Nope! Here's potentially very silly question- I have 2 used 16 gigs of DDR5 RAM that I had in a PC that I took out and no longer need. Does that RAM retain ANY data whatsoever if I were to look at selling them?
RAM is volatile so it won't save data. It might save some timing info to improve post time at boot, or maybe some RGB config info, but nothing personal. Here's potentially very silly question- I have 2 used 16 gigs of DDR5 RAM that I had in a PC that I took out and no longer need. Thank you for that. Well looks like I have 2x16 gig sticks to sell now for FAR higher than I originally purchased them for!RAM is volatile so it won't save data. It might save some timing info to improve post time at boot, or maybe some RGB config info, but nothing personal.
Me too. I have 2 16 GB sticks of DDR5-5600 g.skill RGB for AMD AM5 that I took out when I upgraded that I could make some money on.Thank you for that. Well looks like I have 2x16 gig sticks to sell now for FAR higher than I originally purchased them for!
So I read on here about the price of ram going up but I didn't quite think it would be as dramatic as it turned out to be.
I checked on how much my ram is to buy today compared to when I bought it

Insane!
How much is your ram today?
Paid $220.99 in March. $879.99 today.
It was about $100 less a week or so ago. It's insane. What the fuck?!
That's an insane price. Is the price changing daily? I didn't think the price was that much.

It seems pricing changes haven't impacted my region (Mexico). I got 32 GB of Kingston DDR4 memory for about $120 shipped back in 2022. That particular listing is not available anymore but a similar one is about $65 today.
I got 2 different kits of 2x16 GB of DDR5 a few weeks back for about $120 each.
Does having 64 GB really make a difference? I don't feel I'm running out of memory despite having 100 Chrome tabs open.
