Battlefield 6 | OT | Time to Sheikh things up.

Black Ops 7 is current gen only. Plus battlefield games on last gen consoles were smaller too.
CoD hasn't done a meaningful engine update since MW2019

Helldivers 2 recently reduced its install size by more than 80% by dropping HDD optimisations.

Throw in a little of Battlefields penchant for copy pasting a building many many times over in a map and you get smaller insall sizes.

The actually ignored the COD freaks complaining about movement, this is nothing like COD

Actually in the winter update they nerfed movement even further, however this was overshadowed by everything else breaking in the news. Players did notice and where cheering the fuck out of slide jumping finally being dead. It was then rolled back 2 days later, the reason? Their was supposed to be a tornament for the BR Mode (why focus on the battlefield part of battlefield, its not worth EA's time) and all the CoD streamers signed up had a hissy fit of their slide jump slide technique now no longer being in game.

So yes they are focusing on the CoD players in their cancer attached BR Mode thats balance changes directly effect the battlefield game its attached to. Try sticking C4 to a drone like they showed in both gameplay and live action trailer, oh the drone just explodes immediatly. Can't have players potentially flying C4 in the BR Mode and insta killing a duo, so that means none of battlefields main game modes can have it either.

BF6 would be in a better place if it was just Battlefield. Also the tornament never took place because the game was still broken everywhere else meaning all that happened is you now have people jump slide jumping all over the fucking game still.

This is not correct.
Yeah I'm definitely wrong. It says it's cross gen in the various online stores and on gamepass.

I purchased this and Arc Raiders and initially I thought these two games would carry my multiplayer experiences for the next three years but honestly, I've never fallen off game as much as these two.
What has happened with games recently?

You have to be very dedicated to main those two games for three years straight. That's pretty extreme dedication

Guess you're just burned out? These games aren't bad at all. I dropped BF6 for the extreme repetitive gameplay loop but I'll definitely return once that crave hits

I think the issue is people can't seem to ever find the middle ground anymore it's either amazing or "what went wrong", it's ok to take breaks in a game and return later when updates roll in.

I have about 200 hours and I love it, but sure I'm sometimes like eh I'll play a little of this or that, doesn't mean I'm thinking gee what went wrong that I don't want to play this game every waking second of my life. At its core it's a fucking awesome battlefield game, the maps could be bigger but we're early this game is gonna truck on for a few years.

We will get maps, guns etc... One good update and everyone is back, but I have had a blast and it's a good game.

I feel bad when some say they can't survive, but man that to me is just play style... I'd be curious to see some footage of peoples matches because battlefield is truly about simply getting a good vantage point on enemies, you can down dudes really quick with tap fire and the right gun setup from across the map.

Anyways it's a good game it'll be around a good while and will have many ups and downs, it's ok to take breaks and pop in when the mood strikes

These cuntent farmers just parrot whatever the first prominent channel comes out with and pray they make enough that month to not have to go back to work at least part time.

I haven't played it for a couple of months now, i got bored very quickly.

During the BFV, 2042 era's i was playing games like ARMA 3, Reforger and Hell Let Loose, more realistic FPS sims.

I loved BF2, 3, 4, BC, BC2 etc. But after coming from ARMA and HLL, i can't stand the slip and slide bullshit that has come over from COD, the game is just full of what appear to be ADHD streamers that just slide everywhere, run at 30 MPH and everyone is a bullet sponge.

Seriously, why do characters in this game run at like 30 MPH?!

I hate it.

one of the most sensationalist post I've seen in some time.

They'll be just fine...
I can always count on EDMIX to have the opposite opinion as me.

If I were to describe the game, COD comes to mind. It does feel more like COD than BF. That also explains why I am already bored with the game.

This. We have an entire economy that has formed around these multiplayer games and channels that live and die based on how much content they can farm out of a game before it stops being popular.

This has happened for over a decade now. I distinctly remember the way these cunts turned on BF1 despite it being the most popular and best selling BF game ever made. I was still having fun a couple of months in but westie, jackfrags, stodeh, and a bunch of those other cunts all of a sudden started posting videos of how the game is dying and is littered with problems while im like this is still pretty fucking fun despite some minor issues.

They poisoned the well and convinced their viewers that the game was shit. Then a few years later when BF5 and BF2042 came out and got rid of everything they had complained about in BF1, they went back to BF1 and started boasting about how its still so much fun. Like FUCK YOU YOU FUCKING CUNTS. You DID this.

I was happy when they went to Warzone and PubG. Go away. No one likes you. BF6 is amazing. Still fun to play. it does not need massive revisions. No one should be playing a game non stop for three fucking years like some guy here said. i put in a 100 hours in the first month and had to stop, but im glad i did. Now i go back and play with my cousins every now and then. I will likely finish with 200-300 hours. How is that not worth $70? why do we need to play for 2000 hours like its Destiny or some other MMO. you dont have to no life these games.

Gamers have lost their minds.

But dude I play both and this feels nothing like cod. I mean in cod you litrelly run and die within seconds on their little tiny maps, I mean even when I survive it's a streak or so but these are true battles explosions, revives, choke points... Cod doesn't know what a choke point is ever because it's so arcadey just run gun die.

Even a bad battlefield which 6 isn't, but even in battlefields worst day it feels nothing like cod at least to me

modern cod is literally designed to spawn people right behind you so they can get easy kills, which keeps them playing. Devs admitted this a few years ago. This is done primarily for people who are bad and keep dying, but the way the maps are designed, even good players will die and spawn behind players leading to easy kills thanks to what is essentially a spawn that flanks for you.

the last COD i played was hilariously bad. Gun mechanics kept me playing for a few hours but it was virtually impossible to stay alive for more than a minute. sometimes you would die within seconds because spawns kept flipping.

I run and die plenty in BF6. I expect it somewhat is modes like Domination, but not in Conquest. Yet that is what is happening in some of the smaller Conquest maps. And watching some guy slide around the corner and kill me looks retarded. This game is not very tactical. If I move slowly and peak around corners, I get shot in the back by someone running and gunning. When I run with a squad, I have to run to keep up. Everybody is running all the time on every sized map. I have not played COD in a while, but when I did, it was run and gun all the time. They definitely tried to appeal to both sides in this game, but we all know how that goes. You end up pissing off longtime BF fans whole COD fans run back to COD.

I wish we had a separate thread for people to complain about Battlefield turning into Cod. It could be 15 years old at this point.

Primary concerns for me are that they need to streamline the game modes available and revert the breakthrough changes. They also need to revise their seasonal content rollout, we haven't had a new map in almost two months and the game has become stale as a result.

The loss of Zampella is not a good thing for the future of this game.

Well I do agree sliding is dumb, I'm not a fan of it in either game but the only positive note is I don't see it a ton in battlefield, but I do see and yea that can go but ultimately that's about the only thing that is cod like.

The one thing that I think people sorta forget is while battlefield plays way different than cod the ttk has always been fairly fast, not cod fast but you can't really run in open field without being downed just as fast.

Like said above cod is small maps with stupid spawns and about 100 ways to enter a room and die, that's always been my feelings of cod which in doses I'm fine with but ultimately battlefield just man, the chaotic nature of being holed up in a building or somewhere and only being able to peek out and get some kills, dudes blowing up lol it's nuts but so good, cod just doesn't at all have this not even remotely, being able to revived alone is the huge difference maker.

So I run about a 3.0 kd and Im easily 30 40 50+ kills... I'm decent but there's guys that own me, but I play a pretty good run gun and cover game and if you're having issues staying alive man without being a dick which I'm not tryin to be just saying might be just something with your playstyle, approach, awareness etc that maybe needs adjusted know what I mean? Because it is easy to die in any battlefield it's also easy to stay alive if you really have your head on a swivel and stick near people for those sweet revives.

Anyways I just love the game, has issues but I love it and man I wish I could infuse what I feel and experience and enjoyment into others so that they can have just a much fun

The more I play the fewer complaints I have. It's not the Battlefield I really wanted (V and 2042 were) but it's beautifully executed nonetheless. BF2042 was at least an 8/10 for the last two years and provided the widest, most fun sandbox in series history yet never redeemed itself in the eyes of the "fans." BFV is still the most beautiful and immersive entry with an immense sense of scale yet it was also unappreciated in its own lifespan. I don't envy the developers of Battlefield, I really don't, having to deal with one of the worst and most vocal "fanbases" in all of gaming, people who will never be satisfied no matter what - blinded by resentment of the knowledge that they don't miss BC2 and BF3, they just miss being a carefree kid playing those games fifteen years ago.

Battlefield wanted to be CoD for a long time. First when EA shit on the entire existing fanbase by making Bad Company a streamlined, dumbed down console exclusive after the series had made a name for itself as a high-end PC franchise, and again with BF1 with countless design decisions regarding map design, balance, and horrible gunplay designed to reduce the skill gap and turn most maps into meat grinders worse than anything in BF6. It's all so tiresome.

How is BF5 these days with population? I actually may revisit it a bit I also miss the maps of V, game was gorgeous. Same with BF1... Loved that and operations was so awesome

Good channel this and I thought it was going another whinge video, but after watching it (and playing the game for 152hrs myself) I agree with him that the unlock grind is tuned just too darn slow at the moment and it needs greatly easing up, or people will get pissed off with it. 0 - 15 feels fine, but then it just dies to a snail's pace, and I think it's probably proving quite caustic with many players. Certainly the ones who only seem ro to play modern video games to be rewarded at intervals.

Persistent servers would do me there, as I like the majority of the maps and I'm still learning them. Operation Firestorm (boring ) and Blackwell Fields (too small for 64) I can do without, probably Sobek City as well but I don't mind that one too much really.

I'm one of those "fans" you mentioned. I wrote off 2042 after the hero shooter launch, and then got busy with other games. Never went back to check.

BF2042 was a solid game after enough work (which is true of most BF games, don't know why people act surprised?).
That's probably true, but as I said once I saw them going the hero shooter route I was more like 'eh, another one bites the dust' and didn't look at the franchise for the ~4 odd years since then besides playing BF1 occasionally, and now buying BF6 when I enjoyed the beta.

I see how it is, when I say it you argue with me but now when your boy Ace says it's too slow and you're on board!

Lol calm down, after 150hrs I agree with you now. But more from the angle that it'd be better more for the game's health than its effect on me. I'll be playing BF6 for the next few years regardless. Didn't you already stop playing anyway?

I'm out of town for a couple of more weeks. Game doesn't run amazingly on my laptop. Also dragged along my derelict Series X as a potential Redsec option (I'm not going to buy an Xbox copy or even worse pay Xbox Live for online for base multiplayer). Surprisingly mouse+keyboard support works pretty well on Xbox, but I'm very unimpressed with "performance mode".

I did boot into the game to see the weekly challenges last week and they wanted me to play more of the bullshit winter mode, even though the snowy jet skin was kind of cool I wasn't about to live that life again. Completely checked out of those terrible playlists after finishing the bonus pass.

Had a fantastic time this morning with a great team who really worked together.
When this game works it's absolutely amazing but please give us more maps and give us a gender choice for each class.

Dude have you played BF6? There is no way this is real they will give us 2 more shitty new maps built for 8v8 TDM.

Also the Ospray is AI as hell.
This is 100% fake, as they would not just tell you months in advance as they don't really do that (like many many months)

but...I do think with remaking maps, its actually likely more feasible to get more maps that way then from the ground up.

I agree, there's no way it's real, I know that for sure because it's what I want them to do and shit like that is never real.

Don't believe it and even if they did, id be afraid of what they would do to those classic maps.
tbh, if they do the classic maps (which I 100% think they will, they sorta do every BF)

I think they will leave a lot of them as is and do remakes closer to the originals with modern changes to alter certain choke points (like if the prior map had issues that they never addressed 20 years ago etc)
