Hopefully there will be a non LRGPS5 or Switch physical version. Not going to bother with LRG directly. Maybe if it's going to hit Amazon or another store.

Down AF.

I'll always remember hearing that Colossus yell in almost every single arcade I'd go to in the 90s. I miss it, lol. ALL the arcade noise and you'd STILL make it out.

Oh wow. I usually play this stuff "upright" on my cheap arcade knock-offs, but — I'm SO DOWN. EDIT—wish they had the 32X Spider-Man Web of Fire on this. EDIT EDIT—not Konami, I guess. Oh well.

No thanks since it's LRG. They have some of the worst customer service ever. It's far too risky to buy from them as a collector since they won't do shit if the game gets damaged during shipping.

THE AVENGERS! AMERICA STILL NEEDS YOUR HELP! Gotta love those amusing voice clips from the Avengers title.

I never played Maximum Carnage but the ads were all over gaming magazines back in the ancient days.

X-Men the Arcade Game was always the GOAT so seeing it here is awesome.

Finally.

X-men the arcade game is back. Worth it just for that game alone.

Silver Surfer is nice if people want to experience a game that increase their blood pressure.

Maximum Carnage, I remember this game being very hard? Maybe because I was young. I do remember that you could call in support, such as Cloak and Dagger, which was a nice feature.

Now I just need the Simpsons arcade game and Capcom's Alien vs Predator and I'll be able to re-live my arcade childhood.

Missing the GOAT, aka X-Men 2: Clone Wars.
Missing:

- Spider-Man vs The Kingpin (Genesis/ Mega Drive) - I still think this is one of the best 16-bit Spider-Man games
- The Amazing Spider-Man vs The Kingpin (Sega CD/ Mega CD)
- X-Men - (Genesis / Mega Drive)
- X-Men 2 : The Clone Wars (Genesis/ Mega Drive)
- Spider-Man Web of Fire (32x) - This is not a great game, IMO.

Sega is completely absent from this collection, yet again. A common thread.

Also missing:
- The Incredible Hulk (Probe software) - SNES or Genesis/ MD
- X-Men Mutant Apocalypse (Capcom) - SNES
- Marvel Super Heroes - War of the Gems (Capcom) - SNES
- The Punisher (Capcom) - Preferably arcade, but there is also a Genesis/MD port

handheld games:

GameBoy:
- The Amazing Spider-Man (Rareware/ LJN)
- The Amazing Spider-Man 2 (Bits Studio/ LJN)
- The Amazing Spider-Man 3 (Bits Studio/ LJN)
- The Punisher - The Ultimate Payback(Acclaim)

GameGear:
- X-Men (Sega)
- X-Men : GamesMaster's Legacy (Sega)
- X-Men : Mojo World (Sega)

But other than that, the two highlights of this collection are the Konami arcade port of X-Men (with online multiplayer) and the arcade version of Captan America and the Avengers. These two games alone are the pinnacle of weird Engrish dialogue.

Yeah Maximum Carnage is Ok... Separation Anxiety is not as good of a game, IMO. Spider-Man/X-Men: Arcade's Revenge is a 'no thanks' to me. Silver Surfer has an incredible soundtrack by the Geoff and Tim Follin, but it is also a mediocre game attracted to it. Though I guess, Arcade's Revenge also has an incredible Follin soundtrack as well.

The Punisher arcade game is on Marvel vs Capcom Fighting Collection.

I'm noticing a lot of people missed out on X-Men Arcade when it was released years ago on Xbox 360 and PS3 before delisting. Same with Simpsons arcade.

I had them both on PS3, but when my PS3 died I had no way to access them.

That's why I'm glad X-Men is back. Hopefully Simpsons is next and after that, I'm praying for Alien vs Predator. The holy trilogy of 90s arcade beat em ups.

Overall, here's what you are getting with this collection...
  • X-Men: The Arcade Game (Arcade version with 6-player online co-op and rollback netcode).
  • Captain America and The Avengers (Arcade, Sega Genesis, and NES versions).
  • Spider-Man/Venom: Maximum Carnage (SNES and Sega Genesis versions).
  • Venom/Spider-Man: Separation Anxiety (SNES and Sega Genesis versions).
  • Spider-Man/X-Men: Arcade's Revenge (SNES, Sega Genesis, Game Boy, and Game Gear versions).
  • Silver Surfer (NES version).

I guess it is neat that they are including both the 16-bit versions of Maximum Carnage. To be honest I generally prefer the SNES version of Maximum Carnage. The Genesis generally has the better home port of Captain America and the Avengers. But it is a shame that they didn;t go all the way and include the GameGear, GameBoy or SNES versions. Just for a competionists sake.

Arcade's Revenge is not really a good game by any measure, its' best attribute is the games soundtrack. The same can be said for Silver Surfer.

That's a good point. Capcom already has that one in their own collections. Shame about some of those Sega Marvel games... well all of them, really. Even the GameGear X-Men games are great in their own right.
