The Lakers got swept and the team i was rooting for won.

Damn i'm so salty.

And Utar had NOTHING to do with any of that.

And Paul Milsap is the future of your franchise, coached by Tyrone Corbin.

Yep, no way you're salty.

The weirdest part of the playoffs was Jason Terry looking down his shorts and discovering his testicles.
The Portland series made men out of Dallas.

Congrats Brandi. Great post.

But I have 2 serious questions.

1. If the Portland/Roy comeback game never happens, do the Mavs win it all?

2. What will future Branduil be like? He has his title. He can't complain about Dirk not having teammates or Stern never letting his team win. Is this what dividing by zero is like?

See, some of us are actually fans of basketball. Some of us aren't entitled children.

We don't go bitch-mode when our teams arent in it anymore and pretend to not care.

real talk: Portland was the toughest team the mavs played

Jason Terry said Portland was the toughest series?

That is some Inception level trolling.

See what the fuck. I was partly joking about that a couple of weeks ago, but now I'm starting to believe my own trolls.

And in hindsight the Portland meltdown was the greatest thing to happen to the team.

I remember listening to the ticket for Game 5 where they stated "this is a franchise altering game" and they were so right. That was the start of an epic run.

It's funny, going into the playoffs all i wanted was to not be bounced in the first round. Never dreamed we'd have another chance to win a title. And to go through LA and beat the retooled nemesis from '06? Sports is better than fiction sometimes.

SALT

SALTIER

When can I expect "SALTIEST"?

I honestly didn't care (meaning I wouldn't have lost sleep over who chipped in this Finals) but seeing the Bulls Triple Ls ran outta here and now the Heat Triple Ls run outta here is great.

BEST GAF can get back to being BEST GAF.

I watched the game at buafflo wild wings. It was amazing how many Mavs fans were in the building. 97% of the crowd was rooting for the Mavs. There was only like 5 guys in the entire building rooting for the Heat.

Dirk, Kidd, JET, and Marion all deserve this ring. I'm so happy for them.

They understood at that point that no lead is safe: neither their's nor their opponent's. That made them never wanting to relinquish a lead and never believing that they couldn't overcome one.

And the Lakers were the softest. At least Pau was. He's 0-8 versus Dirk in the playoffs now.

I don't think we'll ever see another serious "Dirk or Pau?" thread on realGM again.

Dirk went through Kobe (lol Gasol), Durant (lol dumbrook), and Wade (lol James). This is gotta be one of the most impressie championship run in recent history.

And before that Dirk or KG. Man that one got tired fast. Sorry, Dirk is and has always been > KG

+1 to the Portland was the toughest series for the Mavs.

I've been pretty big on the blazers for a while though. If healthy they are contenders, I wouldn't be surprised if they end up in the finals next time there is a NBA season.

Prime KG > Prime Dirk.

Not that that's any knock on Dirk, but how quickly we forget how insanely good prime KG was.

lol Brandy, let it out, let it all out baby.

prime KG can't hit clutch shots for shit.

Miami radio has the crazies out now, I just assume everyone is drunk. One caller said "we need to get Dwight Howard and we will be alright" The hosts asked who do we give up to get Howard, the caller says Eddie House and others, none of the big three. He got hung up on after that.

That's a pretty giant if when it comes to the Blazers. Roy will never be the same player again.

He wouldn't have needed to do so if he was on an actual team. Or maybe he would have if he didn't have to do everything else for them all game long.

so good dirk shit all over him in a first round sweep

Who were KG's teammates, again?

Dirk is a better #1 option, KG is better if you have a star wing to carry the offense. KG's offensive impact is overrated, especially in the postseason.

KG was pretty good, but he was never as good of a scorer as Dirk was this year.

definitely if you're talking all around game. KG was an all-world defender and a pretty good offensive player. dirk is an all-world offensive player and pretty average on defense..... even mediocre at times in this series in regards to his pick and roll D.

Yeah maybe if Dirk was matched up against those guys. Dirk was great but I have never seen a star player win the title going through as weak a group of individual matchups on both ends than Dirk.

I mean, who was a real scoring threat besides Aldridge? Pau was utter garabge and Bosh didn't get the ball enough. Honestly Memphis would have given the Mavs more trouble than anyone they played this postseason.

Also, with the shooters they have, you could never double him. Just a well built and coached team. Kudos for the achievement but don't act like Dirk was dominating these guys. They all had flawed teams which the Mavs exploited

on paper were they really that much worse than JJ Barea, Brendan Haywood, a rotting corpse of Jason Kidd and Jason Terry? For the most part they've both had to carry bums for most of their career, Dirk just had more success.

Konex...stop trying to defend Kobe when he needs no defending.

I think I need to have a Jason Kidd avatar until (a) the season starts or (b) there is a new NBA champion.

The amazing thing (credit the ticket for helping form this point) about Dirk's game is he got better after 30. He developed the low post game that Mav fans begged for years. His passing is so much more improved from '06. And that killer instinct was formed in the last several years. Most are what they are when they hit that age. Dirk actually never has been better than now. Amazing

Did this really just come from someone whose team hired Mike Brown.

Oh man.. alright i'll lay off you for a while.

We knew Phil was leaving at the start of the season.

Only Deron knew Sloan was leaving.

And Mike Brown isn't TYRONE FUCKING CORBIN
