Slay the Spire is massively popular and ironically retained a crazy amount of players despite being single player because of the mods. Very popular in Asia too.
Marathon is Concord 3.I hope Concord 2 (Marathon) fails, and that Concord 3 (Horizon GaaS) follows suit.
Sony PlayStation has the talent to make impressive single-player games; let others handle the multiplayer, because users will mostly play them within the PlayStation ecosystem anyway.
According to insiders the shift has already begun but the results will take time.Aight so let this one bleed out over the next 60 days and then Sony can get back to making really games?
.... guys?
... Bueller?

Fair enough the free to play thing changes my comparison but still it's not good as you say.To be fair to Marathon with regard to those numbers, Marathon is paid while Highguard was free and Highguard had god awful player retention. If Marathon can manage to keep it's player base engaged it should climb a little higher as we get into the weekend and could still pass 100k.
It's still not a great picture for the longer term though.
That's a good point actually, Bungie do have a lot of fan's on the console side, it may do well there.Highguard was F2P, but yeah, those are weak numbers. Helldivers 2 did 430K and costed the same I believe. They either need a mid-sized dedicated player base that will stick around or a huge boost this weekend. That or PS players better be outnumbering PC players 2 or 3 to 1.
My predictions: today's server slam CCU peak will not be topped (even in the weekend), retail launch 50% of server slam CCU peak, and then a gradual drop to 50% of that peak after the first month.
This is not going to pull in the PC/extraction crowd.
Pokopia looks fun tbh
I legit won't be able to play till Friday nightI mean most people are working during this time...
I have zero insight on how that game is selling. I was shocked it reviewed as well as it did.
I just say this, extraction and battle royale for me personally are two of the worst modern day fads ever.
Imagine, how in 2026 don't we have higher aspirations for shooters with large scale team battles. Like yes we have battlefield which I love, 32v32 but how is bungie not giving us a Sci fi shooter that pushes the boundaries? I could sit and probably fathom up multiple types of games with 50v50, 20v20 whatever etc...
25 years ago, 25 fucking years ago Mythic made dark age of Camelot where the pvp zones had 3 large factions that coukd clash and meet in the battlefields and the endless amount of fun we all had, we're talking battles with 30 40 50 people etc...
And here we are in 2026 with these one two three group games, or solo modes blah blah... I just don't get how we aren't further in the pvp world
It does, I almost wanna buy a Switch 2 for it. It has girl sensabilities in mind, which more big studios should aim at, because girls can't get enough of it and it's a massive market.Pokopia looks fun tbh
Im getting killed a lot, server slam was easierHaving a MUCH harder time with this now than I did on the server slam.
