Resident Evil Requiem |OT| Through the Darkness

I found this character to be the best looking in-game model so far when it comes to controlling them. Wonder what kind of sorcery was done that wasn't done for the other Characters.

That is because it's a walking sim section, no real gameplay mechanics involved with this one.

"Requiem is like RE2 and RE4 on crack" with WEAK ass puzzles, WEAK ass bosses and WEAK ass weapon variety/upgrade, it must be a bad batch of crack.

"With zombies with different personalities..." now we play RE game for zombies personalities, its a nice touch but c'mon.

When i say the level of simping for this game is getting out of hand i m not joking

Why are you quoting some unknown random retard that can't even spell basic words correctly?

"week ass puzzles" 😂

Are you 14? Or just dumb? Pick one

you'll be fine!
yeah the zombies with different personalities makes each encounters different, so yeah it does add a challenge, the cop zombie in Re2R is the same as another zombie
who the fuck plays resident evil games for the puzzles?
but yeah I do agree on some of your points , but still
I love this game!
its up there with Re2R and Re4R

Finished at 12 hours. Pretty nice ride. Felt the final boss was weaker when comparing to bosses in previous games.

Final boss reminded me of this:

Not sure if I want to complete a second playthrough just to get infinite ammo. Didn't have enough at the end of the first run. Might give it a go under insanity mode, but after some time away from it.

Thought this was a nice surprise the original re 2 and 3 are free on playstation guess it's for the anniversary but I didn't see this being announced.

Lokaum D+ Lokaum D+

My man you're having an even worse breakdown here than the Starfield reviews thread :messenger_grimmacing_

Why get so worked up that other people are enjoying it this much where you maybe didn't.

They can't help themselves…If they personally don't like the game then others shouldn't either.

I really hope they release a big dlc, which let's you explore more instead of just finding 3 parts in a blend grayish area. The could have added some mutated vegetation in there and new mutated enemies.

So much potential thrown away. RE4R did it better with the boat section.

Thats what i find funny about this, there is no problem on the over glazing of a game, but when ppl start to criticize or pointing flaws they are in the wrong.

I platinumed this game ( i have over 60 hours ) and gave it a 7.5/10, now if you guys want an eco chamber reddit is a better place for it.

For those who have finished Requiem, where do you rank it among the modern games?

I'd probably go:

  1. RE2 Remake
  2. RE4 Remake
  3. RE Village
  4. RE Requiem
  5. RE7
  6. RE3 Remake

I really liked Village though and I know I'm a bit of an outlier on that.

1. RE2R - probably my favorite RE game. Genuinely love every moment of it, neutered A/B scenarios not withstanding. Perfect balance of horror and action.

2. RE9 - just finished my second play through and loved it just as much as the first time. Care Center is immediately an all time great RE area, up there with RPD. Leon combat slaps, as expected.

3. RE4R - a bit of a weird one for me. While it's an awesome game, I find it to be a downgrade from the OG, especially when it comes to atmosphere and charm. Still loved it but I have to remember to take it on its own terms.

4. RE7 - vastly prefer third person, but this gets the claim to fame of being the scariest RE game by a decent margin. You could make a good case it saved the series.

5. RE3 - disappointing remake, but taken on its own merits, it's actually pretty damn fun. Great replay value too.

6. RE8 - meh. I think I said it earlier in this thread but it's like a much weaker take on RE4, but in first person and with a limpdick protagonist. A decent game but in the lower half of mainline RE titles.

I can only criticize something i fully understand, otherwise it would be just hating for the sake of it.

Also, 7.5 is mediocre game ?

how the fuck you guys beating the game in under 4 hours???

i just finished my second run absolutely legging it through as much as I can and clocked in at 6:20 lol...

Infinite ammo that you unlock in the game. Not having to scavenge for blood and optional areas to loot makes it possible. I'm sure you can do it without infinite ammo, but it would be very tough.

Goddamn, this is the OT, we don't need an echo chamber but isn't trolling constantly in here against the rules? You act like we are being forced or paid to love the game or post how much we do. "Simping" for a video game. Are you listening to yourself? We get it, it's a 7.5 to you. Great! Are you trying to convince the rest of us that we should also think so? It's got the best user reviews of any RE and you can't deal with that. It's really sad.

I've actually never seen the amount of trolling and downer posts in any OT besides this one. You all really can't deal with the reception.

Finished it last night, playtrough took 17 hours.
Not the best RE game but overall a good game, give it a 8.5.
My RE top 3: RE Remake, Village, RE2 Remake.

I'd probably go:

  1. RE2 Remake
  2. RE4 Remake
  3. RE Village
  4. RE Requiem
  5. RE7
  6. RE3 Remake

1. RE2 Remake
2. RE4 Remake
3. RE7
4. RE8 Village
5. RE9 Requiem
6. RE3 Remake

RE2 and RE4 are godsends. Although I was slightly disappointed with the cut content and almost identical A/B scenarios between the characters, it still edges out 4 for its story, setting, horror and all round RE vibe.
RE7 is what got me back into Resident Evil. It was a return to form.
Village was pretty fun and had some good lore but it felt too much like RE4-lite.
Requiem is a hard one to rank for me. I loved the first half and loathed the second.
RE3 was a lifeless remake. They had so much potential to expand on the original and they squandered it.

but for me, if Village or 7 was so great I would of had the urge to finish them both when I 1st played them, it wasn't the case than and its still the case now!
they both don't feel like Re games, they could of slapped a different tittle on both and nobody would of question if it is a Re game.
To say RE7 doesn't feel like an RE game is disingenuous. If this were made by any other dev with a different title people would be calling it a blatant rip-off of RE. That's how much it felt like an RE game.

It returned to its horror roots, involves a mansion-like setting, backtracking, puzzles, inventory management, finite saving system (on the harder difficulties), ditched the "arcadey" feel of RE4, 5 and 6 and probably many more mechanics that I'm forgetting.

For those who have finished Requiem, where do you rank it among the modern games?
RE4R
RE2R
RE9
RE3R
RE8
RE7

RE4R and RE2R are very close and a fair bit ahead of the pack. I can acknowledge that 7 and Villager are good/great games but I do not like first person and the more it leans into horror the less I like it.

7,5 is a mediocre score only if you use the modern retarded score scale where 7 is shit, 8 is decent, 9 is good and 10 is great...

7 is good, 7,5 is more than good.

He is not the one with a problem if you think more than good is a mediocre score.

Like it or not, nearly everyone in every existing Western countries' generation had it hammered into their heads during 12+ years of school that 70% was a weak grade.

I say we stop fighting it and just use the 6-10 scale, with everything lower being an F. The clarity is worth the sacrifice of half the scale.

Interestingly, this doesn't really seem to apply to 5-point scales since they don't translate as neatly to school scores. But in execution you end up with some pretty boring scores; any anticipated big game that isn't a total letdown is either a 4 (good) or a 5 (great).

Dragons Dogma 1 and Stellar Blade are both 7/10s to me, and I had blast playing them. Hell Stellar Blade was my GOTY in 2024. You can enjoy a game and still acknowledge its faults.

apparently no, you cant, or you love it or you hate it, there is no middle ground for some retarded ppl over here.

I feel like a Raid Mode would be better for this game, they kinda already have the Credit/Upgrade system in place.
I agree but more because the level design/layout lends itself better to the mission/objective variety needed for Raid. Plenty of paths and shortcuts that loop back on itself.

Almost done with Insanity run, but I cannot figure out the last Leon crafting item. I am at 8/9. I think it's something with the G+G+G.
