I take that back - there's some visible shimmering/sizzling and general upscale fuckery, it's not as bad as Silent hill 2 Remake or Alan Wake 2 but it's definitely there...

Also : fucking Capcom and their sensitivity curves man, I must have spent 15-20 minutes dialing those stick sensitivity settings to my liking, it's like this in every single game.

Also Pt2: Feck Grace's 1st person camera, this ain't Outlast, I'm going all in with the 3rd person one, RE is only 3rd person, don't know what they were thinking starting this 1st person shite since RE7, bahhhh...

Did you order the standard or deluxe? lots of chatter about amazon delaying deluxe shipments to March with no notice.

If anyone cares what the deluxe charms do, it's increased precision and critical hits for each character. Leon's Noir suit is smart as hell and there's something lovely about having the old menu/inventory sounds.

The beginning of the game is incredible, like a top tier movie. The jump from Grace's horror film vibes to Leon's badassery works better than I expected. Also, slight Remedy vibes to the way the location comes up on the TV in massive font. First hour gets 10/10 but that's my limit this late.

Ah, so the 'sounds of raccoon city' thing is basically an sfx swap from the older games. Kinda figured.

Have you found any of those "Letters from 1998" things so far?

There is also a soundtrack swap but I've not noticed it yet - two different options on bonus menu, one for sfx and one for music. There was a YouTube I posted earlier playing the old RE2 save room music in game.

Haven't found any letters yet. Already missed a file, keep your eye open on the opening street.

I missed two somehow! Thought I was fairly thorough, seems not!
 
For those playing already, how is the difficulty? Was a bit bummed that they didn't have a hard mode from the get go. Is the classic mode challenging enough? Seems like Leon's portions have no impact at all on classic?
 
Please tell me the starting section is not that scary. I am literally freaked out.

The graphics are crazy though.

I am still debating if I wanna spend $100 on the Pro Controller for Switch 2. I keep looking at it on best buy, because it's still available for pick up when I get my games.

Yes, I am having to conserve ammo like a mf and zombies are vicious, once they close in it is very difficult to get a shot because of how they move. Almost guaranteed bite. I have 3 saves going cause I am afraid I will have to go back and start over because my resources are low. It's pretty perfect.

Just got it off Fanatical for $57. They have a "free RE Requiem Gift" and when you click it it's a $1 off your next order coupon. :messenger_winking_tongue: Downloading now.

I'm reading some reviews and it looks like there's no PT for AMD and the 5060 Ti is only getting 58fps at 1440p with FGx2. Damn. Oh well, looks like I can't play with PT unless I do 1080p and MFG. This shit is heavy!

I think it's most likely decompiling the downloaded data, and it shows as "Download"? I don't know, I still have Claire B and RE4R to play before this.

I'm having trouble getting good performance on 4k/high rt/dlss quality/everything else maxed on a 4080 Super 7800x3D. I'm getting an extremely choppy 70-80fps during the opening segment. Any higher end users have a link to a graphics setting guide that is giving you smooth and stable 60fps on 4k/maxed?
