Kingdom Come Deliverance - PS5/Series Upgrade Announced - Free for Owners - PC Ultra Settings + 60FPS

I don't usually mess around with ENBs and similar mods, but I tried this new preset for KCD 1 and it's honestly incredible. It really brings the colors and overall atmosphere much closer to the second game. Extremely well done.

Sounds interesting, I'll give it a try later. I saw there's a mod that adds ray tracing to KCD, but I never tested it. If the game already runs kinda rough without RT, imagine with it on. I also saw a mod that adds DLSS 3.5, but I didn't try that either, and if I remember right it had some technical issues.

I'm still waiting for an update to the mod that adds native HDR support to KCD, but so far nothing.

I don't get why people say that the game runs rough. Yes, it requires semi competent hardware to max out but running rough? I really don't see it.

Missed that part. But then you should know how great gaming on a plasma feels.
Of course, but I never played on OLED TV and so just naturally assumed that it is superior due to being much newer tech (and reading all the time how good it is on forums like this one).

This is new information for me. And very surprising. Aren't most games on consoles 60fps? And most PC gamers also still target 60. Strange to read new technology is inferior at such critical aspect.
I do love how smooth and sharp games look at 60fps on the plasma though, that's true.
Yeah, 60fps is why I've stuck with the plasma on my consoles. I've made two attempts to switch to OLED TVs but didn't find it worth losing the motion clarity at 60hz. They're amazing at native 4k144 but not so much at 1440p60.

As to why plasmas are smoother, it's basically for the same reason that many of us still love CRTs and nvidia's new Pulsar monitors are becoming a thing. Plasmas are also 'pulsed' displays so they benefit in the same ways. They still don't match CRTs but they're much closer to those than regular LCDs and OLEDs.

They're different. I love my OLED lg c1 but it's quite a different experience than playing on a plasma

My biggest complaint against OLED is that they're shit if it's sunny

Don't get me wrong, OLED is amazing, but nothing (aparts from CRT) beats the motion clarity of a plasma. I still miss my plasma a lot, it kicked the bucket a few years ago and I still mourn the loss.

Fascinating. Now I regret not buying 65" plasma when they were still made and getting "only" 55 xD
Since size is the main thing I was considering an upgrade to some new TV.

The picture on my QD-OLED monitor looks worse on a sunny day (10% contrast lost), but it's still watchable and I wouldn't describe it as bad. Typical plasma or CRT had real problems on sunny days. The picture looked washed out because of the grey plasma panel/CRT tube. During the day, the contrast was washed out (lost) by 70%.

The last plasma TVs like my GT60 offerred better experience in well lit room because the glass was darker thanks to filters.

My QD-OLED monitor panel is even darker than my GT60 plasma, and even on a sunny day, I don't feel that picture (contrast) gets worse by more than 10% let alone becomes unwatchable. I would need to put my monitor outside in direct sunlight, or place a softbox / strong light near it. Only then would the panel appear dark grey/purple, but that's not realistic / practical scenario for watching content. This is my QD-OLED in a well-lit room. There are 3x 70W lights in the room and the blacks still look very good.

If I displayed the same background on my CRT monitor during the day, I would barely be able to see anything. If people are bothered by slight contrast loss on a sunny day, I recommend turning down the blinds and the problem is solved.

Yeah the game is great but I have to say this is one of the most unstable games I have played on my PS5. You literally have at least one crash per two hours. It wouldn't be such a big issue if the game saved itself regularly but it doesn't so that means way too often you are put behind 30 minutes of progress just because happened to open inventory at the wrong time and game crashes on you.

It's one of the GOATs, no doubt. Enjoy!
Its unique and great western rpg experience, there is a reason reviewers only gave the game 76 score on its best version(pc), console versions got even less 69 on ps4, 68 on xbone- game is based and hard, thats 2 kryptonites already and easily -15 metascore brownie points right there :P

The PS5Pro is the best version of the game. It runs over 30fps even in indoors. The PC version runs at over 100 fps, which is too high and can cause motion sickness. So, yes, guys, play the game on the PS5 Pro.

No way it's dropping to 30s the on ps5 pro. Let's wait for DF.

I'm over 100 FPS pretty much at all times with mostly ultra settings and max draw distance.

No sarcasm ;)

Yes I was joking and I thought it was obvious

We now have two sources showing sub-60 fps on the PS5 Pro. I doubt the DF video will show a different picture. Since they started working independently, we need to wait a long time for their analysis, and I'm not even sure if we will ever see their video about this PS5 / PS5Pro update for KCD.

The RX6800 on PC has well over 120fps at 1440p. For some strange reason, the PS5 Pro doesn't run KCD as well as the RX 6800 despite having similar GPU power.

Ultra SVOGI is crazy expensive indoors. It even drops to 40fps on my 4070TI SUPER with native 4K.

It drops below VRR window in some houses so it's less than 48FPS 100%.

Is there such a demanding house somewhere in Rattay City? So far, the houses I have visited run at 73–85 fps in 4K with the Ultra settings preset.

This house in opening area is like that, they even used it in benchark you posted, haha. Ultra vs. v. high.

v. high benchmark for 6800 is much easier to run. Using Ultra on consoles is not very logical...

Taking a break ftom my Fallout 4 replay and started this yesterday night.

Escaped my burning village in the prologue overencumbered with 467 nettles in my inventory.

I did you proud 😄

If I remember correctly 100 would be sufficient, 467 is crazy. Next tip: pick flower power perk and always keep the required amount of herbs in your inventory for that sweet charisma boost.

OK, but where exactly is that house? Could you share the GPS coordinates 😂 (or just the location on the map)?

I think there is literally the one bugged house that for whatever reason Warhorse never fixed since OG release. In general this is not what you are going to see with 99% of the game.

I'm playing on my pc and it's running insane.

Is there a point to bother using ultra or should I stick to very high with a 5080?

I also turned all the draw distances to full. Not sure if there's a point in that.

But anyway. 45 hours play time. I've not left the first town properly yet.

Jeeesus this game is like Witcher levels of amazing. Better in many ways.

I think Very High is just fine. I don't remember Ultra bringing in that much on top.

And yeah, the game is deep and has a ton of quests, NPCs and great storytelling.

It's prologue like MidGenRefresh MidGenRefresh said.

Notice that lighting is completely borked this time around on Pro, but still drops well below 48FPS. Looks like this remaster is very buggy.

Okay, using the GPS coordinates you provided, I found this merchant store. There is indeed a significant performance loss in that room, not to mention the lighting looks glitched. Lowering the graphics quality to very high increases the framerate by 98%. At 1440p, the difference in framerate between the Ultra and Very High settings is even greater 127%.

2160p Ultra - 52 fps

2160p Very High - 103 fps

1440p Ultra - 76 fps

1440p Very High - 173 fps

The performance in other houses is much better.

4K Ultra

In my opinion, the ultra settings are usable on my PC even at 4K, except for this one bugged house (merchant store). However, very high settings definitely offer way better performance. Some people might prefer twice the framerate to slightly better lighting quality.

For consoles ultra settings doesnt make much sense given how well the RX6800 runs the game at very high settings (over 120fps). This game could run at 1440p 120fps with very high settings, or 1800p and a locked 60 fps on the PS5 Pro, and the image would be sharper. A 1200-1440p resolution with 40-60 fps is not optimal compromise for the PS5 Pro.

Yes, the best results are achieved with very high settings at 4K. Even in the glitched house, I see 100 fps, while outside it's often 130-140 fps.

The Ryzen 3600 in consoles would not be able to do stable 120fps. But I do agree Saber should have set lighting option to very high instead of ultra on consoles, that would pretty much eliminate the drops below 60.

Yes, it combines Witcher 3's handcrafted approach to world and quest design + good writing with much deeper mechanics and simulation.
That is why both KCD games are in my TOP5 (next to Witcher 3, RDR2 and Deus Ex).
