No Acolyte Season Two

Show cost $230M US, not $180M. The 180 thrown around was UK pounds. Converted to USD it's $230M. lol

... it cost more than Dune Part 2, one the best looking movies ever made, and easily one of the best science fiction films of all time? Walt's rolling in his grave/cryogenic cylinder.

No wonder they cancelled this so fast lol

I find it insane that the showrunner can just stumble into another prestige project mere days straight after one of the biggest TV/IP/Disney disasters in recent years, maybe even all time.

I've never had that experience once in my life, Where's all my cishet straight male privilege I'm meant to apparently have

Surprise surprise. Money laundry.

Actually it seems it's over 300M $ now. :messenger_astonished:

Cringe levels rose rapidly to unwatchable levels, I could not make it past the first two episodes.

Even the concept of white fragility, which is kind of a
Let me introduce you to another novel theory.

If you have a certain skin color - that makes you a Hitler.
If you admit, you are a Hitler, it makes you a bit lesser a Hitler.
If you deny you are a Hitler, that proves you are a Hitler of the worst kind.

Now, citizen, communicate your skin color and choose if you admit and regret your Hitlerness.

How can people look at these numbers and still be surprised when you see the same cost inflation for shoddy garbage in videogames, like Concord.

I'm finally watching this. OMG it's so bad and very dull. I'm only up to episode three. I'm going to finish it just because I want to see where this goes by hopefully this means it has almost zero impact on important events.

Like seriously, who greenlit this crap?

Didn't you just make a thread about how you were done with Star Wars?

The only good thing about the series is the lightsaber fights. They're fast, fluid and very much like the PT, clone wars etc.

That's it.

It's a shame because the High Republic era was a blank slate (it kinds still is) and they just ballsed it up from the get go.

I really think Disney need to put this timeline on hold and move onto the Old Republic.

Not if this is an example of how they would handle it.

Kennedy has now left, so I'm optimistic about the future.

Star Wars Starfighter sounds like it might pull be back in (Tom Cruise apparently filmed a lightsaber duel scene that takes place in a bog)

Eh, we'll see. Lightsaber fights implied that there are MORE Jedi in this film, so either it's set in the clone wars timeframe or there is yet ANOTHER jedi hiding out in plain sight?

Hmmmm, wiki tells me Starfighter is set 5 years AFTER Rise of Skywalker, so any lightsaber users are either Knights of Ren (which is probably the best remnant of the ST to try to salvage), homegrown force users, new students of Rey(?), or secret jedi. I doubt this film will 'normalize' lightsabers to just be a tool for anyone.

Seems like as soon as she left, the general attitude towards Star Wars from Disney has been to forget everything she made and just remember all the old stuff, lol.

I suspect they wanted her gone since the beginning but were scared of the can of woke worms that would open since it would give the chuds basically an omega victory over an accomplished but obviously incompetent and in over her head feminist.

"The Force if Female"

Narrator: It wasn't. The force is literally an invisible peter you use to whip stuff around.

Rumors are (I know, I know) Starfighter connects to/affirms the Sequel Trilogy. As of right now, I'm out in regards to anything Disney Star Wars.

Yes, Star Fighter is set five years after the shit we call Rise of Skywalker.

Maybe - and hear me out here - Ryan Gosling is playing Kyle Katarn?

That would be MarO Jade, sir.

I'll wait for reviews, and still will probably only catch it on streaming. If that. (For reference, I saw Star Wars in the theater in 1977. I collect too much of the crap that's made. I'm a Star Wars fan. That said, what I've seen lately isn't Star Wars. Now get off my lawn, I have a cloud to yell at.)
