No, would love a Killzone 2 remake on their modern Decima tech with the distinct feel of the original and Liberation weapons.
Now we're talking!

Its a pity that everything has to be open world now but after Killzone 2's bland CoD weapons and Killzone 3's ending I can't say I miss the saga. But I'd probably will play a new instalment before an open world slop.

We're still pretending these are real numbers?
100% real not inflated at all

There's nothing wrong with bundles when the hardware is available. Forbidden West on the other hand benefited greatly from the fact that hardly any standalone PS5 consoles were available.
In my opinion a bundle is fine when you're bundling one game. But when you're bundling multiple games like in those example it kinda feels like you're dumping e-waste.

However, I find that gamers in general have become grossly hyperbolic, to the point of coming off as either; delusional or ignorant. Or even worse, just attention-seeking so they throw out the hottest takes out there.

This comment of yours, however, has goaded me into responding. I honestly can't take anyone seriously who would say KZ or Horizon are mediocre franchises, and that GG is not a good studio.

I'm not worried about you finding my hyperbolic or if you don't take me seriously.

I try to only talk from experience;

Killzone is the very definition of average. In fact, from personal experience having put a lot of time in to a lot of popular FPS and Third Person Shooter games from the N64 onwards (Goldeneye, Perfect Dark, Medal of Honor, Call of Duty, Halo, Gears of War, Battlefield, Battlefront, Resistance Fall of Man, Destiny and probably more that I am forgetting right now) Killzone actually sits comfortably at the very bottom of that list. Bland gunplay, bland gameplay, boring stories and objectives.

Yes, I find it mediocre. To be honest, I find it a poor effort from Sony but I'm not going to call it a poor game considering what exists out there.

Horizon was a step up from Killzone, but still a very safe formulaic game from a gameplay POV, and pretty poor from a story POV. Again from the open world games that I've played, which include games from franchises like GTA, TLoZ, AC, Far Cry if you were to ask me what Horizon did well in comparison or even what it excelled at I wouldn't be able to list any or many valid points. Mediocre.

That is my legitimate view on the studio having played all of their games from Killzone 1 onwards (apart from the latest Horizon game). Disagree all you like but mine isn't a view born from ignorance, and as this is my view on their end product how am I going to think that GG are a good or great studio.

Killzone was never on PC, so I don't really care about it. FPS games are nigh unplayable with a controller and I'm very impressed by all of you that do play these type of games on a console.
Funnily enough I do have these games, even a nice steel box edition for part 2 and got Shadow Fall as a launch game.

OP is the same dude that hated Killzone 1 and 2 when it launched. I believe he talked trash about it, how bad it is and how Halo is better. But now suddenly he wants it....

As always, it depends on the price. If the games in the bundle are being sold for under 50% of the current price, I agree with you. But if they're still around ~70–80% of the current price, then only people who really want them will buy. I just can't remember the prices anymore.

Killzone was okay, but it was never really a great franchise, never quite hitting the mark, and never sold all that well either. Whilst also not selling gang busters I'd far prefer more resistance games, a remake would be a great start as it's been so long.

The aesthetic of KZ2 was freaking cool, I still liked Killzone
Shadow fall, although visually was missing the tones of 2 and 3. It was ok, I just didn't like that they went with much bigger maps...

But happy to still have all the games for the PS3 and PS4.
Never tried the psp one .

Saying Killzone 2 and 3 still looks really impressive and I still play several times per year.

I never played Killzone, but from the looks of it it looked very cool and awesome.

But we can't forget that this is modern day Guerilla:

Whatever "edge" they used to have has been completely polished away for the benefit of overly sensitive woke people. I would dread seeing what modern day Guerilla would do to a Killzone game.

Yeah I agree. I thought Killzone 2's multiplayer was fine, especially at the time. But I didn't take anything away from it that was beyond memorable. I honestly think I had more fun with Resistance, albeit I know it wasn't a Guerilla game, lol.

Resistance was also amazing.

60 player multiplayer and a campaign that was so good with large scale battles.

Those are the numbers we have so Unless you have personally audited their sales records those are the numbers we go with
You can go with whatever you want, but when you tout nearly 50 million in sales without any context you're pretending that they really sold 50 million copies of these games. The amount of bundles and $10 upgrades that are counted as "sales" is significant and every time people brag on this series they continently leave that out.

If modern games couldn't be more obvious lol. But its good to know that when the apocalypse hits earth and is taken over by robots, us men can sit back and relax while the women do all the hard work.

If you had played Killzone back in 2005 you would understand why people love it so much .

As someone that grew up with a PS2 back in the early 2000s, playing Killzone 1 for the first time just a few months after launch made my jaw hit the floor, just as hard as it did when I originally got the console in 2001 with Gran Turismo 3. Compared to anything else I had ever played up to that point it felt like a generational leap had just occured, despite the fact that both games I just mentioned were running on the exact same hardware.
I played it back in 2005, it was garbage

It was a mediocre FPS that only got attention because PS players had no awareness of the much better shooters that were available on Xbox and PC

This Horizon screens hurt my eyes, the guy nipple....

Vomit Barf GIF

Also, Killzone is a war zone with incredible atmosphere, Gray/Brown full of smoke, debris and ppl firing at each other, its the most atmospheric war game i ever played, its a shame that it died for this agenda game.

i miss the manly games made for men

To be honest, I feel like the Sony third party ips get worse generationally.

I do remember when Killzone came out swinging as a halo killer and, erm, didn't succeed... And then the Killzone 2 e3 prerender came out. I also remember playing it on a 12 inch crt in the back room of my parents house at age 13 or something. Good times. Killzone is far more interesting than Horizon.

Perhaps Ubislop is just the natural level that things settle at? Water finds its own level and whatnot. The market spoke, and it wants Aloy.

If they just made a game where we actually play as the Helghast, I'd get it day one.

Its just crazy you get the original siege guy (before siege went to shit) and this is what you do...

Instead of a new KZ or military style game

I was going to answer "I'm not a fan of the sequels but there no doubt the atmosph…" then 30 seconds in appears Rico and I'm like… oh yes… it wasn't only the new guns what I hated about this game. It holds fantastic, tho. Not one inch of better resolution but 60fps and it could pass as a remaster.

I love Killzone but it didn't have mass appeal. Guerrilla Games started to find a footing with the franchise with KZ 2 and 3 but then Shadow Fall was a travesty of PS4 launch title, maybe with more time it could have been better. But it is what it is.

Horizon has broader appeal, but it only took the second game for Guerrilla to fuck it up with politics and all. Not that casuals care, going by sales numbers.

Rico is the "brainless shot first dude bro" that has been appearing in every war movie since ever, he is not a great character but i m accustomed to his depiction in media, the gameplay is awesome, first game that it made you feel the weight of a fully geared soldier in combat, for some is a flaw, but i really did liked, but the atmosphere and level of detail in this game is some of the best even by today standards imo.

the ragdoll in this game is also one of the best in gaming.

I agree with you in everything. But the presence of Rico is so constant and so annoying. I just can't.

there is nothing special about killzone.

Assuming there is a new killzone, it would be destroy by COD/battlefield or similar likes games.

Horizon series is super average and derivative, but Killzone was bad too tbh.

Graphically it was awesome, but outside of Killzone 2 that had some good things and the PS Vita one that was really good, the series was nothing exciting.

Guerilla are just not that good as developers and should concentrate on expand decima engine for the other teams and helps PlayStation studios on the tech side.

I loved Killzone 2 and 3. I probably even liked and played Shadowfall more than most people here.
I would love for the franchise to come back, the gameplay had a lot of room for improvement but the world, visuals and even the music were always great. The story in the games kinda sucked but the Killzone universe actually has a really interesting backstory and lore that could be explored in more detail to make something really memorable.

But lets be real, Killzone died because it was never that popular and it never sold particularly well. And when Guerilla finally made something new they found a lot more success with it.
The only thing that died for Hunters Gatherings is our chances of getting the next single player Horizon game before like 2028-9.

All I want is for Sony to port all the Killzone games (maybe just 2 thru Shadow Fall) to PSVR2. Killzone 3 already supported motion controls and Stereo 3d. Release them one at a time and charge $30 a piece and I would rebuy them. Don't even need to update the graphics at all IMHO. Maybe just a texture resolution bump for the PS3 Killzone.

Killzone 2 was great but the best game in the franchise is actually Liberation on PSP.

Best top down shooter ever made. It'sthat good.

They'd mess with it too much and ruin what made it great. I think crisp visuals would take away the dark, gritty vibe.
Thats a different story whether they get it right. They can at least try to keep the tone.
I still want them to try, Remaster would be cheaper than creating a new KZ, much cheaper. And for MP. Just Expand the MP, add KZ3 MP stuff and some added, updated modes.

If done right, they get a decent FPS and another MP game
Afterwards they can think of sequels again. First bring back the Killzone safely lol

Also do the for Resistance/Uncharted 1 and do the same. New expanded MP mode for them, and remake for SP fans. Much cheaper than creating sequels and doesnt require the original teams as much. Just some safe guarding.

Of course has to be done right.
Sony has billions, they need to spend that money for us :p

lol this is NOT happening, ever. Look at what Microsoft is doing with that pointless Halo remake. No multi whatsoever. They want to funnel people into their new games not have them playing old multi and having to maintain it forever and compete with their new games (MS learned this the hard way with Halo MCC/Shitfinite/5).

People need to just move on.

Im not saying its gonna happen. I just think they should do it.
Halo remake is different to the Metroid Prime remaster, its not a complete change, doesnt require years of work by a full studio.

Yes they want to funnel people into new games, but if someone isnt a fan of the genre there not gonna jump in. This just gives more games and options for fans.
They dont have a FPS game like Killzone. They have Destiny and Marathon, not the same kind of fans or gameplay.

If it sells, and has some people playing it for a couple of years, makes some money, what difference does it make if its new or old.
They dont need every game to be billion dollar sales. Some people are not gonna play HD2, Marathon or Fortnite no matter what, but they will play simple MP games.

Plus Remaster, that sells 3+ million, why not. Not say they will, but its a good move for fans
