Yeah I think most difficult part was Care Center as Grace. Still insanity giving me nice challenge especially I'm without infinite ammo it make resource management fun.
I'm enjoying insanity mode a lot. I kinda ruined my hardest mode play throughs of RE3Make and Village by purchasing weapons that were too good with my CP. So, this time I decided to make reasonable purchases - higher blood collecting cap, more credits for Leon, the Mr. Raccoon map, the Matilda for Leon, and the infinite knife for Grace (too weak to actually help in insanity mode).

I like how it's forcing me to play differently. A lot more running away as Grace, and I'm using the hatchet like crazy to do stealth attacks as Leon.

ayoooo, some nigga made a mod so that Lickers sound like Mike LMFAO

Funny. It's actually a mod made back in January for RE2 supposedly.

So, apparently Capcom released an update for the Switch 2 version, it now runs at 4K when docked.
It's a bit smoother but not in the more problematic moments. I rebooted the part with Leon in the clinic and when you start to cumulate dead bodies fps became again unbearable. The weird thing they could easily fix it making disappears some body because this area is scripted and no more playable but is capcom being capcom, is not new to make weird tech choice.

To me it was easily the best of the trilogy. I have to replay 7 (been a while), but to me 8 sucked hard.

I've enjoyed both Leon and Grace sections. Horror with Grace and action with Leon was really well balanced, imo. Some setpieces were amazing (yeah, the bike part). I've even enjoyed the orphanage part. The feels when going to that place playing that music, felt a lot like MGS IV

Story was all over the place, but seriously, that's RE for you. Saw so many people complaining about it, but it was perfectly fine for RE standard.

And damn, it feels good to play a new RE game with someone from the originals again. They've tried with Ethan, but he was ass. Grace was fine, but the game was clearly elevated by having Leon.

My ranking probably goes like:

- RE 2R
- RE 9
- RE 7
- RE 3
- RE 8

So Leon said he had a cure for Sherry , my question is what about Jill / Carlos / Claire ? I assume based off the story that they all should be infected too right? Hunk as well? Why was Hunk still in top performing condition?

8 started off really good but fell off the moment you finish The House. The 3rd act was monotonous and by the time I got to the final boss, I just wanted it to be over, lol.

Probably a better question for the spoiler thread so people don't need to dance around it. However,

Nobody else is explicitly mentioned other than Chris being "late" in the ending. The others may be doing their own thing but remember they didn't find out it was a T-Virus infection until partway through the game. With the cure being found they may get in contact with the others to give them their own dose as well. It may be addressed in the story DLC. Or may be a plot point that is never addressed again.

I have a crazy and logical explanation for this that will blow peoples mind

Leon has a cure, they can replicate the cure and create more antidotes! Lol

I think it affects people at different rates so obviously Leon was performing pretty well up until X point in the story so there's no reason to think that honk could also be performing pretty well at any given time Period

Let's assume that

now that they have samples of Elips, they can engineer more for any infected person they know. The game itself neglected to mention any of the other RC survivors so they're persona non grata, I guess.

Multiple samples.
Those characters are not in the game.
The character in question is more or less in the same condition as Leon.

Beat it in 11.5 hours. It was fine. I won't be doing a 2nd playthrough.
If I ranked the modern games I'd place it 5th best.
RE2R

true and not true cause we know that ppl associated with Raccoon City started to die at the same time, so we can assume that everyone is almost on the same boat.

I'm absolutely loving Raccoon City. Talk about tugging on the nostalgia strings. They even have the Tofu at the R.P.D.. Holy moly!

I'm pretty much going:

Multiple groups of people made it out of raccoon city and in RE9 only 6 so far have turned up dead and we know 3 more have the same thing (RCS), this doesn't mean that every single person that made it out contracted the latent mutated strain of the t-virus that causes RCS however, those you mentioned could very well not be infected at all, but also since Leon/DSO have a sample of the Elpis they can just replicate it if they need to.

What's the deal with RT being disabled in Raccoon City (on Pro)? Is there any workaround? I've tried turning it off and on and nothing. I know the noise was pretty bad in this area but I didn't mind the trade off.

I let my work colleague have a go through geforce now linked to my steam account.

On new game it puts the bsaa weapons container at the start of the game.

Any way to do a proper new game again?

Just stop thinking about it. Leon was infected to the point his organs started failing spitting out blood and was still functioning. Stop trying to understand the logic.

I'm almost finished and I'm pretty sure my list will end up like this -

RE8
RE7
RE2R
RE3R
RE9
RE4R

Honestly, I love them all for various reasons. It's rough putting a list like this together.

I will say one of the few things that I legitimately hate in this game is the design of the "body" armor, why did they think this was a good idea?

"Clearly if he's about to get hit with gunfire and explosions his shoulders and elbows are what should be protected"

"But what about his torso"

"That's what this weird fabric girdle is for, dummy"

1. RE2R - probably my favorite RE game. Genuinely love every moment of it, neutered A/B scenarios not withstanding. Perfect balance of horror and action.

2. RE9 - just finished my second play through and loved it just as much as the first time. Care Center is immediately an all time great RE area, up there with RPD. Leon combat slaps, as expected.

3. RE4R - a bit of a weird one for me. While it's an awesome game, I find it to be a downgrade from the OG, especially when it comes to atmosphere and charm. Still loved it but I have to remember to take it on its own terms.

4. RE7 - vastly prefer third person, but this gets the claim to fame of being the scariest RE game by a decent margin. You could make a good case it saved the series.

5. RE3 - disappointing remake, but taken on its own merits, it's actually pretty damn fun. Great replay value too.

6. RE8 - meh. I think I said it earlier in this thread but it's like a much weaker take on RE4, but in first person and with a limpdick protagonist. A decent game but in the lower half of mainline RE titles.
Literally the only thing that prevented it from being an actual perfect experience, both compared to the original and objectively.

Just rolled the credits for the first time, and damn, what a great game. I absolutely loved every minute of it. I had heard a lot of people complaining about Grace playing like Outlast but I never felt that way and killed every enemy with her. Leon's sections are a little over the top for me, which is one of the reasons I like RE2/3 better than 4, but overall it was great all around. Even the ending was great. Can't wait to see what they do with DLC.

Lazily crossposting from the Spoiler Thread:

On my fourth run at Insanity, Infinite ammo unlocked, Infinite rocket launcher unlocked, and man, it really does feel like I needed both for this difficulty. At least when it comes to fullfill my playstyle, which is "Every room must be cleared".

First run at Classic difficulty and I really enjoyed my time with the game. Ended at 19 hours.
Not sure what the complaints are about, it felt exactly the same in terms of difficulty than all the original Resident Evil games (first half RE, RE2 and RE3, second half RE4). Maybe just slighly easier than my first run of RE2R, done at Hardcore.
Sure, would have been nice to have another mode between that and Insanity, but I can't really complain.. I was scared, I was stressed, and died quite a few times. The game felt a little bipolar as an experience, and made me extremely worried for the replayability (which is and always will be what makes these games special) but actually on my fourth run now and it's MUCH better than I feared in this regard. With the exception of the Orphanage. That section needs to be skippable.

Love Leon portion of the game, felt a little rushed in polish and quite a bit RE6-like, but loved the structure of that part of the game. This is a true and successful blend of all games in the series, which couldn't have been easy to achieve.

I enjoyed the story for what it is, feel so clever I got the canon ending first time, but the more I think about it the less sense it makes. Like, it's full of things that make zero sense.. Gideon on a armchair blissfully enjoying some music while Grace, the one he had been looking for for decades, the chosen one, the person on the planet he needs the most, is miraculously escaping death downstairs because of a person HE just transformed into zombie the moment she arrives.. like, what?

For the rest, a nice "Resident Evil greatest hits". Love that there was no Ada, I'm so sick of the fact she has to be into every single thing with this character. This was a breath of fresh air, RE Degeneration-like and I loved it.

Audiovisually, the game is great. Playing on PS5 Pro and there's some pretty neat visual treats. Audio in the home theatre is phenomenal, it still manages to surprise (and scare me) in the fourth run. Masterful.
Cutscenes legitimately look pre-rendered, the hair system with that Sub surface scattering is just sublime. But also some reeeally inconsistent assets here and there, mostly in Raccoon City.

Imo, RE2R is still the most beatifully consistent game they've made, played with proper calibration by understanding the sliders it looks impeccable to me still. Like a pre-rendered visuals game, a feeling I didn't get as consistently with Requiem. Which is kind of understandable, being an order of magnitude bigger game.

My ranking probably goes like:

- RE 2R
- RE 9
- RE 7
- RE 3
- RE 8
I'm curious, where you'd put RE4R?

It's pretty cool that there are somewhat canonical reasons for enemies to not follow you into safe rooms in this game. Obviously there's The Girl and her aversion to light, but it also kind of makes sense that the zombies in the care center stick to their respective "posts". I think the devs must've seen all the memes and videos about Mr X not going into safe rooms in RE2.

On my third run and I am also very happy with how the game holds up on replays. The prison section with Grace somehow retains almost all of the tension it did the first time. Legitimately terrifying at times. Something about The Girl showing up gives me a visceral reaction and I can't seem to get desensitized to it.

I know Raccoon City is a bit decisive, but I think they really nailed the desolate "last man on earth" vibe. It's honestly pretty eerie. The combat scenarios are great here too imo. I love the gas station encounter especially.

Agreed on the orphanage needing a skip option on replays. It is definitely THAT part.

The part when soldiers come after Leon and in insanity difficulty it was pretty difficult and I didn't know how get through it but then I accidentally shot one of the test tubes on that area and suddenly Lickers came out of it start attacking the soldiers, I didn't know you could do that….it could have saved me lot of frustration.

I was doing the puzzle with the processor and of course a couple of the danglers grabbed me. One said "Where am I?" kind of felt bad for him lol. Another one said "Run!". Also, I left the chef alive for Leon. He says, "what are you chopping up with that, elephants?" Then a zombie started going into his second phase and he immediately goes, "It's one thing after another!" I love the reactive lines in this.

Platinumed Requiem last night, I couldn't get enough of it. Only criticism I've got despite thoroughly enjoying the game is wish it'd more actual gameplay sections for both Leon and Grace and less of trying to avoid being caught by little kid replicas with glowing red eyes just for the story to progress.

That part is so awful.. I beat it 3.5 times and each time I forgot it was there until I was suddenly playing it. Ugh 🤦‍♂️.
