Do you consider moving from PlayStation to Xbox after Sony's recent string of failures?

Are you changing your primary console after the recent events?

Where is the "Lmao" option?
If anyone's actually considering moving from Playstation to Xbox, not a PC then they should just wait for the Steam Machine and go for that.
Thing is, you're not going to convince console-only gamers to switch to PC en mass... What will probably happen is older PS players will just check out and become retro gamers, or switch to cloud/subscription options casually.

For the most part, this industry as we know it is fucked.

We should all just dig out our 360s and start having LAN parties again, the games were better, the community was better, the controllers were better, and we all know it.
Early 360 years were the best still playing halo 2 on live everyone on the mics talking shit, now it's quite like a library and if u do call someone a whore or say Sonic's gay instantly banned.

But the next Xbox IS a PC, one that can play Xbox BC games. And it's gonna be much, much more powerful than the Steam Machine.

Steam Machine is gonna be like $700+ with awful specs, 8 gb vram.

What is Microsoft doing that's any different than what Sony is doing? For the record, I already have a Series X and a PS5.
They've both fucked over gamers in different ways, and made similar mistakes as well.

MS stopped having quality exclusives on their platform, resulting in a loss of interest in it. They thought they could buy up the industry devs and that would fix everything. It didn't, and only proved they haven't learned a damn thing since the Rare acquisition.

Sony stopped caring about their loyal fan-base of single player games, and got extremely arrogant when the other competition screwed the pooch. They thought blind loyalty would convince their base to keep buying whatever they came up with, and GaaS became their priority. It's just now becoming obvious to some that they think the new generation will flock to them while dropping the date that brought them to the prom.

Kind of funny and sad at the same time.

Microsoft couldn't care less about about Xbox so thats not a option. Sony seems to be making bad game after bad decision after canceled live service game...

Pc is the only serious option

I never got the concept of "switching consoles." Unless you're on a super tight budget, get the console that has the most games you like. Otherwise, play games across multiple consoles. And for multi platform titles, get it on the console you enjoy using the most.

I've never felt the need to become a one console exclusive guy. Why limit yourself if you don't have to?

lol no. I tried Xbox several times over the years; only the Xbox 360 served me well for an entire console generation. Before and after that, the Xbox brand has not been for me.

If anything, I will lean into Nintendo again. I have a Switch 2, and I'll just deal with the lesser tech and Nintendo's bullshit because at the end of the day, all of these clueless corpos have been steadily ruining this industry with their greed and the grass isn't always greener on the other side.

Absolutely not. PS5/PS5 Pro has given us 60fps as standard once again and for that I'm very pleased with this generation. Yes, some games still have a 30fps option, but most offer a 60fps option and with VRR can exceed that with unlocked framerates.

I have absolutely no reason to switch to Xbox, especially the new Xbox which is just going to be a Windows 11 based PC.

In the last month after over 20 years I have switched back to pc from playstation. If Sony had just maintained what they did with PS4 I would have been more than happy but what a shitshow this gen has been. £70 games, hardly any exclusives, those that are exclusive only come out every 4 to 5 years. Focus on Gaas. The worst gen they have ever had and its not even close

So uh... Do you consider moving from Xbox to PlayStation after MicroSoft's recent string of... MicroSoft?

While the PS5 is objectively a much less interesting console than the PS4, I left the Xbox ecosystem after the Xbox One disaster and never returned.

I built a gaming pc last year, which is just as well considering RAM prices now.

Sony have struggled this gen, and there has been nothing of interest first party wise from them.

The less said about Xbox the better, but at least there has been some exclusives

Only if they completely stop the single player cinematic games.
Even though they fucked up big time, they remain the publisher with the most AAA single player games with s focus on good story telling and gameplay.

I really hope they have started the course correction but the Bluepoint news make me believe otherwise.

Sony's first party's output has been disastrous this gen, and ironically their console is partially relying on Microsoft's offerings to keep things interesting. Their focus on GaaS and closure of Bluepoint being the culmination of years of poor management decisions.

Taking in consideration the high probability of Microsoft releasing their next-gen hardware much sooner, the power of Gamepass(tm) and their more open ecosystem, would that convince you to switch sides after 2026 comes to an end?
