I don't know how to summarize this video, but i will try
1- Data centers are vampires that wants to leech off the land we live on
2- People have shut down plans last year, with more success
3 - Microslop gives reason to let you invite their data center in to your town. paying for electric bills on your behalf, create jobs and other promises that are stupid
4 - Microslop lawyer admits on camera to try and manipulate the government and the things Microslop is offering are a lie.
5 - Microslop will pay their taxes, lol
6 - Microslop promises to invest in local school, but only in AI training, so our kids become dumb and depended on their slop.
Final point - Microslop is using the US's 250th birthday and compares their slop to the invention of the telephone, double lol
Bonus point - Drunk Act compares the Seahawks being better for the community than a datacenter, agreed

Those who oppose AI are like those who attacked the internet 25 years ago.

You can't stop progress and if you don't adapt, you'll be left behind.

I don't think "faux pas" is the correct term here.
It's correct alright. All these labels and terms are faux pas and beyond when it's regurgitated to the max. As an example, even my use of "faux pas" isn't exempt from this when the same rules are applied.

"An embarrassing or tactless act or remark in a social situation" (faux pas) vs. "no longer fashionable; out of date" (passé) - I stand by my assessment.

"Passé" would fit this conversation and the thread a lot better than one of the most valuable companies in the world. I mean, I genuinely hate MS and all the other mega corps like the cancer they are. But I'm just saying.. Wishful thinking is one thing, accuracy is another.

I saw an article the other day that the east coast could be subject to rolling blackouts due to the power draw of these data centers.

Here's a better idea: tell the data centers no and that they have to reduce power. The citizen shouldn't have to suffer because the greedy tech oligarch wants more data centers. The first time I have a rolling blackout because of a data centers presence, I'll learn how to demolish a building with explosive force.

Miriam-Webster named "slop" the Word of the Year for 2025.

I don't, it communicates the near universal derision of pollutive AI extremely well. And if it annoys Jensen, wel it's doing its job.

It's a good, evocative word. It sounds like what it means. You can hear the slop in it.

And here we go again.

Microsoft will keep investing in AI while Valve eats up the Windows market for PC gaming.
Just like Microsoft spent money on Xbox while Google and Apple "dominated the PC" using mobile phones.

I'd like to know what the victim mentality will be like after AI flops...

"Didn't stupid people realize how good AI is?"
"Evil Google sabotaged us (MS)"
"But what about the iPhone monopoly?"

Well, there's no need for an excuse... because everyone will be screwed at the same time when the bubble bursts... Then Microsoft will be able to say that "it's the market that doesn't want AI"... If they already say that "the market doesn't want consoles" even with Playstation and Nintendo selling normally, imagine what it will be like with AI and the entire market collapsing...

I think Nadella regretted ending the "Xbox Ambassadors" program.

He should have changed it to "Copilot Ambassadors", then we'd have a bunch of idiots repeating how "MS is amazing" on the internet, like brainless zombies.

I think Microsoft should lead by example and finally let Copilot be the CEO of the company. Satellite Nutella can be coding wage slave again, always threatened to get sent back home by is H-1B, just like Microsoft intended.

Those "Idea guys" you always hated, now have a $200 dollar Claude sub and are Ralph Wiggum'n their way onto your Steam account anyday now.
Any company not using AI for code now is in trouble.

You know why the data centers are using so much energy?

Because people are using AI. A lot. Often.

So you can keep being mad and yelling at Microsoft, meanwhile, ai use and adoption among the masses is higher than it's ever been.

If there wasn't demand, they wouldn't do it.

I wasn't complaining about the word slop. Microsoft deserves it, but like, I don't need it to be every other word. The summary's both poorly written and treats the reader like they're an idiot.
