Did you?

I know I did. I was a pure PS Fanboy until I discovered Steam. PS4 was my last, but my niece has one so I'd just borrow sometimes to play Astrobot.

Why did you choose to skip console this gen? Mostly its because I don't have to pay for PSN or Xbox Live. And the regional stores being abysmal for consoles.

Not me. I still enjoy playing on PlayStation. Game rentals, being able to buy physical copies, and to me PlayStation's trophies are just more satisfying than other achievement systems.

When physical copies are no longer available on consoles, I'll think twice about getting ripped off by Valve and using a crappy license I don't even own.

In the meantime, I'll stick with consoles.

I guess I kind of did? I still got a PS5 but only played like 3-4 games on it.

I still haven't bought a Switch 2 but will soon.

Bought a PS5 and XSX at launch but ended up selling them years ago. I have a Switch 2 that I use pretty regularly alongside my PC.

Does your butthole get sore everytime big daddy Sony comes every month to ram it's monthly subscription fee up your ass to play your games online?

Erm... For the price of a McDonald's meal a month I also get the occasional decent game and get to check out games I would never think of purchasing but have enjoyed immensely, I personally think it's value for money

I didn't. But I play >90% of single-player games on PC now.

I bought a PS5 around launch. I've been wildly disappointed with Sony's single-player offerings.

If my friends weren't on PS5, and we didn't play together, I'd look at my PS5 like someone looks at a mule who won't pull his weight.

Does your bunghole sting after bending over to get taken for a ride by Valve? Gog gives you more. But steam players hate goggin.
I get releases on GOG when I can but big publishers rarely release on the storefront. Even indie ones tend to delay GOG releases. Even more strangely the releases often lack latest updates.

Gog has games i can install on xp still. Steam is just pc prison except people enjoy their chains. I bounced from pc gaming around the time steam came out because I could no longer own shit.

Most games need a patch or online connection to run nowadays so having a physical DRM verifier seems like a moot point.

I didn't bother with any console since PS3. I picked that up for a handful of allegedly good exclusives and thought they were mostly mid.

Consoles used to be a value add. PS2 was my DVD player. PS3 was a Blu-Ray and overall media wizard. Now consoles are more expensive than ever and want you to pay a monthly fee, while giving you less than ever. The right PC build can be the digital media swiss army knife for your whole house with a day of clever networking.

I didn't, but this was the last time I buy a console without some personal must-play exclusives being released.

Between my PC and retro machines I have enough games to keep me entertained well past my expiration date. 🎮🪦

I'm going to explain it to you and to those who still haven't figured out why I don't want to touch a PC or any digital store.

First of all, I need to buy the physical copy of the game I want to enjoy on PlayStation:

In this case, Yotei for €50

Once I have a wonderful jewel, I enjoy it to the fullest.

And once the game is finished, it is put on sale, recovering part of the investment.

Imagine paying €8 for Ghost of Yotei.

Of course, I do this with every physical PlayStation 5 game.

With this example, I want to make it clear that I don't want to get ripped off on Steam.

So you rented a game with a bunch of extra steps and legwork.

So you knowingly buy crap and want to recoup the cost of admission...

P.S. You can just pirate or demo on PC without any upfront cost and buy a copy to support the talent. GameFly rentals are also a thing for console.

While I've always bought all the consoles eventually, and play on PC, I've kind of shifted in the opposite direction. UE's performance is such a fucking buzzkill on PC that more and more games I'd ordinarily play on there as opposed to consoles, I've just been playing on consoles instead. Not always, but the performance can often be more consistent, which I appreciate.

It's a little ironic that that's the case, because this is probably the first gen where, purely from an exclusives standpoint, you'd think it'd be by far the easiest gen to focus entirely on PC.

I didn't since I'm not in to PC gaming.

I might not be happy with Sony's first party output this gen but I still use my PS5 to play great games from 3rd party.

And I also own Switch 2 for Nintendo games….for PS5 and Switch 2 all I need to get 90% games I want.

But based on this post you don't own your physical games either... :lollipop_crying:

Are you a FreeBSD user? I've never met one, but that's what came to mind when reading your replies.

Since 2020. My exception is Nintendo because they are a gem and Switch 2 is incredible good. But I'm never going back to consoles from MS or Sony.

I gave up on consoles during the PS3 era and went PC. Happened after my buddies FORCED me to install Steam to play Battlefield Bad Company 2 (the bastards!)
I did buy a used PS4 and Bloodborne, but that was such a pain to play, I'm not counting it.
I'm not even sure how to turn on a PS4.

Of course...

If I don't collect the games, what's the point?

Just to gather dust?
Man, you claimed to buy games super cheap and that because of that PC is a scam.

I can play all the games I've ever bought on Steam. Can you play Yotei?

I've already played Yotei, and I have no intention of completing another single-player game 100%, especially with so many other games still waiting to be played.

Now I ask you:

Can you sell all the junk you have on Steam, some of which you haven't even finished or don't even play?
