finally and started reading The Drifting Classroom(1972) and wow this is soo much better than i expected.

Read the first 13 chapters sofar.

Watched Solo Leveling, fuck it, I enjoyed it, I know people say it's bad and basic because it's just numbers go up the anime but that had a lot of hype shit moments.

Where do you guys get your physical manga? I'm trying to get a few series but can't find half of the books from them, unless I want German, Spanish, or Italian versions. Preferably a UK source, although I guess US could be OK depending on import duties and such.

Currently watching Demon Girl Next Door.

A young girl wakes up one day with horns and a tail, learns she's part of an ancient clan that was cursed with poverty, and that she's the one to break the curse. In order to do this she has to defeat a magical girl and bath a statue in her blood. Fortunately there's a magical girl in the class room next to hers, unfortunately she's a super weak demon and stands no chance. Hijinx and comedy ensue when the magical girl takes pity on her and tries to help her get stronger.

Lol enjoy what you like man, never let other peoples opinions become your reality.
have not watched it but i have finished reading it(read it from 2019 on) and it was a blast to read tbh. Im just curious what anime watchers will think of the ending. fyi im 99% manga/manhwa/manhua reader since 2020.

in terms of manhwa..its not even in my top5..as you said..its very basic in many ways.
also reading the spinoff manhwa Solo Leveling Ragnarok.. with sung jin woos son.. and it not that good..barely readable.

started reading Shangri-La Frontier..just 15 chapters in.
Finished The Drifting Classroom.
Also read all available chapters of this.

I saw that my cinema theater was showing a 4K restoration of a old anime movie called Angel's Egg and i went to see it.

Slow burner, minimal talking by characters and I think it perfectly works here since we're dealing with a desolate world where they absolutely nail the atmosphere with how it looks, the music, the mystery. It makes it all feel creepy in a way, but I don't necessarily consider it horror. I'm now going to check out the other works of this creator.

See this.

I watched the Chainsaw Man movie. Pretty, pretty good. Some wild animation in the last quarter of it. The other thing I've been watching lately is Durarara. I watched most of it back when it came out but I don't recall finishing it. Super good. Love me some Celty.

Its a shame the blu rays are way oop. I'd love to own this.

Assault lily bouquet.

Girl is saved by a kind lily, gets inspired and becomes a lily when she comes of age, meets the now changed and less kind lily from before, persuades her to form a schutzengel pact with her, both girls grow, magical girls with guns fight monsters, many laughs and tears along the way.

Pretty good if you're into magical girls or the whole cute girl army thing like azur lane, strike witches, or kancolle, that kind of thing.

like i don't mind people enjoying Solo Leveling, but don't understand how I seen people reacting to it like its the next Demon Slayer or something. Especially in regards to its Solo's generic -level animation.

at least it opens the door to the korean dungeon webtoons I do like to getting an anime series.

just found out that "Hell Mode: The Hardcore Gamer Dominates in Another World with Garbage Balancing", another manga that I've been following is getting an anime. it also seems like the production is pretty good too. this might looks like another isekai junk but it's actually pretty good. the way the story unfolds and all the character development and world background building is actually done rather well. looking forward to this.

they're rebooting World Trigger from the beginning? interesting. it's a great manga and the anime from before was pretty good too. but I guess it's like the first FMA's situation. because the manga was progressing too slow, the anime made up their own story and kinda went into a different path. now that there are more material from the manga, they are able to tell the full story on it. I always like that it's not just a pure battle manga and there are more thought put into the story. the protag is also not just some guy who suddenly got super strong. he IS growing in terms of his strength and ability, but he's still no way comparable to a lot of the other people in the story even at the most current chapter. going to look forward to this when it releases.

Any recommendations for me? I have seen Attack on titan and Vinland saga.

if you have not watch FullMetal Alchemist: Brotherhood yet, go with that first. and then here are a few more off the top of my head for you to consider.

That Time I Got Reincarnated As A Slime
Shangri-La Frontier
Demon Slayer
Hellsing Ultimate
Spy X Family
The Apothecary Diaries
Hunter X Hunter
Campfire Cooking In Another World With My Absurd Skill
TsukiMichi Moonlit Fantasy
Your Lie In April
March Comes In Like A Lion
Planetes
Laid-Back Camp
Cyberpunk Edgerunner
The Masterful Cat Is Depressed Again Today

depends on you taste, there should be a few that you would find enjoyable. I avoid some series like Dragonballs, Gundam, JoJo, Naruto, Bleach, and One Piece due to there's just too much to get into even thou they're great.
