Years and years of negligence and they wonder why they're in this state? Absolute shadow of what they used to be! EA too. Remember them during the PS2 and PS3 days?
 
Ubisoft's new master finally got a look at the accounting and realized that this was a 27 alarm fire

I guess I'm impressed Ubisoft was able to pretend everything was fine long enough to get Tencent to invest in them. The party is over now though
 
It's funny that their best game for years was the Prince of Persia: Lost Crown. The DLC Mask of Darkness was great also. Which was made by Rayman Origins & Legends team.
 
Given the ESRB rating, I bet Sands of Time was done and they're shelving it and taking a tax write-off. They probably think that will make their books look better in the short term and make them a more attractive investment/acquisition target. Fucking bleak.

Ubi has become entirely irrelevant to me as the Prince of Persia & Rayman are their only interesting games.

Don't forget that this is a remake of an essentially modern game. As in, it's not like it's so primitive or archaic that it was some monumental task. It's all fucking there and they blew, what, six plus years on this shit and still canceled it!?

If they're not capable why not sub it out to someone else. There's many that can do a remake justice if your that incompetent.

Sad news but not surprised. At this point I wouldn't expect Splinter Cell to ever come out too.
 
I really don't expect anything from Ubisoft worth playing to be honest.

Every half decent game they have released recently has a helix credits packs or some crap and it immediately shuts down my interest.

I'm hoping that games like E33 tells these stockholders that there is still a market for original single player games. And if you aren't trying to compete with Fortnite with a half-ass GaaS, then you can definitely release a full game with zero plans for microtransactions or DLC.

IMO Ubisoft should be investigate for money laundry or money fraud, those guys burn A GIANT AMOUNT OF MONEY just to go and cancelling everything.


And last, but not least, Beyond Good and Evil probably cancelled at this point.

the fact that B:GE2 wasn't cancelled like 5 years ago already is insane to me.
 
Game dev is in such a terrible place. Even '$2.3B revenue' Ubisoft can't even re-make one of their own games.

I remember how PoP Remake was supposed to be their big Ubisoft India project, to show how indians are capable of making (well, remaking) great games too!

And then it was total shitshow that they had to take back to Montreal only to cancel it for good.
Hilarious.

Ubisoft should really just die at this point, sell its IPs to more competent companies.
 
All this talk reminded me of that AC x Attack on Titan cross-over and I thought it was fake. I can't unsee it someone please help! Post Cassandra and/or Evie Frye!

Seriously I wanted to play that game, it really sucks how low Ubisoft has fallen and I doubt they'll recover unless the Guillemots are forced to sell and there's a complete management change.
 
that POP remake they showed looked worse than the original version, the only thing decent to come from ubisoft in the past decade is AC odyssey and surprisingly The Crew Motorfest (I like racing games)

The price was definitely an issue, yeah. Not so sure on marketing: it was the first "world premiere" of Keighley's Summer Games Fest, so people definitely knew it existed.

I think the childish fan-dumb was what really hurt it, from "that's not my prince" to "stop working on this slop and finish the remake," etc. :messenger_weary:
