"President Trump has made it well known that acquiring Greenland is a national security priority of the United States, and it's vital to deter ‌our adversaries in ‌the Arctic region. The president and ‍his team are discussing a range of ‍options to pursue this important foreign policy goal, and of course, utilizing the U.S. military is always an option at the commander-in-chief's disposal,"

Still don't believe it's going to amount to anything but this type of language is fucking wild

Interesting take. She believes it's about protecting the petrodollar system primarily(among other things like oil) because more and more countries are not using dollars..

Seems like a gold bug channel and they always give sussy information. Petrodollar is sort of a hype term for a real thing which global reserve currency usage. Gold is part of a move away from Dollars but Venezuela was reportedly using Crypto, and more trade is being done with Chinese yuan, partly because it is efficient when trading with China, and partly because of sanctions. But if you want to think how good a move this capture was for the US and the Dollar's status as reserve currency you can use the gold price chart as one indicator.

I think Trump is having a mental breakdown. How else can you explain this insane foreign policy?

Removing dictator of communist country is one thing but military intervention in democratic country that is a part of NATO is another. No different than Russian "foreign policy".

It could be as simple as a greater presence in the region since China and Russia have been buzzing it for a while now.

You must always do your research on anything you see in the media or youtube but as far as the information goes, I'd trust them over some mainstream doofus like Jim Cramer. :messenger_grinning_sweat: I do agree that they over embellish but again, that's part of being able to see through that.

As far as the term petrodollar, never heard it used as or considered it a hype term. It just means what you described and I'm pretty sure that's implied.

to all the people here and elsewhere whining and crying that Trump did it the wrong way he had to do it this way.
because even if he tried to go through Congress Congress would have said no.
because either they're a bunch of pussies or they're getting paid off by that terrorist

China lags far behind in terms of combat experience, which is a very important factor. If I'm not mistaken, their last major war was in Korea, where they relied on sheer numbers and guerrilla warfare. But who knows, maybe they're fighting 24/7 wars in VR right now.
That's what war games, doctrine studies, and training are for. I mean when was the last time the USN was in a full blown war with a massive blue water navy? That's right, WW2. I have no doubt the US has better military doctrine, but let's not pretend China have no idea what they are doing.

But there are normal ways of doing that, not antagonizing allies with talks about possible military intervention. They could just talk about it with Denmark or even bring the subject on NATO forum. Better defenses against China and Russia are in the interest of every NATO member.

But Trump is doing things in his own way (for better or worse)...

Petrodollar is a political way of saying that the US would quite like to buy oil from Saudi Arabia with Dollars. There is no "petro dollar" trade currency separate to the dollar. This is no global rapid response petro dollar task force with aircraft carriers that bombs any country selling crude oil for a currency other than dollars.

Normal way? Countries like Germany still until recently continued to buy Russian gas. And they supposed to be allies of USA and Ukraine against Russia.

I hope at one point people will realize this does not work.

Lots of BS going on again,.

Fun to see who just rejoices over this sort of stuff.

Obligatory reminder:

First they came for the socialists, and I did not speak out—because I was not a socialist.

Then they came for the trade unionists, and I did not speak out—because I was not a trade unionist.

Then they came for the Jews, and I did not speak out—because I was not a Jew.

Then they came for me—and there was no one left to speak for me.

I think what we see with bluntness and misdirection is showing us what really goes on behind closed doors at meetings with allies, and not that fluffy bubble gum façade they sell to the public as "diplomacy."

All while bombings still continue, territories being carved up, etc., with just sternly written 'resolutions' and pocket lining deals.

I raise a brow less to a blunt asshole over that of a charming snake.

Most green parties in the EU were infiltrated by Russkie operations, and were able to shutdown Nuclear power and it's development., which led to, lets build tons of wind and solar power! And, when that doesn't work, we have almost free LNG from Russia!!!!!1111!!!!!!

Germany, Sweden, are two big exporters of power that just fell for that, Germany started burning coal again, Sweden is still "Wtf!".

Atleast France maintained the nuclear power option, but tons of countries fell for the cheap Russkie LNG option..

Honestly I'm expecting an agreement to be reached in the coming months with Denmark where the US negotiates an increased military footprint on the island and the rights to build infrastructure to mine resources that can be purchased exclusively by NATO members and allies, while excluding China, Russia, etc. Trump makes for an excellent scapegoat for the EU every time he starts bloviating and it plays well for political theater… but behind closed doors, EU nations want access to the same materials that the US does. Greenland hosts some of the most important strategic resources in the world, and bureaucracy has kept the EU in a feedback loop of saying much but doing little. China has demonstrated that they can and will cut off access to rare earths, and they hold the cards right now. Why isn't the EU capitalizing on what they already have access to? The answer is uncomfortable: endless regulations, red tape, internal bickering, and decades of complacency. They literally can't do it as things stand.

"Mine resources" - good luck with that, not going to happen unless you get rid if every last citizen on Greenland, to whom both the EU and the US
has promised independence.

Right or wrong, who knows, but the first one to break that promise, is sort of going to show their colours.

Most rare earths can be found else where in Scandinavia too, that has been reluctant to break/mine it due to the severe damage you cause to the enviroment.

Even China has started to realize just what you do when you break into those sort of mining operations.

Everyone wants the stuff, but nobody wants to do it on their own turf anymore..

Who celebrates and pushes for this sort of conflict?
He needs to move off Greenland if they are not interested, we can't do that by force

Side note, though I am sure the vast majority know this here, the actual size of Greenland is much smaller than what maps portray it, called the Mercator projection

Kyle Kulinski keeps saying there is "no evidence" Maduro has committed crimes. He keeps bringing up how "There's no evidence Maduro has done any of the things he's accused of".

Is he just a liar? It's literally on video Maduro's military vehicles running over protestors.
Kyle used to be someone on the left I could listen to but his brain completely broke after October 7th and since he married Krystal. He's a total parody of himself at this point. I'm not sure who's a bigger liar or more intellectually dishonest at this point, him or David Pakman.

Same. Some of the stuff he's posted over the last few years is easily proven wrong and it's embarrassing.

Luck isn't needed. I mean, I get it, if someone wanted access to stuff that was on my private property here in the US, I'd be livid. But the US is more than willing to be the bad guy if it means all of NATO and allies get to secure their future at the cost of the sovereignty of <60K people. It feels shitty, but it's a numbers game and when it comes to geopolitics, sentiment rarely drives longterm decision making. We love electric vehicles, solar panels, and modern weapon systems, but good luck making any of it without ample lithium, graphite, neodymium, and so forth. Rare earths are a massive vulnerability for western countries right now. Again, China has already demonstrated that they will cut off supply. Western countries cannot afford to maintain the status quo.

I would rather we all left each other alone, but it's not the world we live in.

the goal is to disband NATO since Denmark will undoubtedly go to NATO and ask for help which they cant provide because america is part of NATO. Leading to a swift dissolution of NATO which has been a wish of Putin for a long time and trump as always is doing his bidding.

Also funny how no one is talking about the Epstein files anymore and how he redacted everything from it.

1000%. If they wish to join us, awesome, I would look forward to our brothers and sisters from Greenland joining. If they don't, which definitely sounds like they don't, then they should be left alone as they are now.

I dunno...for someone who you say is good at rage-baiting, he sure is the world's largest, angriest baby when it comes to whining about the 2020 election and January 6.

Incidentally, happy January 6 day to all those who want to celebrate (if there's any need to celebrate attempted coups by angry people wearing red hats).

In other, less off-topic news...interesting legal analysis of various aspects of the whole Venezuela debacle to date:

Stopping the advance of China and Russia in Americas is not an insane foreign policy, here in South America we had +20 years of fucking commie leaning ideology that amounts to nothing but corrupt politicians with full pockets and worse quality of life for the general populace in the persuit of "equality" and "muh communism wasn't well implemented all these years, but somehow it will work out now, trust us and gives us another chance or else" FML...

Your ilk were whining and bitching about how the 2016 election was not legitimate going as far as making up fake conspiracy theories to justify it like the Steele Dossier. Yawn.

I actually taught kids about the Mercator Projection and played around with it on the screen a little to show them how maps don't necessarily portray accurate sizes of countries. Tools like this are pretty neat.

I don't even think it is worth trying to explain to US citizens just how screwed they are anymore. Nobody listens.
