That's just, like, your opinion man.Game just wasn't that good, bro
Mine too, I think. Hard to say so soon after it came out, but it's certainly in the same league as UC2.
I think it's probably not focused on combat. It could be focused on trapping zombies in the environment, using the environment against them, working together to defeat them...I mean it's obviously not going to be like Resident Evil with the stupid downward stabbing knife.

PS4 = 2014 or later
Is Joel voiced by Troy Baker? Kinda sounded like it to me.

They had me at Naughty Dog.
Well the trailer said its running on PS3...
Makes me wonder if Naughty Dog is breaking its one IP a gen rule![]()
Amy HennigWho did U1?
Ashley Johnson is the voice of Ellie. Judging by the caption and photo in her twitter stream, I'm guessing that Joel is voiced by either Yuri Lowenthal or Greg Cipes.
Shit, you just gave me the idea of how awesome a big budget, old gothic vampire game from ND would be.
I've been saying 2015 for years and I've been called crazy. People forget that the console isn't even sub 200 dollars yet. They've also still got their big devs working on big games for the system. Some games haven't even been shown like Quantic Dream's new game, Guerilla's new IP, and Santa Monica's new game.

I know Lowenthal's voice - it isn't him. Just looked up a clip of Cipes. His voice is much too high. If anything, looks like these two might be playing fellow teenagers.
Edit: if that pic is involved with The Last of Us at all.
ThanksAmy Hennig
Incredible potential with this premise, thank god it's Naughty Dog tackling it
Oh shit, I hadn't even thought of stealth lol. I really hope there are some stealth elements to the game. The way they handled it in UC2/3 shows a lot of potential.
Once again I must state how similar The Last of Us is to the Toho movie Matango. It can't just be coincidence. Someone at Naughty Dog must like that movie.
Well... not if you fail. Then you get straight-up shooter.
Stealth was always just an option in UC and you really only get one shot at it before it devolves into shooting mobs.
I don't think ND has demonstrated a type of stealth gameplay that fits this premise. They would have to do things a bit differently, I think, if they wanted to retain tension. Especially if stealth was something they were trying to compel on the player through limited ammo or whatever. Uncharted stealth wouldn't work in that case. And allowing players to just mow down mobs means you lessen the necessity of stealth.
It's kind of tricky... I love seeing how devs tackle these problems. Generally you get very traditional answers, but sometimes there's a neat solution in there.
Someone clearly hasn't played Amnesia.I am hyped through the roof if this is a legitimate survival horror game. That genre has sorely been missed this generation outside of Siren. Opportunity missed by many, many devs.
That was a pretty cool trailer, but holy christ the last shred of Geoff's credibility is down the drain in my eyes. Yeah, I sure can't fucking believe Naughty Dog showed off an in-engine cutscene that looks pretty great. That is definitely a PS3 exclusive I cannot BELIEVE.
Sounds fucking trill as fuckkkk. Im on my phone though.. Is there a youtube link???!

It doesn't have to be gun centric.
I think it is important to mention that Sony and Naughty Dog never specifically stated that there were "horror" elements in the press release. They only mention "survival" and "action."
I think the "horror" element will stem from the survival element. I expect a lot of running, hiding and constantly moving from place to place while be chased to be a common element of the game. Not so much direct "horror" that is sell-able as opposed to indirect horror built through extreme tension and suspense. Personally, I want that more than the direct "use loud noises and jump out scares" type of horror.
I sense that the survival and action elements will be using the devices you have to the best of your ability. Remember, "action" doesn't necessarily mean shooting guns and blowing stuff up. A lot of running, jumping, evading and external stuff like seeing other people get attacked or a mass of mutant infected things clamoring around a chain link fence looking to get at a family or something could all be considered "action." I think we'll see a lot of extremely emotional set pieces. I don't know, like a daughter trying to wake up her dead father, only to have a bunch of those things run up and kill her. I don't know, a bunch of shocking, emotionally tough scenes to really drive home the survival portion of the game.
There will most certainly be guns, knives and fighting, but something tells me that it won't be a huge, main part of the game. Maybe because the creatures you are fighting will have strength in numbers and you won't have the equipment to fight all of them off, you'll have to choose when you want to use what you have at the potential of having nothing in the future.
With Naughty Dog's ability to tell a story and make the player have an emotional connection, I think this game will be the game that the Dead Island trailer wanted to be.
Basically, I trust Naughty Dog more than other developer in the world to be able to nail "The Road" in video game form.
In other words, this is what Resident Evil 5 (and likely Resident Evil 6) should have been.
