Outside the lack of a PvE only option/mode and wokism applied to the character design making them androginous and unattractive on purpose, I loved the open beta.
I think won't be as successful at launch as Destiny, Helldivers 2 or Arc Raiders due to the lack of PvE, unappealing character design and too harsh difficulty for people who doesn't approach it with the survival/horror/Souls hardcore mindset , and mainstream people who expect it to be a Destiny or Call of Duty will be dissapointed because the game isn't what they expect/want, creating mixed and divisive opinions at launch.
But other than this, judging only for what the hardcore game it is and what it wants to be, I think it's a great game that will be successful specially some time after launch once players realize that the game keeps getting better and better as you keep learning it, unlocking cool stuff and you keep adapting your playstyle to the game.
I think it will take some time to players to realize this, and also a handful months to the devs to fine tune, tweak and fix some stuff, plus implement a couple missing things. But after that I think will have a great word of mouth and will keep growing.
I think crows will be served to those saying this will be Concord 2.0/3.0/4.0.
So new map probably every 6 months, just like arc. Would've loved another regular map sooner, but it is what it is
I played the server slam 31 hours and there are several areas of the two available maps that I didn't properly explore at all. So playing at a normal pace I think they'll have enough maps at launch and the pace of a couple maps per year (+ changes, additions and special events in the older ones) will be ok.
Regarding characters, like with maps I also thought that needed more at launch (particularly at least a manly chad and an attractive female, both things that nowadays seem forbidden in Sony games because they want to keep their games away from white heterosexual males) but now seems fine now to me. I played mainly initially with Destroyer but later switched to Assassin when switched to play solo and only briefly tested Vandal and Rook. Regarding characters will have over 100 hours worth of stuff at launch.
It's also worth mentioning that the game has an insane amount of content regarding missions, rewards of many kinds including many cosmetic character and wepons skins and stickers plus character and weapon omds, several unlockable/skill trees, cool narrative, lore text etc.
