No front facing camera, if that's something you think you would like to have.

Come on. That report is off the mark.
Why would Amazon be hiring people for Android in the past year and have an Android market place that gives a free Android app every day?

Highly doubt it as well. But those reasons are fairly solid. If Microsoft wanted to really kickstart things from their market position, having Amazon in your corner would be a good move. Highly unlikely still.D4Danger said:I doubt the rumour is true but I could think of some reason why they'd consider it
1) patent costs
2) cheaper hardware (Windows Phone 7 is a beast on, let's face it, outdated hardware)
3) money hats

Combining Amazon's and Microsoft's cloud expertise wouldn't be a shabby move either.Chittagong said:If Amazon was the iTunes of WP that'd be pretty amazing. Books, movies, films and cross platform too.
No need to work on an app when the services are being worked into Apollothirty said:there isn't even an amazon cloud music app for windows phone.

Amazon would be a nice partner. Killer services.

It's not that crazy, part of me doesn't mind the Fire's interface because it's basically devoid of the hideous Android design. But another part of me wants to replace the OS with an imaginary version of WP7 with Amazon goodies in it.Firestorm said:Yet they just spent a ton of time and money making an Android variant for tablets?
Complex Shadow said:Can we let this rumor die. We know it's not gonna happen. Amazon has spent too much time with droid. I doubt they would do both operating systems. And I doubt even more they would go straight to wp7 and phase out droid.

Looks like AT&T will be selling WP7 devices for $0.01 next week, if you want to double up on promotions.JaggedSac said:MS is giving $25 to new WP purchasers from now until the end of 2011.
Probably just IE being IE, not sure if more RAM would help.PG2G said:The browser could use it, you should check the benchmarks compared to iOS and Android for JavaScript and rendering. It's pretty bad
What the fuuuuu I might have to take my phone back and get a Titan/Focus S. I find it hard to believe they are going to offer two brand new $200 phones that just got released for a penny though. There has to be some sort of catch, like requiring a new contract and not an upgrade.venne said:Looks like AT&T will be selling WP7 devices for $0.01 next week, if you want to double up on promotions.
Not sure if it includes the Titan or Focus S.

But I thought there was already supposed to be a $25 credit for apps when I got my phone, forgot about it when I bought it and the guy at the AT&T store never mentioned it.
Neogaf is back, and so am I. Feels good, that ban felt WAY too long.
It's their black Friday sale (which goes on that entire weekend). The WP7 deal is the Saturday. I'm considering returning my Focus S and re-purchasing it (or the Titan) on that day. The problem is that deal seems to be online-only (so I have to wait for the phone). It will definitely cover the Titan and Focus S though, so its a fantastic deal.
Got the replacement unit today. Perfecccccct.
It's a demo unit from Dell.

What's wrong with the Focus S?
Does that mean I can buy it and us it on a Verizon in the US?
Ah, no. It's GSM and not CDMA. And this seems to be the version for T-Mobile.

All Windows 7 and select Android devices, for just $.01
I was able to snag a HTC HD7 locally today. Man oh man, what a sleek phone. Didn't realize how big the screen was!
The great thing about that phone is, in addition to being sleek on the outside, it's also Microsoft inside.
The keyboard lag is simple to fix, you just disable keyboard sounds. The camera, however, is another story. The frustrating thing is that it definitely shows promise, I've taken some stunning shots, but you have to really work hard for great shots, and even daylight shots get washed out with too much sunlight or crush the shadows. It's annoying, and I KNOW its software, but with no word from Samsung on that (or the keyboard issue) I can't be guaranteed a fix, so I'm heavily considering the Titan.
Here are some examples:
This is a daylight shot I took today, look at how much problems the camera has with the concrete fence on the left. SAMPLE 1 This is not uncommon, its actually the norm with this camera. I can put some work into it and come up with a much better shot that addresses the crazy bloom, but I shouldn't have to. Its a perfectly sunny day, and the camera simply cannot capture the sunlight and the shadows correctly. If I move the camera to the left just a few inches, the concrete is captured correctly, but the shadows get crushed and the grass loses all detail.
SAMPLE 2. This is a macro shot of baklava. You can see how good the sensor is in capturing detail. It's just frustrating that good shots take effort and MOST shots just aren't high quality as they should be.
Maybe I don't know what to expect out of a phone camera, but it seems like you're probably expecting too much. The camera is focused on the grass in the shade, most lower end digital cameras would probably struggle with a shot like that.
One cent for a Titan next Saturday? Awesome!
Whatsapp is amazing!
But so sloooooow.
They need to update it faster.
Slowness in what matter? I haven't noticed any slowness beside attaching pictures maybe. Everything else seems smooth to me. I didn't use it on iOS or Android... That may be why.
