1000x Resist - Anyone Play This?

Arsic

Loves his juicy stink trail scent

Has anyone played this? Saw it as number 2 on the list of best games of 2024 on that pasta or whatever outlet.

Looked it up, and it's overwhelmingly positive on steam.

One of those games where you can't discuss it like Outer Wilds. You just have to play it so you don't spoil it.

Thinking of picking it up after PoE2 early access binge.

I played and enjoyed it. Its really a neat mystery adventure game, rather surreal too

I finished it, overall I liked it, unusual presentation of the plot, very nice visuals (in terms of artistic style), not very long, about 10-15 hours. If you like unusual games, it will suit you =)

I've played the demo during one of the Steam Fests and enjoyed it. Will picking it up down the road once I clear some of my current backlog of games.

Yep, and it's one of the best games that came out this year.

The story is engaging from start to end, the scene composition and overall direction is excellent. The story has a few layers, but you can also enjoy it just a Sci Fi story.

Great voice acting too. All supporting characters are written well.

If you like narrative games (walking sims/visual novels) then it's worth playing for sure.

Looks awesome and intriguing. Will probably get it on Switch at some point if they don't port it to PSN.

Here's a good review:

They just announced they've sold 100k copies.

Developer sunset visitor announced on May 2nd that 1000xRESIST had won a Peabody Award in its category. It was also reported that the game has sold 100,000 copies to date.

Great game. I love these weird kind of experiences that actually surprise you and I wish we got more of them.

As an old jaded gamer that's seen it all, I cherish these unusual experiences where you never really know what's around the corner.

The game is available on key shops at around 1 euro... How the fuck is this even possible.

This game deserves way more than 100k copies sold.

Just checked cdkeys, and you're right, it's 1.2€.

Looks like they've also made an official post about the 100k copies sold milestone about 3h ago on their Steam page.

Knew nothing about it and tried it because it was in GamePass. Got hooked on the story and ended up finishing it and loving it for the story.

Could have been a visual novel and as effective I reckon.

On chapter 2. This seems like an extremely special game. The writing reminds me of NieR Automata where they expect the audience to be curious, intelligent and paying attention and if you don't follow it then too bad.

So far I appreciate that its not a visual novel. The exploration is pretty enjoyable after you get the first main ability.

Nah it wouldnt have felt as much like a real world.

Finished. 10/10 for me. A stone cold masterpiece and possibly my favorite written game ever made. For me, its up there with Pentiment, NieR Automata, Citizen Sleeper 1&2. Art design, OST, voice acting were all phenomenal. Even the level design stands out with its limited locations, designed 3 dimensionally in an intricate and impressive way.

Remains to be seen if they can actually pull this off again or if they just did their masterwork on the first try. Day 1 for anything from Sunset Visitor.

Great game, but the level design is the one thing I disliked about it. There were a few occasions when I had to set it aside for a while after wandering aimlessly in search of the next objective.

Some of the levels where you have to warp between dioramas were pretty bad, but the main hub level was really poor. The amount of time I spent running around that enormous empty maze… Hekki goddamn allmo!

I loved the Orchard lol. Reminds me a bit of Starfield. I remember people getting lost in the cities there too. I guess I just like that style.

There's a bit near the end, where the objective was to go to where the waterfall used to be, and I realised I'd never actually noticed a waterfall before. So I just had to roam the corridors until I stumbled upon it, which is the only way I ever found anything in there. Playing on the Steam Deck's small screen probably didn't help.
