Kingdom Come Deliverance - PS5/Series Upgrade Announced - Free for Owners - PC Ultra Settings + 60FPS

Eh, I find the interactions and testing useful. If anything, it shows interior lighting is a bit borked and I'll hold off from doing another play through until it's fixed in the inevitable patch that will undoubtedly arrive since Warhorse loves what they do. The reason I love this game in the first place is being fully immersed into its world, and watching outdoor lighting flicker into the interior intermittently will take me out of the moment.
You are aware that you are missing out on one of the greatest games ever made. Just because of some flickering in 1 fucking building? What's wrong with you man?

Yeah, and on a decently specced PC the game runs fine. You don't need Ultra lighting really either, can barely tell the difference vs very high.

What are the odds that first building I tired is the only one with issues. Hahaha.

Luckily I have a high-end system and I even managed to get medium to high settings on a steam deck if I recall correctly. Then I move to the rog one and now I'm on the rog xbox. Still impressed as I just love the look of the world and density of things but I certainly hope they continue to evolve with the engine. And for the love of God if they even go unreal engine 5, I hope there's more optimizations by then or else those of us on the high end will have to try to brute Force performance or use things like dynamic multi-frame gen or something to help.

I'm ok with all that as long as the DLSS patch continues to evolve like it has.

As another aside, I'm really glad that we might not be getting newer hardware for another year or two in terms of PC and maybe consoles. We absolutely need to continue to optimize what we have and in some way the stupid shortage or whatever apocalypse in pricing will work out if the devs play their cards right.

It's pretty discouraging to see PC hardware sales down but what else can be expected during a time when core components are pretty much at record highs.

I built my am5 rig 2 years ago and enjoy the current upgrade patch as well as the 90 series cycle since the 3000 series. If it wasn't for that, I would likely still be on the 80 tier with how prices are today.

Ironically my friend just sent me a pic of an Astral 5080 hr picked up alongside the 9850X3D. He in the high end minus I have the 5090. And he got a "deal" on the memory for 200 (32gb lol) on Facebook marketplace. I still cringe that I got my 654gb 6000 CL30 out for he payed for slower and less memory but that is the world we live in now.

YouTuber ElanalistaDebits said the game typically runs at 1080p. I didn't post his video because he sometimes makes mistakes, and I'd rather wait for DF to confirm this. However, the likelihood that this game runs at 1440p at an average of 60 fps is very slim. The PS5 would need to be 50% faster than the 2080ti, a card that the PS5 Pro has trouble beating.
It looks like 1080p using FSR 1.2 I believe

Missing out? I thoroughly completed this game and its expansions on a PS4 years ago.

Just started this on PS5 Pro and it's just not for me personally.
It feels really floaty and your character doesn't react to the environment, no footprints or splashes in puddles. I know that nitpicking but I personally think those things matter.

Puddlegate 2.0! 😅

I mean different strokes for different folks and all, but this is extremely nitpicky.

While details like this are nice, KCD focuses on different things and has things and details no other games have. For example, the way drinking and alcoholism works. Or the way fatigue works. Or the way every NPC is persistent and simulated. Or how reading books is done before you learn to read. Game development is about priorities and every game has those different.

No idea what you mean by floaty though. KCD controls perfectly on controller to me. Hell the stick sensitivity, acceleration etc is so good, I am always pissed off when I start a new game and its default settings suck ass (e.g. High on Life 2 I tried today).

I can't believe I missed this game. I started playing over the weekend and it's pretty amazing so far.

Is it true that the update for consoles added FSR 1.0?

I don't own the game on PS5 but it definitely looks like it on Xbox. This game straight up looks better on my Series S + plasma TV than my Series X + OLED.

The PC version isn't exactly perfect either though. Much of the game runs at locked 165fps on my system but then becomes a stuttery 50fps mess if I look in the wrong direction. I'll probably just end up playing it on my old plasma regardless of everything else since it's got way better motion clarity anyway.

  • Kingdom Come Deliverance has received a free Next-Gen patch for PS5 and Xbox Series.
  • PS5 / PS5 Pro and Xbox Series X allow us to enable/disable HD textures. Xbox Series S does not have this option.
  • PS5 Pro has a higher internal resolution with better performance than the other versions.
  • The PC version is still above the other platforms with the settings maxed out. However, KCD remains a very demanding title at these settings.
  • The Game Pass version includes these improvements on Xbox.

...wait, plasma has better motion clarity then OLED?
I have been gaming on plasma (Panasonic 55ST50) for the last 13 years and so far felt zero need to upgrade, but I assumed plasmas are worse at everything these days.

I use DLDSR to downsample games from 2880x1620 to 1080p which makes everything looks so good..

Even with this "next gen" upgrade it looks super rough. Hand to hand combat is dreadful, and feels a lack of polish overall.

I know the game is super good but it's rough coming from KCD2.

Should I buy this game and sink 100 hours in to it? Is it worth the time?

I really like the look of this and the second game, is the combat really clunky?

Combat is unique, some ppl hate it, some love it, if u come with open mind and learn it, it has certain depth to it(remember its an rpg, u wont be combat virtuoso super early in the game).
U could watch quick combat guide on yt to decide:

Oh my bad. I just checked and Warhorse are from the porn country. I thought it was from the unhinged catholics country. Nevertheless just your post history in this thread gives this version more than enough polish.

They also want to beat the German at the beginning of the game, I can support that!

Least imperialistic Pole. You got lucky the popular culture of today has forgotten your history previous to the XX century.

Compared to western imperialistic countries that committed genocides on entire groups of people (+slavery) and stole their wealth we are saints! :messenger_beaming:

It's a fair game!

It's worth sinking 200 hours into. It's an incredible game. Sure the combat is clunky compared to KCD2. But just learn the master strike and it will trivialise most combat situations. You can also finish the whole game without any combat and just using speech except for 1 combat encounter

Is it possible to do an "honorable" playthrough?
No pickpocketing or thieving or breaking the law.

I usually play a goodie goodie on my 1st run.

Plasmas have much better motion clarity at 60hz. OLEDs are great once you're in the 120fps+ range but for anything capped at 60fps then plasmas completely trounce them.

Of course. This is a deep ass RPG so every path is viable (but it's harder to be honorable, of course - though it makes the economy of the game really shine)

Dynamic res, 1080p is pretty common on PS5 while Pro is more 1200-1440p.

PhaYKd503jFoEhfg.jpg

1080p is the minimum resolution on PS5.

He shows the average resolutions :
- PS5: 1160p
- PS5 Pro: 1380p (PS5 Pro could easily go higher than 1440p when not in town. Based on power consumption PS5 Pro is hardly been pushed to its max in this game)

That's with HD texture ON

1080p is pretty much constant inside the "city" (and 1160p average is barely more than 1080p).

They should use a mix of medium and very high settings (instead of much more demanding ultra settings) to achieve 1600-1800p 60 fps. This should be possible with the PS5 hardware, and the graphics would look much better thanks to the sharper image.

This is new information for me. And very surprising. Aren't most games on consoles 60fps? And most PC gamers also still target 60. Strange to read new technology is inferior at such critical aspect.
I do love how smooth and sharp games look at 60fps on the plasma though, that's true.

Plasma TVs have good motion clarity (4 blurred pixels during fast motion 1000 pixels per one second). The 60 fps on my panasonic GT60 plasma is similar to 240 Hz OLED, but games are definitely smoother and more responsive at 240 Hz.

what the fuck

But only if you can drive 240fps, right? Or 120 at least? Which requires much more expensive hardware..
Yes, to achieve the same motion clarity as GT60 plasma, I need to run games at 240 fps on my OLED. 120 fps is only half as clear, but it looks acceptable unless I move the camera too quickly. I'm a big fan of plasma TVs. Nothing beats a plasma TV for 1080p 60fps content or Blu-ray movies. I would rather play in 1080p on plasma than 1440p on 4K oled.

I don't remember the game being this blurry on PS4
