Here I was hoping I was going to be able to sit with the guys from Best of the Worst and watch crappy movies with them in VR.

But the video was very cool. Looked a lot better than I anticipated. Also shows that a Zelda game in first person wouldn't be horrible.

Wow, that looks really well done. I doubt I'd actually wanna play it like this for long though. Maybe cos I have already, or not. Skyrim VR didn't do it for me either, though it's also technically very very good (especially with mods that add body physicality etc.). Do you waggle like mad for flurry rush?

Nintendo is positioned for VR success pending what SONY does with PSVR going forward, figure Zelda would be a VR Game, wii began the motion era, wii u played out the split screen era right, Resident Evil VR was phenomenal, cords are still an issue.

Original vr implementation is shit. Ultra low res, no 6dof, no hand tracking, no nothing. It's a mess and a gimmick.

It was released on the same day for both Wii U and Switch. Like how Metroid Prime 4 was released on both the Switch and Switch 2.

I actually enjoyed the ToyCon mode as a fun way to see the game in 3D and get a sense of scale, played many hours of it.

But this is next level, looks fantastic. Too bad it can't be easily ported to TOTK because they used the Wii U version / emulator as the base from what I can tell.

Like many cool VR mods, this looks really impressive, with some major caveats. First off, it's clear that the motion is very judder-y, which will be impossible to ignore in VR. But it also seems like it has some weird HUD sizing jankness, and I'm sure a lot of single-button actions (like taking out the shield, or throwing a boomerang) haven't been converted to proper VR.

This reminds me of when I played Skyrim in VR with a 360 treadmill. It was very immersive and cool at first, but then the jank started to show, and it lost a lot of its luster.

One of the best 2D-to-VR conversions I've played was the RE4 (original) VR version on the Quest, which was mostly a great experience. (Though the cutscenes were projected 2D, which was awful.)

I should definitely give this a try, though.
