Hopefully most of the issues will be fixed by launch.

Fixed it for you.

I have trust in Blizz to get it right too... but what happens when they inevitably sell more then they were expecting and have server issues on launch day anyway?

Happens to everyone.

Predicting the game gets delayed even longer to ensure server stability at launch.

I don't understand why they can't just be happy with authenticate at start up and then play offline... gotta be less stress on the servers and you don't need to worry about being booted out of your single player game.

The point is to get people online and using the RMAH. They make money off every transaction. Constant source of income over long periods of time is worth more to them than having to deal with server instability and long development times.

I have all these games I can play, some I haven't even finished and I still just want to play this beta. Long story short, I reeeeeaaaallllly hate you guys.

Hopefully their more concerned about putting out the best quality product they can. Hasn't that always been their thing? It's done when it's done and all that?

RMAH doesn't need you to be online at all times, just when your are browsing the AH.

Server issues keeping you from playing multiplayer, messaging friends, and browsing the auction house sucks... but it wouldn't suck as much as not being able to play at all.

I keep getting booted out, sigh.

Heh same here, tried to enter Leah's room, got a message about downloading additional content...and then I realized the game was probably stuck via server crash.

EDIT: Is there some sort of GAF Battle.net RealID friend list?

Got a invite today, haven't been able to log in tough. I keep getting the same error.

Cain has that shit on lockdown. That's why you got booted.

Ran through the beta last night, and its god damm diablo. Such satisfying spells/ hit detection, really happy with how the game is developing. Graphically, as mentioned, its not the best but classic blizzard art more then makes up for it :)

I keep seeing these complaints and fail to understand the reasoning. IMO the game looks freaking amazing for something that is designed to run on a wide array of machines.

You put a qualifier in your bloody statement and you can't understand the complaints?

Starcraft 2 looks great and it doesn't look great "for something that is designed to run on a wide array of machines" and yet it runs on a wide array of machines.

Also I'm not a fan of the cartoonish proportions of many things.

Sure, but that caveat is doing a lot of work. It's still not nearly as pretty on my PC as the vast majority of non-indie games I've bought in the last two years. I don't really care if this allows someone to run it on a four year old laptop.

I don't have a problem with how it looks - I think it gets the job done and isn't offensive - but it could certainly stand to be prettier.

Edit: And obviously they could have put more effort into different graphics settings. Keep the settings they've got now but add an "Ultra" which takes advantage of more modern hardware and people wouldn't be complaining.

I think its mainly models, and ground textures that need work. When I see a large texture blotch of yellow that is supposed to be grass, I can't help but cringe. I'm not expecting tessellation and advanced particle physics from my blizzard games, but at the very least things like that should be fixed.

Also it doesn't seem to help that low/medium/high/ultra etc aren't properly in place yet.

Heh for me it was the art style, music, and gameplay. Diablo III has all 3 going for it once again, so no problems here :P

EDIT: Well ambient noises too...Diablo games are dripping with atmosphere. I just wish the music was a bit louder compared to all other sounds. Even if you turn everything else down to 50, they are still louder than the music.

Just searched my email to see if I missed an invite, and apparently I missed an invite for SC2 closed beta. =.=

Maybe I'm not getting a D3 invite because I didn't follow up with the SC2 one.

Regarding the low fps lag-issues. I get them on one of my computers. They are both pretty much identical i5-750 vs i5-760, both with radeon HD5850. One of them has a good SSD, the other does not.

The one with SSD has no lag issues whatsoever, but I get severe stuttering on the other one when going to new areas / using new spells, and by those stairs.

I also read in the forums that there are issues with the clients re-loading assets that have already been loaded several times, so it does sound like a data-reading issue in the beta.

Dont understand this argument. There are already many games that runs great on older machines and look much better [Crysis 2 for example, or any good looking UE game]. I dont know how bugged beta is in comparison to full game in terms of performance, but on my old PC [C2D 2.5ghz, 4gb ram, R4850] on server emulator run awful, like 35-50 fps on low, when i could play Crysis 2 with 45+fps in MP and Mass Effect 2 on 60 fps and Path of Exile on max setting in 60 fps. Also Titan Quest IT was more tech heavy [except physics] most of the time, but had streaming issues too.
On my new PC there is stuttering and often drops to 40, even on medium settings with AA off.

Finally got it all downloaded, installed and running. Everything is at max(1080p). Game looks a lot better than i anticipated, but, i still feel it would have completely blown me away if it had more of a closer to life models for the characters instead of the cartoony ones they have now. Not sure how it would sit, but i have to say it looks awesome. Ran smoothly, but i think im overkilling it with my new machine.

One thing that i def didnt like, and i didnt play enough to bother to check as there were server issues last night.. and its a big thing for me, is there a way to pull back the camera? It felt waaaaaay too close for me. I hate the feeling from what seems like me taking 6/7 steps and hitting the edge of the screen. I like a more birds eye view instead of this zoomed in on the character view.

I find it funny how all of these crashes and disconnects started happening with the new wave of beta-people :). Good for Blizzard! Go rough on those servers.

Still getting disconnects today?

EDIT: Every time I try to log in...some sort of server problems. I know its beta, and they just released alot more codes...but it still sucks.

Yeah. Can't connect to the server right now. I'm sure they'll extend beta to accomodate the lost playing time. Things happen during beta. Its a good time to catch them now and fix it.

Figures. I finally decided to play more earlier today, after not touching this for some time, and bam, the servers are down. It was probably my fault. Sorry guys.

Since I got in a few days ago, I've yet to actually experience a good login experience. I've had to type in my user/password at least 20 times before some butterfly in Mongolia flaps it's wings and it lets me log in. I don't really know if this is my fault or Bliz's, but reading this thread makes me think it's definitely them.

On the positive side, I can say I really like all the music that plays on the login screen. Some really hard volume swings at times (For whatever reason the music restarts when I click ok to the error message after failing to login) though.

What's going on in this pic o_o

Now that the servers are back up, its performing nicely with no strange jerkyness or laggyness for the most part. The music volume really needs increasing compared to the volume of everything else in game though. You can barely hear the town theme.

Any changes in the tooltips?

Never played Diablo before and I just started playin the beta today. OMG this game is stupid fun, started as a monk and I'm having a great time so far.

For those experiencing the error message "Error 37", please try to login again at a future point in time. We are currently limiting the amount of testers that can login to the beta test and this error indicates that the servers have reached capacity.

After dabbling in all 5 classes I definitely enjoy playing as a Demon Hunter and a Monk. The Demon Hunter is fun, and I excel at it. The Monk is fun, but a tad more challenging. Barbarian, Wizard and Witch Doctor didn't really do anything for me. The Witch Doctor is certainly unique, and has a draw in that sense, but it didn't blow me away.

Anyone else having sound mix problems with the music in Tristram or other areas being lower than the sound effects? Just want to know before I make a post about it on the official forums.
