That and people use "Judge not, lest ye be judged" today as a "don't judge me" catch-all against judging when it simply saying judge people by the standards you judge yourself.

East Asia is a good example of this where conformity is enforced by excluding you from the society if you step out of line. It's form of collective bullying.

Is this surprising to anyone? What used to be shameful is now something you should be proud about. They teach kids in school that "love is love", that it's cool to be different and we as a society should never judge anyone for that. Add internet to the mix and now people with the weirdest fetishes will find others like them in digital communities where they normalize every depravity.
