Nintendo's diminished mojo is allowing criticism to finally stick in the discourse cycle

i have not finished the game yet. but i think it's a six, a solid six a high six.
Story so far is a 5.
Graphics a 7.5.
gameplay 6.5 Boss fights are the best of the game.
sound design and bgm. 7 nothing to write about.
level design is 7.
overall this game is serviceable.

i am having somewhat fun and i am unimpressed.

yes, sad to say, I have no idea wtf they were thinking, but it's like go down go up go down go up so far. I will continue and finish it but prob not at 100%. It just feels like a chore going back to all those places.

I miss the level design of the first 2 Doom games. Not only for their non linear and unexpected critical paths, but also for their many secrets and hidden doorways. Not to mention you could move through their levels with real speed once you knew where to go.

All of those qualities make for navigation that is closer to 2D Metroid than what the Prime games have achieved.
I'd go as far as saying that the over reliance on scanning slows down navigation to an unacceptable degree.

I wasnt that interested in metroid fps game since i dont have switch2 yet, so i kinda didnt check this thread till now.
Assuming its ninny's first party so gameplay/fun has to be if not top notch then at the very least great i entered the topic, and checked those review scores, what i saw was:

If i were this Skill Up guy i would make another video reviewing the game. It's not clear enough that he dislikes the game..

Also if Metroid Prime 4 is a mid game then it's ok to love it from their own words..

Getting much much further into the game (deep into desert traversal) and I'll keep repeating what I've been saying all along- I don't get the aggressive hate this game has gotten from a select few! Game is a Metroid Prime game! I'm not too sure what people were after??? Some have complained not enough has changed and they wanted changes to combat (how?) and that Samus needs a voice… whereas others, like me, are happy keeping the game as is. From the original Metroid right through to Dread, the same basic core functions have remained the same in the 2D games, and that is what us Metroid fans prefer. This is no different. So far, the 2nd best Prime game made. I love it. Desert area is great. Lack of soundtrack doesn't affect the area 1 little bit and in fact the ambient soundtrack suits it. Gives it a great contrast to when you actually make it to a level when that areas music does kick in.

So far I'm loving it. Colour me impressed. I've gotten what I wanted out of this game.
