No. That shit was aids.
Edit:
I will say a game that came out similar time I adored was Lawbreakers.
Haha yeah Cliffy B's Lawbreakers. Seems like he pulled that faster than Concord.

It's similar to board games. Can you explain this in simple terms.
I've probably watched about 8+ hours of Shroud play the game and hour 1 looked basically the same as hour 8 to me. Him going into a map picking up keycards to open certain rooms to tick boxes like "put thing A in thing B" then he gets out of the map with some loot and repeats the process.
I'm sure there's meaning to putting keycards in things and checking off missions, and perhaps that's not the part of depth you're talking about, and you're more meaning the nuance of gunplay and environment knowledge.
Oh I also saw a few other events where he needed to go into a sort of restricted zone, but again on a surface level it seemed like another quest to tick a box.
I'm not trying to downplay, but perhaps this is an area of weakness for Marathon where a casual observer isn't seeing what a 40+ hour player is because one piece of loot looks like any other.
BTW: Have a good rest of day discussing Marathon! I'm outta here rest of day. Heading out soon to meet people for dinner downtown and going the Leafs game.
For all the Marathon supporters.... were just having fun here talking numbers. No different than cheesing CCUs about Highguard, Dustborn or SW Outlaws etc....
If you enjoy the game, go for it. I like games nobody would give a shit about like old relics like Wayne Gretzky Hockey 2 on PC back in the day, and more recently Clover Pit. I'm going to start playing that Gamepass game Minishoot (whatever it's called), and I bought a game on Steam recently called Rogue Dungeon for $8. Who really cares.

A lot of people on NeoGAF like games like Astrobot (the Connect 4 equivalent). They're drawn to easily understood, easily accessible games that don't have the depth to hold your attention longer than a week or two. Fine in small doses, but they'll literally make you sick if you consume too much.
Then there are games like Twilight Imperium (the Marathon equivalent) that a complex monstrosities by comparison. Twilight Imperium is not fun the first few times you play it because all systems seem convoluted and needlessly complex. It's only after hour 10 or hour 20 that you see the systems jelling to create a more nuanced masterpiece.
If all you play is Connect 4, then Marathon will feel like a 6/10 game because you "judge it" during the cumbersome learning period. The usual suspects are trying downplay the importance of Marathon because they feel threatened by more involved, deeper games. They'll try to convince themselves that Marathon is proof the talent at Bungie is gone when the reality is that Marathon is likely their magnum opus.
That Outpost map, may actually be the greatest PvP map ever created, but even I didn't understand that sentiment the first 30 times I played on it. It took the 31st attempt to go "Wait a minute, something just clicked. I just learned 6% of the map and I now hear a chorus of angels."
Naw if you can't get into it at least a little bit within 5 hours it's probably not for you.Trust me bro, in 20 hours this gets real interesting

Yes, multiple billions while falling on every sales chart imaginable. Fell from 9th to 15th on Steam and fell from 16th to 24th on PSN, getting outsold by Toxic Commando, ffs. On a positive note, it's still the 74th most played game on Xbox, so there is hope! This dude said "multiple billions"![]()

He'll keep them on to make a shooter in the Horzion universe so his shit baby franchise can still have life after Hunters Gathering flops.U reckon hermen "the hitman" hulst will be patient enough to give bungie 5 more years of funding after such a flop like marathon? He had 0 scrupples with bluepoint and they actually launched very high quality game aka demons souls remaster
And keep in mind bungie will require tons more funding/upkeep cost vs much smaller tighter bluepoint and with destiny2 dwindling and huge loss on marathon they are strongly in the red already...

Guys, guys, don't worry, it not a race, it's a Marathon.

Even the worst disaster at some point tried to have the positive press moment like "our players already shoot 10 millions bullets! Thanks for loving the game so much!", but Marathon instead just had 400k people joining Discord lol?Scraping the bottom of the barrel here

Damn, we need a Discord user watch too. If they reach 500K, the comeback is possible.
Funny how the metrics went from copies sold to number of players to downloads and now we're at Discord numbers.Scraping the bottom of the barrel here

That's absolutely not true. Plenty of people loved games like BG3, KCD2, E33, and many many others. Hell, people like ARC Raiders which is a GaaS extraction shooter.Welcome to GAF, where the quality of all games is measured only by numbers, exclusivity or awards.

We are apparently on the last step after all the crazy puzzles and in/out of game events. We need to kill 2 million more uesc bots then it should open.
Ranked Saturday too.
Gonna be sick!

Whicha mean
Your mentioned games have a combined average score of over 90. What I meant is that here games in the lower or mid-80s are usually called Game Pass filler trash or just plain bad and anything below that is even worse. That's absolutely not true. Plenty of people loved games like BG3, KCD2, E33, and many many others. Hell, people like ARC Raiders which is a GaaS extraction shooter.
600 more is nothing to get yourself excited about, in no way shape or form are Sony happy with the numbers Marathon is getting, that's why Bungie need to start improving the game fast.Higher Steam CCU than yesterday? That's impossible
Maintenance caused it, same thing happened a week ago, will be be back to dropping.Higher Steam CCU than yesterday? That's impossible
Seems to be because the first content drop happened. (or the grind to it is now open) Barely moved the needle, quite literally.Higher Steam CCU than yesterday? That's impossible
Zero content dropped, just weekly QOL fixesSeems to be because the first content drop happened. (or the grind to it is now open) Barely moved the needle, quite literally.

You can't play the Cryo map, probably for another week. It is like saying you can play Crimson Desert because you downloaded it. No you can'tRead what I said again.

No shit sherlock. Hes saying more ppl logging in to get there (lvl up etc)You can't play the Cryo map, probably for another week
As I said in the first post, the grind to it is known and the map is (according to Bungie, take it up to them if you disagree lol) unlocked by the community playing the game. You can't play the Cryo map, probably for another week
