Monitoring the situation in Iran

Come on CNN 😄

That's not entirely full context.

"My administration has taken every possible step to minimise the risk to US personnel in the region. Even so - and I do not make this statement lightly - the Iranian Regime seeks to kill. The lives of courageous American Heroes may be lost, and we may have casualties - that often happens in war - but we're doing this, not for now, we're doing this for the future. And it is a noble mission. We pray for every service member as they selflessly risk their lives to ensure that Americans and our children will never be threatened by a nuclear-armed Iran. We ask God to protect all of our Heroes in harm's way. And we trust that, with His help, the men and women of the armed forces will prevail. We have the greatest in the world, and they will prevail."

Sounds familiar

Yep, that is pretty crazy when you think about it

Israel media reports Khamenei has been eliminated.

Interesting if so. If they can wrap this up as quickly as they think they can, it could mitigate much of the downstream negative effects of prolonged combat that plagued past conflicts. However, the transition of power and what remains to fill the vacuums are still potentially dangerous.

Wouldn't be surprised. Goal is to eliminate Iranian leadership, stockpiles, and other strategic objectives through a sustained bombing campaign. Then encourage various Iranian groups to engage in regime change rather than send American boots on the ground.

Not sure if they will succeed tho.

You haven't missing much. It is just getting started as it is still daytime.
You weren't kidding, just heard a wave of interceptions.

I just hope the US doesn't half-ass this shit.

If they are going to attack Iran, then anything short of a regime change would be a waste of time.

Hoping it doesn't move into a ground phase war.

If so, they should be using something like these for support. Different terrain, different challenges, but in the rural sectors it could work.
