I tried to show him My Little Pony but he just didn't believe I was serious. And I don't feel embarrassed, I just feel bad for him. I mean to be so closed minded even when an adult.

And that's what I think of people here, just a bunch of Randys. They see our admiration for the show with our gifs, avatars, and memes and they just stick up their noses and ignore. But deep down I feel that they wish that they could be unchained enough to admire something that others despise.

1) Who is forcing anything on anyone? Posting of pony gifs or images is no more forcing MLP on you than anyone else posting an image from a game or movie. So i think you are delusional. If you dont want to watch it then so be it. No one here has a gun to your head and saying WATCH PONIES OR DIE! If you watch it and enjoy it then sweet, Welcome tot he Herd! If you watch it and dont enjoy it then oh well.

2) It was designed specifically to be a show for children that their parents could also watch. It has succeed in that and gone beyond.

Even if he is deadly serious, pointing at him as the representative of the entire MLP community is kind of like saying that one gamer who tells everybody else how shit they are at CoD and challenges 4-year-olds in Gamespots to battles is representative of the entire gaming community.
 
So is Lauren Faust still working on this show? I'd like to see her move onto something else, especially since it seems like McCracken's not doing much these days in the way of animation since he left CN.

She left at the end of season 1. She has another project in the works currently.

Point taken. I have not personally had MLP pushed on me by a friend. As an outsider, it seems like a very "us vs. them" mentality. I can see why it makes such an easy target, with the bright colors and ponies, etc.

You have put it into perspective for me. I am a CoD fan who resents the "lol dudebro" stereotype. After reading a lot of posts today after the MW3 event, I realize it's pretty much hopeless trying to convince people otherwise.

In closing, I still think MLP is silly, but moreso I'm just getting tired of reading the forum wars that result from it.

Just that likening a fanbase being picked on for liking a show on a message board to racism is both inherently retarded and grossly insulting to people who do suffer from legitimate racial prejudice IRL who have just had their plights and struggles compared to My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic fans.
