From the 2023 Insominiac leak

Key Details of the Agreement & Future Plans:
  • Wolverine & X-Men Exclusivity: The agreement, lasting through 2035, grants Sony/Insomniac exclusive rights to develop X-Men console and PC games.
  • PC Ports (Nixxes Collaboration): While the games are exclusive to PlayStation at launch, they are expected to arrive on PC later, often in collaboration with Nixxes Software. Marvel's Spider-Man 2 is scheduled for a PC release on January 30, 2025.
  • Continued Partnership: Marvel Games has stated they will work with Insomniac for "many years to come," with projects stretching toward the late 2020s and early 2030s.
  • Upcoming Projects: Following the success of the Spider-Man series, Insomniac is developing Marvel's Wolverine (expected 2026) and has further X-Men projects planned.
  • Limitations on Others: Under the agreement, Marvel cannot announce other X-Men games from other publishers for consoles or PC during the contract term, though X-Men characters can appear in broader, "multi-family" Marvel games.

No game is exclusive forever. Eventually everything becomes emulated for example. Wolverine PC in 2035 is what your hoping for here?? lol

Well, technically speaking Sony never officially said anything about stopping PC ports, and even Jason's own sources said that might not be a definitive decision. Time will tell.

Either way, Wolverine isn't something i'd play or get excited about.

I also think we eventually get a Ghost of Yotei PC release as I know it was fairly far along, but we have reports saying they are backing off PC ports so likely I am wrong (or is Jason wrong)

After helping a gay couple go to the school dance together or tagging walls as a deaf girl were mission objectives in Spider-man 2…. I still don't care. I'm not buying anything from Insomniac again.

PC Gang keeps winning either way. Fuck the blue pidgeons, play your Last of Fapping 3 and Gay of War: Ragnafuck without me.

/s

Now, this would have been my actual reply if I was a closeted lesbian fanboy for one platform. However, I think Cuckverine and Cocks of Yaoi, will eventually make it to PC.

I mean Microsoft was able to pay money to Disney so they can cancel Indiana Jones on PS5.

So I don't understand why Sony can't do that? It isn't like the fee will be super-high either considering how underwhelming the sales have been on PC too.

You forgot Cumturnal, Gay Orgy 7 and Sexman

Well, I don't know how much of this change about porting for pc is true or not. But even if it is...playing games with psplus still exist, and I doubt Sony will stop to add games to its catalogue. So...who knows?

Anyway...I personally would prefer to see native ports of Japan Studios games than this one...and I think this will be unlikely.

If the strategy has indeed changed which it sure sounds like it has Wolverine still has a good chance purely because it's a Marvel product.

MLB The Show won't be example and if Marvel says Sony needs to keep it multiplat it will get a PC port.

I'd say it's still likely.

Emulation isn't the same thing.

Nintendo didn't go third party because you stole their rom of SMW in the 90s.

Considering the potential and significant price increase of the PS6, Sony will do their best to protect the value of their hardware and especially the platform as a whole. I so them backing off completely from PC ports in the future.

What I mean to say is that eventually any game becomes easily accessible. So in reality TIMED exclusivity is all that matters. Unless its a short wait of course. But thats just my opinion i guess

Yeah imagine the ps6 version in 2027 and here is the pc version which is even more gorgeous as our new shiny expensive hardware.

Jason flooded the mainstream channel saying Sony PC strategy is basically over outside gaas (including games far in the porting process like goy) ... and Sony or any of its affected studios said nothing, and they just raised their Playstation prices dangerously close to PC counterparts.

So..... at this point is pure copium and port bagging

Jason Schreier broke the brains of every pcfat with one article.
Sony hasn't said anything officially on PC ports.
and they won't. They aren't going to go out and announce that they aren't making a game or port. Companies just don't do that normally.

Maybe if someone asks them on an investor call or something.

Schreier already more or less said that the terms of that deal had been modified with Wolverine no longer coming to PC, same way Microsoft initially canned the PlayStation 5 version of Indiana Jones that was in development at Bethesda prior to the acquisition.

This could be an exception in that Sony is licensing the IP. So similar to MLB, if Marvel goes to Sony and demand that they release the game on PC, Sony likely has to to oblige.

People act like these contracts are written on stone tablets and put in front of the temple like in Ancient Greece. No, Sony can call up Marvel and they can revise the agreement.

Sony hasn't said anything officially on PC ports.
They never officially said all of their games would come to PC to begin with. It was always "case by case".

So "officially" nothing is actually changing, and there won't be anything for Sony to clarify even in an investor meeting.

I've never known the PC master race to display such weakness. You hope it will eventually be on PC.

Hope is a thing with feathers. That perches on a PC gamers soul. And never has wolverine at all.

Never hope. Know. Understand. Believe. Don't hope. Son I am dissapoint.

Meanwhile this is my Playstation 5 Pro dust protector badge:

There is small %age wolverine gets ported to pc down the line, but it wont be anytime soon, 15th sept 2026 on ps6, then likely holidays 2027 ps6 up-port, then maybe sometime in 2028 or even 2029 pc port of that ps6 version...

We have no idea what's in Sony's contract with Marvel, but maybe it'll show up in like 15 years through emulation. Because according to the most solid sources, the PS-to-PC pipeline is basically shut off, if you want to play PlayStation single-player games, you're gonna need this
