007 First Light Gameplay Deep Dive Trailer

Its likely gonna be only uncharted game we getting till late into ps6 gen, so hoping its at least solid 8/10, actual 8/10 not reviewers brownie points 8/10.

For everyone wishing they skipped the 'uncharted' parts... You guys realize that those epic action set pieces were kind of the backbone of the bond films right? Without them it would just be a guy drinking and hitting on women.

Looks like good fun,I have a feeling its going to be really short though. Like maybe 10-12 hours?
Still May is looking good for me with directive 8020 and then 007 at the end of May.

I don't know. I just cannot see this game getting scores over 7. It looks so average (if that) at everything. Still I wish it will be success. We will see. Maybe I will be pleasantly surprised.

Long time 007 fan but I'm a bit iffy on this one.

The combat and action sequences look good but I'm not really interested in stealth, so hopefully there either isn't too much of it or it's not forced.

This needs to be more Bond and less Agent 47.

Bond looks like a (bad) baddie. Gustav Graves.

Making a point of it being an IO game so.. there's going to be more content later! Isn't a positive to me.

It cant be "average"...because I dont really know any other game doing that kind of gameplay (except Hitman ofc). Either you like it or you dont. 🤷‍♂️

Much better showing than the previous trailers. Though that could be down to the choice of cuts as there was almost nothing of the linear action sequences they previously showed.

Still, I found myself getting excited for a new Hitman as I saw some of the updates, and not really for a Bond game. Though there's certainly some stuff in there that doesn't fit the Hitman vibe.

This has raised my interest as it has given the impression of a less linear experience, and if they can deliver the kind of level work and versatility shown in the Hitman games then I might be a willing customer.

Hopefully, it's not a 5h single player game.
Yeah, this was always my biggest gripe with Hitman3 (and having lots of online only stuff). If you play the whole trilogy at once its a super fantastic game...but each episode alone felt always rather short. On the other side...a huge part of the game is re-playing a scenario in complete different ways.

Like...something happened. Forbidden West was worse to me from a gameplay and narrative point of view than its predecessor.
Hmm, definitely don't agree with you there, gameplay is vastly superior to me in pretty much every aspect, how do you feel it's worse?.
Story is subjective, but I didn't have an issue with it, but the facial animations all around are much improved which helps also with the storytelling.
Forbidden West in general, for me, is easily the superior game.

Love the Hitman games even if I find the gunplay kinda meh. Hoping they've given their controls a makeover to make them more Uncharted like.

I just hope it doesn't end up being Hitman Absolution 2, with several boring action levels of going from point A to B and just a few classic Hitman player agency levels, IO simply has never been good at Action games.

But If it's like the Hitman reboot with added action setpieces for certain routes the player chooses, then they are about to cook every other 007 game in existence, even Goldeneye.

& yet another 'will eventually get on sale' triple-a title for me. i can count the number of day 1 titles i've gotten this gen on one hand (&, yes, i still have my pinkie)...

I love the Hitman games so if this plays like Hitman but with a little more action and setpieces (and more cutscenes) I'm definitely in!
But maybe I'm blind but after this trailer, you still can't say anything about the technical state of the game. Does it run smoothly without stutter? Is there a quality and a performance mode? 30fps? 60fps? What about PS5 Pro features?

The climbing alone somehow they made it worse than the first game. And it suffered from the good old "let's add more of everything, that will make it a better game" and it just didn't work. In terms of weapons, gadgets etc.

sorry but those car chases look tragic. I'm getting bargain bin racing sim vibes from them clunky ass mechanics

Eh, I disagree but that's just my opinion, I do agree the climbing still isn't good, that's something they definitely need to look at in the next game, but it became almost irrelevant due to flying mounts anyway later in the game, so if you start with flying mounts in the next game then they don't really need it so much, still, would be better if they improved it. And I much prefer the weapons in FW.

One error and you have to start over or be okay with just saying fuck it
I wouldn't say that really, you can basically save at any point multiple times during a run of a level, the whole point of it is really to play the same level multiple times and gain "mastery" of the whole scenario.

I agree they can seem pretty hardcore and overwhelming but the mechanics are actually quite simple, a lot of it depends on timing etc. but you can simply reload saves and try again and then complete the whole level to gain XP that gives you permanent upgrades to use in other levels.

I really do love these games but I am a hypocrite as 3 is still on my backlog to complete 🙈

This looks cool for sure, a mix of hitman and uncharted. Let's hope they can pull off the big set pieces.

My issue with the Hitman games has always been the lack of a narrative hook. The mission stories were... something, but they made the game too easy if you followed that path. And the highest difficulty disabled mission story discovery altogether, so it felt like I was stumbling through the game with no sense of what random NPC out there would open up an interesting way to play within the sandbox. Just couldn't find a sweet spot and the game started feeling a bit aimless and repetitive, despite a whole host of gameplay options. It was very "make your own fun", which isn't really up my alley.

I feel like a bond story would fix all of that for me. Fleshed out side characters, objectives that are beyond "take down X roaming around location Y and leave without a trace"... and a narrative hook. So far, everything I see is ticking those boxes. Hitman + Uncharted indeed!

You're way hardcore than me then lol! I think I only ever played on "professional" and that allows you unlimited saves, the highest difficulty where you have to be perfect for the whole run….i definitely don't have the skills for that!

Agree this looks like a blast, I hope it sells well.

Nah I'm not that good. As long as I'm hooked, I just like being tortured with difficulty and failing a 100 times :messenger_tears_of_joy:

I mean this demo confirmed that Hitman 3 was their groundwork for bond. Hell, if you want the best Bond >>stealth<< simulator - it exist. If you want a bond experience this seems to be that (car chases, improvised fights, social stealth) eidos seems to have gotten thay right.

I was on the fence with this game, but I think this trailer has sold me. Looks like a great mix of Hitman, Uncharted, and what the cancelled Perfect Dark game should've been.

From an action point of view. I expected the people at IO to make good looking combat. I never got into that seasonal pass episodic Hitman game. I always heard nothing but praise.
