Don't get this. What's the point of sheltering during missile strikes? If anything it worsens your chances I think. Buildings just get turned into rubble. The blast AND the concrete will hit you. (unless you have access to some mega building and you are in the bottom floor I guess.)

Many countries enacted building codes that require reinforced staircases that act as CD shelters after seeing what happened during the Iraq war. The logic is that the building would be fucked but you could stand a chance at being rescued. Every home in Singapore has a closet that is a bomb shelter for example.

The difference now though is due to destruction of enrichment facilities, rebuilding them would take time and Iran has no ability (any time soon) to enrich it further so they probably decided to aim at plain dirty bombs.

The rational Arab countries in the region didn't stand with Iran and are on board with regime change behind closed doors--they want to prosper and be part of the modern world, not engage in perpetual self-defeating fundamentalist jihad--so it's a petty grasp at revenge to strike civilian targets in Dubai, Bahrain, etc. Easier targets at this point, as senseless as it is.

Probably not going to happen. Arab Sunni muslims don't feel much of a connection with Persian Shiite muslims. This is not going to be the hot button topic that the war in Gaza was.

Just some curious info about bomb shelters.

Earlier today on TV they showed people in Tel Aviv walking to a bomb shelter, and it looked like a big parking lot with a pay station gate entrance under a building. So I assumed it was a just an underground parking lot with a bomb shelter section down there too.

So I was curious what bomb shelters look like googling it (including google maps). It looks like most are more like small huts that have a staircase down. And many seem pretty discrete and no signs I saw??? So unless there are signs not in view, not sure how anyone would know where to go. Although I'm sure there's apps or info given out in some way.

I'm not an expert on this stuff, but my hunch is if they take out all or a large chunk of Iranian leadership it wouldn't necessarily mean a free Iran. At least not right away. I think what probably would happen is it creates short term internal maneuvering for power with the military taking over and installing a general or the highest ranking government official alive as leader or something until they figure out what to do next.
